everywhere || action || open

[It's late at night, probably time for everyone to call it a day and head off to bed. Nothing too unusual. In fact, even those who usually stay up late might feel the need to get a good night of sleep today, so it'll make for a quiet night everywhere...

Only after a couple of hours, they might realize there was some movement, possibly even wake up from it if they're light sleepers. Surprise! You're not alone, if you went to sleep on your own. Or you're not with the person you were sharing with, if you were already accompanied. Hell, it might not even look like it's your bed you're sleeping in - beds all over the hotels will have changed, to fancier ones at times, other times to smaller, more cramped ones, maybe even just sleeping bags. You could even find yourselves in one of the many locations outside, on a hammock, or a more elaborated set-up, even inside a bubble of sorts.

Whichever the switch is, you'll have to learn to embrace it for a while (or embrace your new bed partner, we don't judge here), because it'll be impossible to get away for at least some time after the change. Not only that, but the switching around isn't limited to the one night. Lasting for the weekend, the general sleepy feeling will come back again (sometimes during the day, as well) and provoke random naps from people... who might end up in a bed with other victims yet again.

At least Miracle Country worries about hurt sensibilities, so of course if your character might lean towards lighter clothing while sleeping (or none at all - again, we don't judge), the magic of the world shall provide them with cute, warm pyjamas to wear once the switch has happened. Even if it happens during the day, they wouldn't want anyone to be uncomfortable. Of course, should they find themselves ending up wearing something less appropriate, that's just their bad luck.]

009 ⚜ Action | open to all

[So it’s that time again. Anyone who was around last year might remember that it’s a certain someone’s birthday today! And like last year, a Porthos Party basically just means lots of drinking, lots of carrying on, shenanigans, card games, shouting, more drinking, more carrying on, more drinking…

The entire beach has been commandeered for this. Aramis has even set up some things to make it obvious it's a party going on. There might even be a few stray balloons floating around (or a few broken balloons since inevitably they're going to be shot at).

You’ve probably been invited. Or maybe you’re party-crashing. Honestly, Porthos isn’t about to complain. And no presents necessary (although if you wanted to bring something more to drink, he won’t complain, either).

Trying to ignore the party? Good luck, cause it’s lasting all day and well into the night. And just getting progressively louder and louder. Are those gunshots?

But not totally dissimilar to last year, it seems this world wants to get into the celebrations, too! So during the party, you might suddenly find yourself in a whole new outfit that you weren’t expecting! Maybe that new costume will start to influence your behavior, too…]

[ooc: this is an open log and feel free to jump in however you’d like. If you’d like to interact with Porthos specifically, his top comment is here. Otherwise, mingle as you see fit! Also note that the event replay is not mandatory.]

4th wall event final log || action || open to all

[It's the final day for our various visitors's stay in Kiseki! After a busy ten days, it's time to make the most out of these final hours, and say goodbye, as by the end of the day the Mokona-shaped pins will finally fully change to white, sprout large wings, and transport them all back to their worlds!

Of course, Miracle Country wants to help this last day be special, and so today people'll find the whole place is decorated to fit the occasion. The sun will set surprisingly early, and all sorts of lanterns will light the way to the forests, where the paths into it will look prettier than ever. There will be extra lanterns left near the river to light up and carry with you, or even send away into the river itself, if you'd like. While getting deep into these woods is usually a dangerous ordeal, today it'll remain peaceful, the barriers keeping creatures far behind so that its paths are more approacheable than ever. Those forest huts that aren't being used at the time will be lit up, as well, its doors open and the tables inside full of picnic foods and other supplies so people can hang out in or near them if they'd like. You could even light a fire near the huts, and invite people over!

Even deeper in, the mysterious caves found there will also look friendlier for the day, little glowing orbs like fireflies illuminating its passages and its rooms feeling warm and cozy . Both here and in the huts, you might even find pillows and blankets, plenty of comfortable things to spend a while in there or even take them outside and enjoy the sight of the trees, still blooming pink, the same lanterns hanging from them. Not just that, but today you could find colorful, empty strips of paper hanging from them as well. Do you have a wish for the loved ones you're leaving behind, or maybe those who have to leave? Write it down, hang it from the tree, and let that hope be heard.

Enjoy these final moments, and look forward to the world's doors reopening in the future!]

4th wall event || action || open to all

[Days later, and it's finally time to reveal the big mystery of the Mokona notes found around! To those who experienced this before, it might seem like it was obvious from the start, once they realize what's up...

Of course, we mean the 4th Wall Event is starting right now! For anyone awake, there'll be a burst of pink everywhere - the trees in all the islands are changing to sakura trees as is the usual for Kiseki celebrations. If sudden pink isn't enough to call people's attentions by now, it's likely the added noise and crowds might... Floating lanterns will appear around as well, meant to guide along our new visitors, who will be arriving starting at midnight! The Welcome Center will be busier than ever, but of course people may appear in other locations throughout the islands.

Like last time, visitors will arrive with a small Mokona pin that will first be colored black but will start turning white as the days go by. Once the Mokona turns white, by the 25th, it’ll sprout wings, open a portal, and send your new friends back. The pins will appear on them automatically, but they'll receive the traditional Usyagi welcome (our local creepy flying bunnies), who will give a quick, vague explanation of where they are and why they're here. One thing is clear - those wearing the pin are only here temporarily... Unless circumstances change, of course.

Our visitors will have their clothes magically changed into a comfortable yukata, matching the summer weather (they may keep their usual clothes and possessions they might've been carrying), and as a treat during the first day, there will be blankets and pillows set out around the main island's park, where picnic baskets full of all sorts of food will be available for anyone who wishes to simply relax with friends and loved ones. Or maybe it's a good way to break the news of being temporarily stuck in a different world to a new friend! Perhaps those used to this land should warn them about the risks of consuming food this world provides, although they might be lucky and left to enjoy the small celebrations in peace for a while.

Maybe they won't be so lucky, however, and end up arriving with some company! People who show up at the forests might end up followed by some creature from their own worlds (dangerous or not - think anything from Harry Potter being followed by a three-headed dog, to Aang finding himself surrounded by penguin-seals)... The forests' barriers luckily would keep anything too dangerous trapped in their depths, but these visitors might need a little help for a while, likely a good chance for the fighters and healers around to shine. Should anyone require assistance and not have it, the Usyagi will help by alerting those in the main islands about it.

Whatever it is people get up to, ten days go by pretty fast... So make sure to make the most out of it!]

010 ♔ Action | open to all

[It’s been a quiet few days since the funeral pyre – but the week isn’t over yet. In fact, today is someone’s birthday, although he’s loathed to admit as much. He has a few knights here, though, who do know the day and therefore aren’t willing to leave well enough alone. That’s right, it’s Arthur Pendragon’s birthday!

All day today, venturing down into the underground tunnels – which you might want to do simply because you keep hearing sounds of voices and laughter – will lead you to a few of the underground common rooms, where extravagant feasts are being set up! Long tables full of every kind of food imaginable, both savory and reminiscent of Camelot cuisine and the more modern, sweeter touches (we mustn’t let Arthur be without his cupcakes, after all). Also drinks. Lots and lots and lots of drinks. That’s Gwaine’s influence.

Want to come celebrate a legendary king’s birthday? There’s more than enough food for everyone.

The reason the feast is being held underground is because today, somewhat abnormal for a Kiseki summer, it’s starting to rain. Not too heavy, but unrelenting – lasting throughout the day and several days afterwards and covering the entire island. It’s a little muggy outside, but the rain is chilling – so it might encourage you to stay indoors if you were thinking of venturing out. But it isn’t as if there aren’t means to entertain yourself, of course.

Unrelated to the birthday celebrations today, there’s another strange happening. All over the walls of the hotel, the underground tunnels, any building you might come across, even pasted to the walls of your room, there will be little Mokona shaped cards – white and black – with one simple question printed on it: “Who do you wish to see?”

You can’t remove them and they won’t go away. They’ll be here throughout the week. Perhaps you recognize them or perhaps you don’t. But, really…

Who do you wish to see?]

main island || action || open

[Today, people might've noticed two of their latest residents have kept rather busy, heading into the forests over and over again, each time they returned carrying wood and gathering it up by the lake's edge. By the evening, they'll have stayed up there building a structure, and by nightfall they'll light it up - a large funeral pyre, a tribute to their friends and comrades who were lost in battle.

To those unused to them, it might seem like an odd bonfire, although it's clear from their solemn looks that this one isn't meant to be part of a celebration. Perhaps you'd like to try and help them set it up? Or ask them about it once it's lit... It's big enough that it should be easy to notice across the main island at least (and probably make a pretty nice view if you're travelling on the magic trains or up an air balloon).]

This diva needs her stage-- wait, wrong character.

Here be Elsa's dramatics )

[Those who haven't checked their journal today - or have, but would rather not deal with miss drama queen - will perhaps notice that for today only, the lake near the Sakura park is frozen solid. Not only the lake, but much of the ground around the park is covered with ice - which might be somewhat alarming for those who remember the blizzard a few months ago. If it helps, the Usyagi at least don't seem alarmed: they're milling about the lake, setting up hockey sticks, goals, ice skates in various sizes... clearly the residents are encouraged to make use of them.

Leading away from the lake is a path of beautiful ice flowers on the ground - straight and bold, as if the person who made it knew exactly where she was headed - and if you follow it you'll eventually end up by the beach, looking up at this new, icy addition to Kiseki's architectural landscape. Come say hi? Otherwise, mingle at will!]

[Today, it has been rather dull, grey and cloudy despite the summer season, perhaps causing gloominess or hope for some rain. The day will go on normally, but by the evening, residents of Miracle Country should eventually realize that the power is out.]

[With past events, many might fear something strange happening, perhaps some form of attack, or creepiness about to start...

Yet it all seems rather uneventful, aside from an abundance of Usyagi around the hotels, apparently hard at work to get this fixed. A sign apologizing for the delays will be held up at the main hotel's reception, and the power will take yet many long hours to be restored.]

[In the meantime, it could be a good day to go to bed early, or maybe you want to complain that your stored food got ruined, or maybe you favor a walk under the stars?]

[Surely many of our residents are more than familiar with the Cherry Blossom Café, the cozy little place currently run by Syaoran, and the Candy shop which Lancelot is now in charge of. The CBC is difficult to ignore, with its pink theme, and the candy shop being so close-by means most people would've noticed it at least in passing...

Well, it seems Miracle Country decided that having them so close but apart was a bit of a waste, and so, if you go to these shops today, you'll notice some changes. Both places will now be connected by a large patio, where a small sakura tree is now growing. Aside from tables set out for anyone who wants to enjoy the shops' food, there's a pretty fountain to one side of it, and while you can simply walk through the patio itself, there's now a small, cute bridge connecting both places, signaling their cooperation from now on.

To celebrate this union, there'll be themed items available in both places , with the CBC carrying a special selection to honor the candy shop's last owner. Yes, today it's a very sweet menu for both places...

And just in time, too. The tradition of giving a candy in exchange for a kiss is back, and so our helpful (?)Usyagi will be handing out cute flyers of the newly connected shops to people who might not know of the change, along with a free sample of candy, so they'll go and give them a try. Of course, the invitation also reminds people of the tradition, and encourages them to give it a try. Even the grumpy or apathetic ones might find themselves really wanting to hand out candy to others, or reluctantly giving a kiss in exchange for any they're offered themselves, even if they might not usually be so keen on the idea.]

[[Our workers can be found here, here, and here, otherwise feel free to mingle among yourselves! Threads don't have to happen in the shops' areas either, as the event covers the whole place.]]

Blizzard event, first log

[It starts out as a normal snowfall.

Or maybe not, if anyone happens to be outside to see the ice spreading over the ground unnaturally fast, even creeping up the buildings in its way. Starting from somewhere on the main island it makes its way out to sea, freezing the water as it goes. By the end of the first day the ice has spread to all the outer islands, although the trains are still running at that point.

Perhaps you find it enjoyable at first. There's certainly more than enough snow for snowball fights, for sledding, for building snowmen... but as the day goes on, the snow gets heavier; by the second, the wind picks up. Neither lets up as the days pass - on the contrary, they intensify, and the temperature steadily drops.

The hotels? Mysteriously gone, on every island. Instead, on the main island there's a castle some of the older residents might remember, although this time, everyone will find their own familiar bed in one of its room, complete with their personal bedding items. Maybe they'll want to forgo the single rooms, however, as there's no electrical heating in the castle, only the stone walls to keep out the cold. All the shops are shut down, the Kisekian NPCs suddenly nowhere to be seen, and the old castle certainly doesn't come with a cafeteria. There are some supplies to be found, however! A few cooking utensils, some flour, dry pasta, cans of dried, reheatable food... nothing fancy, and nothing much, so better ration those portions while they last. That is, unless you're prepared to go out hunting - there is game to be found around the islands.

Outside? The wind is howling, the snow piling up more and more by the hour. It's getting harder to move outside, and those that venture farther than just outside the castle? They might run into one of these snow golems. They look frightening, but won't attack anyone as long as distance is kept - being created out of fear, however, they might lash out at anyone that provokes them... and sometimes, just getting a little too close will be enough to anger them.

If anyone is still not convinced that this is Kiseki having fun at the characters' expense? For the entire first week of the event, magic powers won't work, although bending still will.]

[Plotting post for the event! The next log will go up in a week from now. Interactions with Elsa can be done here, otherwise thread to your hearts' content!]
