[When walking into Mickey's dreamscape, you might be expecting big round cartoony figures, singing and dancing, and maybe even a big smiley sun to encompass all the flowers and lollipops decorating the land!
None of that is there. The regular sunshine is showing French architecture, with old paint chipping off marketplaces and horse-drawn carriages drawing snobby-looking people away. Well, animal-people. There are no humans here. There is an inhumane act happening.
Four little figures are running - Mickey as a young boy, along with his pals Donald and Goofy and puppy Pluto. Three adultbeagle men are chasing them, and naturally catch up. They begin snatching whatever food and coin had been in the children's pockets, laughing as the little boys desperately put up a useless fight. Young!Mickey in particular is vocal about this, kicking shins and swinging his fists and demanding that these "big bullies leave us alone!"
Fortunately, this dream is a happy one. One of the beagles gets a tap on the shoulder - and a much larger, stronger dog person punches him right in the face. He's joined by similar looking dogs, all wearing red and blue uniforms. Within seconds, the robbers are defeated, much to the delight of the awe-struck Mickey. One of the valiant heroes notices Mickey's ongoing stare, and with an amused smile, kneels down and gives the mouse his hat. It's far too big for him now, but he'll certainly grow into it. The boy clutches it with admiration, watching the big men leave, his friends at his side.
In fact, the hat has signatures - d'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis. Regular!Mickey is here somewhere... but what's your first reaction?]
