Summary: When Starscream wants attention...
Prompt: Transformers, Starscream/Skyfire: (pre-series) mad science research - "I was going to call it ‘We’ve Finished the Blasted Beacon Research You Idiots on the Finance Board Wanted, Now Give us the Damned Grant We’ve Been Asking For so We Can do Some Real Research’ but I felt it lacked brevity."
Skyfire looked bemusedly down at the data sheet that had been dumped unceremoniously on his desk. "What's this?"
His partner of entirely-too-long hovered over his back - quite literally, in fact, since Starscream had to hover in order to see over Skyfire's shoulder. "It's a report," the young scientist said with exaggerated patience. "You know, the one we've been working on for the last vorn and a half?"
Taking the sheet and powering it on, Skyfire scanned the first page. "Interesting title," he commented.
"I was going to call it 'We've Finished the Blasted Beacon Research You Idiots on the Finance Board Wanted, Now Give us the Damned Grant We’ve Been Asking For so We Can Do Some Real Research,' " Starscream offered solicitously, "but I felt it lacked a certain..."
"Brevity?" Skyfire said when Starscream trailed off.
"Well, I was going to say obsequiousness, but yes, that too," Starscream agreed easily, settling in midair against Skyfire's wing. The bigger jet sighed - Starscream had a habit of making his lack of respect of his superiors known, to everyone but his superiors, and one day he was going to mouth off to the wrong person and get his vocal modulator confiscated. "Besides, this gorgeous piece of work is the closest some of those chair-welded fools will ever get to making love to a beautiful build," he added, and the utter, delicious satisfaction in Starscream's voice made his partner wonder whether "beautiful build" was referring to Skyfire or himself.
"Well, excellent work," was all Skyfire replied, setting Starscream's report on top of a similar stack of datasheets on his desk.
"What? Oh no," Starscream exclaimed, jerking upright and coming around to look Skyfire in the optic. "You are not delaying proofreading that."
"Starscream, I have much to do..."
"And I have nothing to do," the smaller mech retorted, "I can sit here and nag you as long as it takes. And I'm not leaving until you've given my work the attention it deserves!"
So he wanted to be a prima donna, did he? Fine, two could play at that game. "Oh, fine," Skyfire sighed exaggeratedly, "if I read it, will you go away?"
"Ye-" Starscream stopped mid-word, frowning. "What do you mean 'go away?' "
Skyfire just smiled, head tilted, and Starscream faltered a moment before regaining his composure - along with a healthy dose of righteous indignation to boot. "You," he declared, "are evil."
"Evil genius," Skyfire chuckled, and beckoned Starscream down so he could kiss him and stroke his wings. He was feeling magnanimous enough that he even let his partner pretend he was doing him a great favor.

"So, where shall we start?" Starscream purred, tracing his fingers delicately down Skyfire's chest.
"Hmmm." Skyfire let his gaze wander over the map, then shifted his grip around Starscream's sleek form curled up in his lap so he could use one hand to point at a tiny speck of a planet on the screen. "How about there?"
