Gwen nervously listened to Lana talk. She smiled and giggled as she realized that it must have been odd going into a tiki bar with the same last name as the bar. "I think Keri waited on you, my friend there." She nodded, slightly remembering Lana. After all she knew she wasn't a tourist and for a native to come into the tiki bar was...well most of them seemed to be asking for trouble.
Shaking her head at the question, Gwen responded, "I was just looking around trying to find stuff as well. I don't have anything to do and it's about to drive me insane. I've always been on the move, teaching, tending bar or taking care of my house." She sighed, she led such a boring life. Even now on a ship as exciting as this she couldn't quite find it in herself or in others to live it up like people her age were expected to. Gwen was just far too calm and collected and scared of germs. That's all it was. Plus she never knew when the headaches would start.
Drake's voice was rather...rough. Gwen didn't know whether or not she liked it. He seemed to not really like the fact that...or maybe he did like the fact that she was a telepath. No matter, she wasn't very good anyway and she didn't blame him for not liking it at all. She liked her thoughts to herself as well. Her days with Rosemary had been short and the woman couldn't understand why Gwen didn't want to use that power. She was far more happier just using her sight.
"Well, I'm trying not to be. It hurts and I don't like it." She gave him a smile, stepping back a little from him, "Nice to meet you Drake." She said softly as an after thought. Keeping her hands together she kept fiddling with her fingers. "Thank you, I'd like a tour." She nodded and smiled, "After a while I was going to go up top to see what birds I could see. I like watching birds, especially hawks." Lifting a shoulder Gwen went on, nerves making her talk, "Would you like to do that? I can see good distances. My friend Keri and her brother would always play this game with me. They would guess what a certain person was wearing or what business they ran as they got off the plane. We'd be behind the fence a mile or so away. I'd tell them which was right and they'd bet their chores or something."
Yeah, Gwen led quite the boring life with only one friend and her brother who was threatened with his life if he said anything mean about Gwen. People had always thought her far too nervous. Taking a breath, Gwen tried to still her nerves, her hands stopped moving and she willed herself to calm. "I can make us some drinks while we're up there too."
