The jet stream stayed south of the border for a longer amount of time this year, and there is a nice high pressure area building off of Bermuda. Hot and cold along with a low and a high front means big storms for the midwest. I would guess some of this has to do with global warming.
I just look at it as the longer we are cool, the less bugs I have to cope with and the less hot days to make me melt this summer.
I though my eyes were playing tricks when I saw a big black with gold lettering emergency response truck at a local church. It's one of the command centers for the state's homeland security office. They are coordinating rescue efforts near my home because the flooding starts only a few miles away from here.
I thanked hubby tonight for not buying us a home in Martinsville. I think this is the fourth time in eight years the weather has made me glad he did not want to drive that far to work.
