I did surveillance a lot
While Catrin was busy demonstrating her trust to this person she was meeting completely alone and with no backup, Nate was busy demonstrating his utter lack of trust and why he was good at his job. Having already walked around the area and got a good idea of routes out, and examined the house itself for entry and exit points in an emergency, he was now waiting. Sitting outside a nearby cafe with a large cup of coffee and an as-yet-untouched pastry, he didn't look at all out of place. He'd chosen the location for the view rather than the quality, but he'd lucked out (probably just because of the neighborhood) and the coffee was actually pretty good.
So here he was, blending in and looking completely harmless, even with the edges of his tattoo peaking over his collar. Nate wasn't staring, that would be too obvious, but his attention was almost entirely on the house in the periphery of his vision. He didn't miss the man approaching the table, though, and re-focused slightly in case it was something that required him to act.
