Jack had passed the first night in the strange place with the same amount of comfort as he would have in any new and unfamiliar ship. His ears remained alert, even as his mind slept, for sounds of mutiny or, in the worse case scenario, Davy Jones's Kraken. The one which had attempted to eat him moments before he'd found himself standing in front of the sparkling man who had made even Jack look silly. He had, needlessly to say, not slept wonderfully and was therefore somewhat cranky and in need of a bit of refreshment and entertainment when the sun had finally reached the mid-point of the sky.
Taking himself outside and into the city proper, he had seen what looked like the tail end of a baudy dance hall gown fluttering around a corner and he was certainly in the mood for a little spank and tickle with a few ladies and a few bottles of rum after what he'd been through.
He'd always been the sort to make the best of a bad situation and seeing as he had just been nearly eaten by a huge beasty on the high seas because the lovely Elizabeth Swann had suddenly decided to be more "Jack-like." Therefore he was not of a mind to go finding a way back any time soon. Especially not if there was women and booze and perhaps drunken singing to be had. So he wandered away from the dispersing crowd without spending a lot of time looking at them. They'd appeared a motley crew at best, not unlike some of his previous ship crews, and the very tall woman in the leather had given him some pause. He hadn't been sure whether to appreciate her legs or run screaming in the opposite direction in case she decided to hurt him.
So there he was, following a skirt and getting a bit lost. Which was fine with him though perhaps a bit of company was in order. He cast his eyes about and spotted someone then. "Pardon me, have you seen the tavern?" he asked.
