Pavla cringed as Nate rose from the bed, pulling the covers over his head as several thuds sounded nearby. Blue eyes peered from beneath the blanket at the sound of a female voice, slowly pushing his head out further until he could scan the entire room for any sight of movement. The small Romanian recognized the girl on the floor as the one who had turned into a puppy the day before. With the coast appearing clear, Pavla sat up and gave an apologetic smile to Nate who had bravely jumped up to save him.
"Must be a bad dreaming?" slender shoulders shrugged off the terror inside in an attempt to convince the captain. Drake's words rang in his ear, "If you tell him, I'll kill you. I promise you, I can do it...and I might be able to kill Nate too. Do you want that?" With a shudder, Pavla sat up and tried to compose himself. The thick comforter pooled around his waist, his smooth, boyishly slim chest pale in the first morning light, still damp from his broken fever. The young mutant's cropped hair clung to his face, mussed from the long sleep.
With a soft pat to the shoulder, Pavla treated the pretty young girl as if she were still the little puppy of the day before, smiling at her loving attention then following her gaze to Nate. He blushed slightly at the girl's comment, finding the captain irresistible in his advanced state of undress. Bright blue eyes widened as he listened to how easily Nikita came to have the key to their room. Again his eyes swept the room, teeth worrying at his bottom lip as he considered the possibility of more company.
Pavla didnt feel he had any authority to advise Nate on his dealings with the crew of the ship. If it had been up to him, he would never have made a person go the doctor unless there was no other choice. Glancing between the two, the shadow mutant couldnt help but wonder what would have become of the two if they had roused from their sleep without their extra guest present.
