Transcript Of Speech To All Military Channels
Ladies and gentlemen of the Colonial fleet, good evening...

Very soon, we will be engaging in an operation vital to our survival. Although options do exist, none of them will secure us the resources needed to continue in our present state. Although no obvious danger exists, due to the nature of this mission, every single precaution must be taken. By the time you hear this, those of you vital to the success of this endeavour will be getting briefed on the part you will play.

Just how critical this action will be, cannot be emphasised enough... Should we fail, this could be the most significant defeat since the destruction of the colonies. But should we do our jobs... Should we succeed in our aims... You will have personally contributed to the survival of our species, in a way impossible before.

Today, we are not Tauron, we are not Virgonese, nor are we Caprican... We are humankind and you, from mechanics to pilots, from navigators to engineers... We are Colonial warriors. If things go as hoped, we'll have nothing more to contend with than a few well-timed demolitions charges. If we meet the unexpected, that's for what we train.

May the gods grant us passage and our determination light the way. So say we all.

The message stopped playing and Cole looked up at the speaker. But his eyes were somewhere else. Maybe it was Scorpia. Maybe it was Caprica. Maybe he was remembering some childhood memory long forgotten.

The fainest wisp of a smile cracked his lips and he whispered in a tone so low no one heard, "So say we all."

The team were just making their way out of the room they'd been briefed in when the announcement came over the small speaking up in the corner. The light-hearted jibes and laughter died quickly when a few of them recognised the Admiral's voice and gave the 'silence' sign.

As the final words were said there was a soft chorus of ackowledgement, "so say we all," and each man in the room looked around at the others.

"We're back!" grinned LeRoy, Rubble to his team mates.

"We are," rumbled Avalanche, his grin widening slowly as a series of punches went around the room, ending up with him.

"C'mon, get yer asses packed and meet up on the hangar deck, and no going via the bar, we're on 'countdown'," John told them, some jeering at him in jest, but each man now clearly back in the frame. As he ran his eyes over the room, Spider the only one still in there, as usual checking they left nothing behind, he gave his 2IC a wink. "Good to be back," he told the other man quietly. "Yeah, you said it, boss!" As John made his way out of the room he grinned to himself. It really was good to be back...

The voice from the speaker sounded tinny and mechanical, but Rosie had gotten to the point that she'd have recognized the Admiral's voice anywhere. Her words of wisdom did strike true. Still, the whole thing made Rosie nervous. But everything made her nervous these days.

She hung her head, staring darkly at her own hands. So say we all, said the Admiral, and that brought the weight of it down hard. Not unbearable, not impossible, but the growing pain in Rosie's stomach told her everything in the universe was where it was meant to be.

Even now, there was clarity in pain.

"So say we all..."

After the Admiral was done giving her address, Kobe looked out to his officers. “So say we all,” He said at the podium in front of the squadron leaders and their deputies inside one of the ready rooms aboard Avalon. Those inside the room with him repeated the same phase.

He pressed a button on the remote in his hand that changed the screens behind him at the podium. Pictures of the basestar and battlestar wreckage appeared on the screens. “The 93rd Air Group will provide…” He began to brief the leaders of his air group on their part of the salvage operation.
