time for a little celebration, open
After spending too much time locked away finishing up a recent project, Alex had finally handed the damn things over, been paid for it and been released from its evil clutches. Something of that sort anyway. It was clearly a reason for some sort of celebration, even if it was a quiet sort of one.
Once again, it was as good an excuse to get out as any - out to somewhere with people, where he wasn't surrounded just by his work and his thoughts, no matter how much that sort of thing seemed to be for the best most of the time. Besides, he had money in his pocket, and that was just calling for some time spent outside.
He picked a bar at random. That had worked well enough for him last time that he was willing to try that again, stepped inside and found a space by the bar itself. It was quiet enough that conversation flitted to him in bits and pieces from the people around him - more of a quiet place to drink than a club, which suited Alex just fine. In fact, it seemed like a great place to spend his evening; he might even find some company to enjoy it with. He flagged down the bartender, ordered himself a drink and settled on the bar stool to people-watch.
