Looking into Alison
Natasha had done a fair amount of waiting before presenting Kelly and Jason with her suspicions, and she was back to waiting again. She trusted that Kelly would speak to Sid, but she also knew Kelly didn't feel much urgency about the situation and it had already been a couple of days.
She'd managed to source a decent wig, so at least she wouldn't have to dye her hair again. Ugh, it was always such a mess to do. Blonde looked natural enough on her that she wouldn't stand out too much in her appearance. Obviously she wanted to stand out a little, but genetics had been good to her on that front. Her looks had their uses.
Three different bars, carefully chosen for their distinctive clientele, but with enough of a mix of customers that her not being a regular wouldn't be a problem. It didn't take much. Act happy and as blonde as her hair, pretend to be getting tipsy after a couple of glasses of wine. Talk to the bartender, or whichever idiot decided to sit next to her, about the big house she was minding. Just had to keep an eye on the place and water the plants, she said. The couple who owned it was leaving tomorrow for a month in the Carribean, she said. Money to burn, she said. Perfect side job to help her save up for a new car, she said. Let them buy her drinks until she had to be poured into a cab (still coldly sober under the wig), get rid of the guy who thought he was getting lucky by feigning serious nausea and threatening to throw up on him, and on to the next place. It wasn't until the third that the alcohol was starting to get to her, but her job was done.
The following night, Natasha was in place. Infra-red cameras had been set up in case she was at the wrong angle to see the results, and she herself was settled in with night-vision binoculars. If this woman was just an innocent housewife, Natasha had a burner phone to call the cops, and she'd intervene if she had to. If not, well. Whatever happened, the thieves were going to have a bad day. It remained to be seen if the woman inside would be more than mildly inconvenienced.
