A perfect maze of intrigue
When Natalia had tracked him down in one of the Labyrinth bars (it was too early for his club), Komos had of course supplied her with the alcohol she requested. Then he'd taken her to a table where they wouldn't be overheard, and asked her what the matter was; it wasn't often she deserted her post.
It turned out that D's warding job on his office had done wonders, since Komos hadn't had a clue that Dionysus and Apollo were apparently in the middle of a knock-down drag-out fight until she told him. He had made sure the bartender knew better than to cut her off, kissed her cheek, and stopped by his father's office long enough to ascertain that yes, damage was being done behind the closed doors.
There were little things Komos would have wanted less than to find himself between the two gods - while they were fighting, that was. The thought was a very pleasant one in different circumstances. But as it was, he would rather let them have it out without intervening, and saw it as his chance to finally figure out what his father was up to in his basement. He was, after all, currently very occupied, hopefully too occupied to bother with Komos setting off wards anywhere.
He knew just where to go, the one space in the Labyrinth that Komos did not have access to, down in the center of the basement. The Guardians he so disliked appeared when he headed for the door, but he was among those Dionysus wanted protected - for now, at least, and hopefully his current disobedience would not change that - and he was able to walk past them without anything but a grimace twisting his features. The Kouretes always gave him the creeps, what could he say.
When he finally got to what he was looking for, he could not, for a few seconds, make out what it was he was looking at. Pieces of flesh and skin put together, forming the shell of a body so very clearly devoid of life. Talk about a Frankenstein monster. It took him a good minute before he realised who he was looking at. What he was looking at. Whose reconstructed body it was.
"Shit."
