The Truth About Thunderstorms
Characters: teladia (Bree), nashira (Steph), Rodolphus (HP), Sirius(HP), Lilith & Kali (Stephs), Tain (Brees).
Somewhere in Scotland.
It was dark outside and as foreboding as any spring in Scotland ever was during a thunderstorm. A gust of wind blew under the door and the candles lighting the room flicked, threatening to blow out if someone didn’t do something about the draughty door.
‘Argh! Damn hotel rooms, they’re not fit for storms, are they?’ A tall brunette stated more then she asked as she ran into the small bathroom and got a pile of towels, dumping them on the bed and handing one to the other girl. ‘If we put these at the door and windows the candles will stay lit and we’ll stay dry, Bree.’ She smiled faintly before swearing when another gust of wind blew the candles out leaving them in the dark.
‘Fuck.’ Bree muttered, looking for her wand. ‘Steph, where’re the wands?’ She said feeling around for her wand but only ran into Steph and they stumbled backwards before laughing.
‘Wifey, I’m hardly a wand,’ Steph laughed but she jumped slightly when a loud crack of lightning lit up the room and the thunder sounded like a band of drummers right on top of their heads. ‘I. Hate. STORMS.’ she yelled as if it would scare the bloody thing away, it of course failed but she felt a tad bit better.
There was another flash of lightning and it lit up the room, even through the curtains, and she could see the wands. ‘Oh, Bree, they’re over near you… Yeah that’s right… no honey… don’t run into the wall’ Steph said trying not to laugh. Bree had only just avoided running into the wall thanks to being warned and she rolled her eyes and grabbed to wands, chucking Steph’s at her and only just missing her head. ‘Well, you can still throw fine.’ she teased.
Bree grinned and muttered ‘Lumos’ as Steph picked up the towels she had dropped and went to put them at the base of the door. Most witches didn’t like doing things with their hands if they could help it, after all she and Bree were purebloods there’s not reason they couldn’t. Nonetheless, five minutes later Steph and Bree collapsed on their bed together, soaking wet from the rain and grinning.
‘You know, Scotland isn’t so bad when it’s not raining, I hear.’ Steph said rolling over onto her stomach and flicking her wand at the candles, causing them to all light up at once, the room light again enough so they could see well.
‘Yeah, but finding out when it doesn’t rain is the trick, or so Sirius said,’ Bree snorted and pulled a face which made Steph laugh and throw a pillow at her.
Tap, tap, CRASH. Bree and Steph jumped, all but landing on top of each other and clutching their wands. ‘Did you invite anyone?’ they both asked each other in unison causing Bree to snort softly and Steph to roll her eyes. A loud roll of thunder sounded above the roof and Bree nearly fell off the bed in surprise. Steph neared the door her dark purple short dress was rain soaked and stuck to her skin as she approached the door cautiously. ‘Whose there?’ she asked, opening the door, her lips ready to say the incantation if it was unwelcome visitors, it’s not like they hadn’t had their fair share. If you associate with Death Eaters and the good guys that tends to happen.
The door creaked when it opened and a large black dog ran into the room barrelling Steph over before she noticed the other figure who didn’t try to catch her but let her fall on her arse but offered her his hand though not after smirking. Bree squealed and giggled in the background as the large dog licked her face. ‘Oi! Sirius!’ she couldn’t keep he face straight though and ended up just laughing.
The man who helped Steph up was slightly taller then she and Steph had to look up to see whom it was. ‘Rodolphus,’ she said, a little surprise in her voice, not that he let her fall but that he was here. ‘You’re letting the rain in, you bastard,’ rolling her eyes she pulled him inside and went to close the door.
‘Actually you might want to look outside, there’s one very attractive red head out there looking for you and that silver head friend of hers,’ he nodded his head in Bree’s direction. Steph pulled a face, she had an idea who it was, though she had no idea why she’d be here. Stepping out into the rain she instantly sunk into the mud the moment she left the path to go see the woman, her wand lighting the way.
‘You’re a bit wet, Mistress.’ A warm purring voice came from behind her and she turned around, face to face with Lilith, a 5’11 Succubi who was drop dead gorgeous, sometimes the drop dead part was literal. She smelt faintly of roses, she should have smelt like rain.
‘Of course I’m wet Lilith, what do you fucking want?’ Steph swore her temper getting the better of her. Lilith smirked and Tain laughed slightly from a few metres away.
‘Hmmn… Wet… Fucking…’ Lilith purred in the back of her throat laughing. She was a succubi so it really wasn’t her fault she automatically jumped to interesting conclusions.
‘Well?’ Steph asked again sighing but when Lilith made no effort to reply she dragged Lilith inside, Tain came of his own accord his eyes shining with laughter. In another attempt to close the door Kali, Lilith’s snake slithered in and made itself comfortable at Lilith’s feet.
‘Now isn’t this cosy?’ Sirius muttered sarcastically, now in his human form sitting as far away from Rodolphus as he could manage in the small room. He was sitting next to Bree on the bed water still dripping from his long black hair. Bree slugged him in the arm playfully and he ruffled up her hair. Rodolphus was standing next to one of the windows which flashed with lightning every few minutes, Steph moved over to him and looked at him then Sirius and Tain and Lilith. ‘How on earth did you lot find us anyway?’ she was calm but her voice was biting, she didn’t appreciate getting soaking wet on cold nights more then possibly unavoidable.
