There's no place like home
Things were in order at the nursery. In order enough, at least, that Persephone felt comfortable leaving its care to those she employed for a little while. She had other places to be and other duties to fulfill.
She made a trip to the Underworld, of course. She expected that very little had changed. Certainly if Hades had somehow freed himself from wherever he'd been taken, she would have known. He would have come for her, so no, he wouldn't be there, but there were still wandering and frankly puzzled souls. Cerberus needed attention. Their bedclothes needed airing out.
And then it was off again, a jaunt to visit another part of the surface world and Demeter's gardens, which were even more lush and impressive than Persephone's own. Of course. Setting foot on her grounds, bending to cup a rose between her hands and inhale the heady scent brought her a measure of comfort that settled deep inside her and made her step a little lighter and a little easier.
She didn't call out to Demeter. Her mother would know she'd come, and they'd meet in due time, when Demeter could get away.
