Starting all over again

Derrick Princeton slipped on the earphones over his ears, then moved his chair closer to the microphone. The fleet had completed its emergency jump a couple of minutes ago after the cylons had made their first appearance in months.

“You're on live, in three, two , one,” the producer pointed at Derrick and mouthed the phase ‘live’.

“This is Derrick Princeton coming live from the Shangri-la on wireless channel 6.” He paused for a beat. “Here is what we know so far, all our non-military ships have made it undamaged, thanks to the men and women of the battle fleet. Another job well, done.

“Reports are sketching about the condition of the battlestars, as they don’t regularly communicate with the news services directly after a battle. Same, same. Except, there had been a noticeable delay from the time we jumped till the battle fleet had jumped, So we here can only imagine that they had a rough time of it.

“So our prays are with those that may have been lost, and those hurt in the fight. I, we can not give enough praise to the young men and women who serve in the fleet. Great work!

“It looks like our dear Cylons friends had wanted to wish us know that they had not forgotten about us. Those F-ing toasters, will they ever gives us a break? Its not enough that they had destroyed our homes, killed the ones we love, and had left us with barely nothing. Why can’t they just all rust away and leave us alone?”

Someone then handed him a piece of paper, “Well, here is some news, our great leader, Cedric Wyndom happened to be on the flagship Avalon during the time of the battle. It says he is safe and unharmed.

“Thank the gods, no elections anytime soon for us.

“Well, its not a lot of news at the moment, but I will be here for the rest of the hour and here to keep you updated. Our guest for this hour could not make it, due to the emergency, so we are going to play a few tunes.

“So kick back, relax, and let us all be grateful,” He then press a button on the console to play a track.
