Good Grief!
45 minutes after the incident

“…she was belligerent.” said Captain Dennison, Avalon’s Senior Landing Signal Officer. “I was ready to run over there to end a fist fight, but it never came to that, too bad though, it might have been entertaining.

“Frak Tom I don‘t think I could have stand all that, I would‘ve hit that bitch.” he paused a beat. “It didn’t end in the most professional matter but I don’t blame the Major for loosing her cool after the constant insults that woman lashed at her.” The captain shook his head before drinking from his coffee cup.

“Well Ducky, that’s why you are still a Captain.”

“Who wants that kind of responsibility?”

“You got a point there,” he laid down his coffee mug on his desk behind him. “Thanks for coming straight up here.” He then reached for the handset on the wall. “I’ll see you later, Ducky.”

“Sure thing, Tom” said Burk’s old squadron mate before leveling the Commander‘s wardroom.

Burk spoke into the handset. “Get me Major Sykes on the line.” He then hung the phone back up on the wall.

Burk encouraged his officers to take the initiative, especially when it came to thinking out of the box. He approved of holding Sting,  because Sykes had presented a good case for its use. After hearing what happen in Hanger 13, and after speaking with Ducky who was among those watching. He came to his decision.

The phone buzzed and Burk answered. “Major Sykes, you’ve heard what happen in your hanger?”

“Hanger 13, yes I did, sir. I apology.” replied Sykes on the other side of the line.

“Leave your apology for another time. Now listen, I am releasing Sting. I want that frakking ship and that woman off my battlestar, immediately. Is that clear, Major?” Burk did not want to take another chance of some other incident, no matter who was at fault, not when the crew was preparing for possible action soon. It would only be a distraction and they needed to focus ahead on the operation.

“Crystal, sir.”

“Good, I’d liked your idea, but its just not worth the trouble …you get my drift?”

“Copy that, sir. I‘ll get right on it.”

“That’s all.” Burk pressed the disconnect and released. He pressed the pre-set button on the phone to CIC. “Send a message to Ops for Major Simmons to see me.” He then hung up. When he had a chance to speak with the major, he would let Admiral Sinclair know of the incident.

From Commander Burk’s log

Entry-- Major Sykes had come to me to ask for me to hold a civilian ship, Sting, that might be useful in the first phase of the salvage operation. The structure and design of the ship has likely evasion abilities, and a low EM signature. I ordered it to be held with the option to charter the ship and its pilot for use in the mission. Till a final decision is made, the ship is held in hanger 13.

Entry-- Incident involving the civilian ship, Sting, in hanger 13. Initial reports called up to CIC from the hanger deck reported a heated argument between Major Simmons and Miss Jereldsen regarding the initial briefing. No physical violence. Miss Jereldsen and the Major were clearly showing unprofessional decorum. After speaking personally with Captain Dennison who witnessed the argument, I ordered the Sting and pilot released. The benefit of using Sting in doubt.

As no physical assault was committed or complaint yet filed, there is no urgency for an investigation in the matter. I want all my crew concentrating on the preparations for the salvage operation. A civil investigation at this time would only be a distraction. I have asked Major Simmons to see me regarding her action, and plan to put her on report.
