|About:||The year is 1935. The worst of the Great Depression is over, but many people still suffer its effects -- especially those who were already disadvantaged before the crash. An 'alphabet soup' of government programs have been founded to give people work, and to improve the lives of the American people.|
Among these is the TVA -- the Tennessee Valley Authority. Granted unprecedented powers by the federal government, this agency has been given the task of bringing modern education and amenities to the people of the Tennessee Valley. To educate them in more efficent farming techniques and introduce them to more potent fertilisers, to replant their forests and fight forest fires, and to construct dams with which to electrify the region. Most of the time, these proceedings go fairly smoothly. But occasionally, there will be problems. In these cases, small groups of problem-solvers brought together by the TVA may be called in, to assist and find a way to fulfill the TVA's goals while keeping conflict minimal.
You are one such group -- sent to Western North Carolina, to provide assistance in modernising the small communities still hidden in the mountains surrounding Asheville, that famous city called "the Paris of the South." Its beauty is unmatched, but there is darkness still to be found here, in the land of the sky.
The Land of the Sky is a Call of Cthulhu game set in the Tennessee Valley area, especially around the city of Asheville, NC, in the mid 1930s.

Metagaming will not be tolerated. At the Keeper's prerogative, undue amounts of knowledge may be explained away through any number of unpleasant reasons, including but not limited to possession, mind-exchange, deals with Nyarlathotep, or Anal Skrulls.
Dice rolls will be used. Typically, these will be undergone in ((parentheses)) below the in-character interaction. Occasionally, they may happen in an IRC room or over AIM.
Please try not to skip turns. If you feel your character has absolutely nothing to say, post with a description of his/her actions, or just with a blank post. This will keep the turn order clear, and prevent other players from spending undue time wondering whose turn it is.
Anyone who writes out accents shall be beaten to death with my girthy e-penis. I am dead serious.
