Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Thursday
Who?: Nikita, Mag and OTA
What?: Going out, gambling, drinking and painting the town red
When?: Around 7pm
Where?: Out on the strip, going who knows where.

Yeah it was cliched as all hell, but Nikita didn't care. She danced around in her room, singing at the top of her lungs 'Viva Las Vegas'. Actually it was more like wiggling around, as she put her things up and made her bed since she had a roommate now. She glanced over to Gwen's bed, eying it for a moment. She wondered where Gwen was at, but shrugged her shoulders. She was missing out on the fun, well, Nikita's brand of fun anyways. Singing still she picked up the bracelet she'd managed to get away from De Vries, smiling as she draped it over her slender wrist. Oh yeah, that'd been an amazing heist. Getting down on her knees, she pulled out the small safe from underneath her bed with a grunt. Using the combination to unlock it she put the bracelet in there, not daring to look at the other contents of the safe as she shut it and locked it back.

Standing she bounced on the balls of her feet, whimpering just a little bit. Nikita was bored, and full of energy. Something needed to be done about that. Nodding to herself she went over to her closet, opening it up and pursing her lips in thought as she looked over her clothing options. Finally she settled on a pair of low riding tight fitting jeans, and a shimmery green loose fitting and flowy halter top. Grabbing a quick shower, she dressed and did up her hair in loose curls. Her makeup was minimal, barely even noticeable until you got up close to her. There wasn't any reason for her to get too flashy with her makeup. She didn't really have anyone to impress and she wanted to go out with her friends and just have a good time.

Putting on a black silver studded belt, and then a pair of simple ankle high black boots with a two-inch heel. Wriggling her toes in her shoes, she stood and walked over to her dresser. Grabbing up one of the smaller clutches on it, she pulled out a drawer. Underneath the mass of clothing was her wallet with what money she was allowing herself to spend in Vegas, and her ID that gave nothing away about her being a mutant. Putting that into her clutch, she put a few other items in her clutch, and snapped it shut. Stepping outside her door, she looked left and then right with a slight pursing of her lips. Yes, Mag needed time off of the ship, and the two of them needed to catch up a little bit. Then whoever else they found on their way off could come with as well. Nodding she called, "Hey! Who wants to go out, get their gamble and drink on?! You've got about fifteen minutes to get ready before you miss out on all the fun!" She sing-songed, giggling as she bounced all the way to the galley.

"Ooooooooooh Mag!" She cupped her hand beside her mouth, amplifying the sound of her voice. Dropping her hand she waited on her friends reply, bouncing once again on the balls of her feet praying that Mag didn't have a squeaky toy. That'd just distract her and probably make her rumple her clothes.

Breakfast, lunch and finally supper was done for Magdeline. She sighed with a slight smile as she walked from her galley to her room. The rest of the cooks could handle what little there was left to do: serve the ones that ate a little late and next shift of watchmen and women. Mag knew she would have to start putting more trust in them anyways if she wanted to spend any extra time with Alex.

Reaching her room she had prepared for a hot, long shower. Spending twenty minutes in such, just relaxing. Then she took her time getting redressed. Pajama pants that had seen better days under a large T-shirt. Curling up in her bed she began going over what she had in stock and what she needed, making a shopping list and while she was at it a menu for the next week.

Canting her head to the side, her eyes narrowed as she thought she heard Niki yell something to the crew in general. There was no telling with that girl. Rolling her eyes she got up out of her bed and strode to the galley, she wanted a snack anyways. Blinking she stared at Niki, "What?"

Crossing over to her friend, she felt highly under dressed. "You going somewhere with your new boy-toy that you got caught smexing it up with?" She smirked and crossed her arms under her breasts. Oh it was a small ship with lots of flapping mouths. There wasn't a thing that could be kept secret that happened between two people, well not really. She wondered how long her and Alex would be a secret. That was if they weren't known about already.

But the fact of the matter was, Nikita had been caught nearly having sex. Something as juicy as that spread like wildfire usually. Mag was surprised she had only heard it at lunch. The poor girl had seemed shell shocked too. Maybe it wasn't true. Then again, it was Niki.

Lana smiled and stretched. She had been sitting on her bunk in an empty room- empty because her roommates had found better things to do with their time than sit around- with her computer sitting in her lap as she typed away in an email, telling her father that she had found a new home with others like her. She knew her mother wouldn’t care, but her father had been as kind as he could after the discovery of her mutation and his daughter thought he at least deserved an explanation. She left out the part where she shot at one of the men, not needing her mother’s fears confirmed that she would only end up harming others if she had enough control over her powers.

It was still unreal thinking about how well things had worked out after her horrible choices. These mutants were a strange breed of human. Who honestly invites someone to go out and get drinks with them and to live with them after the invited shoots exploding projectiles at them? Soft laughter emitted from her lips as she shut down the lap top and put it away in the spot she had designated for it. Suddenly she felt her gut twist and grumble at her. Yes. She was hungry. Her hand had just settled on the door when she heard a woman call out:

Hey! Who wants to go out, get their gamble and drink on?! You've got about fifteen minutes to get ready before you miss out on all the fun!

“Hmm…” She murred to herself. This could be interesting. Fun in Las Vegas, Nevada with new people. Lana had never even been outside of Hawaii and there was plenty of time to explore the ship later. Now would be a good time to acquaint herself with her ship mates. Poking her head out of the door she looked at the woman who she thought might have been the speaker- considering she was the only person in the hall who could have had the voice of a woman. “Hey! I’m going! That all right? Just give me a couple minutes!” She said to the blond before pulling her head back into the room and closing the door.

Deciding it would be beneficial to change into something else she pulled out her suitcase of clothing she had yet to unpack and began rifling through the apparel. She had a bit of everything from pajamas to casual clothing to stuff for fancier settings. She decided to go with a black camisole with silver trim beneath a light white jacket and a pair of form fitting jeans. A thin, black ribbon necklace with a small, silver pendant was tied around her neck. After pulled a brush through her ebony hair and pinning her bangs back she applied some light make-up and pulled on a pair of low heeled, sling backed sandals. Lana thought she looked casual with a nicer air. Not fit for a ball, but not fit for a back alley bar, either.

After grabbing up her purse and verifying she had a decent amount of money in her wallet she left her room and caught up with the pretty blond in the galley. She had eaten a couple of very fine meals in there earlier in the day. The cook definitely had to be a professional. The blond seemed to be conversing with another woman, a redhead. They both looked friendly enough and Lana was quite the people person when she’d had enough sleep and could think clearly. “Hello.” The femme said merrily to the other two. “I’m Lana Tiki. I was picked up in Hawaii.” Her attention turned toward the one who had shouted in the halls. “Your invitation is still open right?”

Nikita’s brows rose as she heard someone call back, and she smiled. Cupping her hand back to her mouth she hollered back, “Yeah that’s totally cool!” She bounced still, and raised a brow at Mag’s attire. “Oh no, that’s not going to do!” Big innocent eyes blinked at Mag’s question and she shook her head, with a confused look now on her face. “No, he’s still in Hawaii as far as I know. Unless you know something I don’t know, and how in the hell did you find out…oh never mind.” She rolled her eyes, waving her hand at her friend. “Get dressed! We’re going out to get our drink and gamble on!” She nodded her head happily with a grin at her friend.

“Go put on something snazzy!” She grinned again with a nod of her head, and then turned as she heard someone else enter the galley. Nikita’s first instinct told her to back away, so she did. A hiss and a low rumbling growl came from her at the scent of the other. It was something akin to electricity, something the shapeshifter couldn’t really put her finger on.

Her eyes went wide and a delicate hand went up to her mouth covering it, “I’m so sorry!” Her cheeks reddened slightly, and she gave the other a sheepish smile with a slight whine. “I’m so sorry, really, I don’t know why I did that.” She thought for a moment as she dropped her hand, eying the other carefully. “I’m Nikita, and yeah the invitation is still totally open if I didn’t scare you off.” She grinned sheepishly once again at the other woman, waiting on Mag to smack her lightly.

“It’s nice to meet you, Lana.” She nodded her head, “So what’s your power then?” She canted her head to the side, light blond curls falling over her shoulder. “I’m a shapeshifter. I can turn into about twenty different animals, only half of those for long periods of time.”

Glancing back over at Mag she gave her friend a grin, almost as if to say ‘look now, you’ve got to come with me so I don’t scare the poor woman half to death with my rambling and my growling, please?’ She ran her fingers through her hair, letting out a short breath. “Come on Mag, get dressed. I know you don’t have plans with Alex, even though you two were awfully cozy last night.” She sing-songed, giving a wink towards Lana. “Alex is my brother, whom Mag here has had a crush on for a while, but ya know how that goes. Apparently,” She turned her head looking back at Mag, “Something happened in Hawaii.” She slid nearer to Lana, “So, what’s in the water in Hawaii?” She smirked, raising a brow at the other. Not that she got too close to Lana, oh no, something about the other set Nikita off just a little bit. Like there was something rubbing her the wrong way, but she didn’t think that it was Lana personally. Nikita felt that it had something to do with her power, but what her power was Nikita wasn’t quite sure just yet.

Mag's eyes went a bit wide when Nikita's plan formulated in her mind. She could see it now, big lights, Niki flaunting, money just flying out of Niki's purse because she was spending it all and...it was just going to be bad. Mag would have to go, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

"Snazzy?" Both brows raised a little as her hands went to her hips. She smiled as the new girl came up, "I'm Mag, nice to meet you...NIKI! Stop growling!" She about smacked Nikita on the head, even went so far as to take her hand off her hip and raise it. Shaking her head she rolled her eyes and gave Lana an apologetic smile. "We rarely ever let her out, sorry.'

Rolling her eyes and throwing up her hands, "Fine. Give me ten." she pointed at one of the other cooks as she passed, "You, in charge, if anything happens I'll have your balls on a platter as a delicacy." she smirked and gave Nikita a wink as she moved to her room.

Picking out something from her closet was easy. She had two main types of clothes, work and casual. So casual that she could sleep in them if she accidentally did so. Sometimes even her work clothes were sleepable. Then she had a handful of going out clothes which she called boob shirts and badonkadonk pants/skirts. Picking out a smokey blue sleeveless, V-neck with a little glitter in the threading and a black pair of low-rise pants. She washed off quickly, donned on a hint honeydew perfume and then her clothes. She stepped into a pair of black two-inch heels with the smokey blue ribbon fitting them around her foot and up a bit on her ankle.

Suddenly she wondered if she should really be dressing up and going out, she was with Alex. Pursing her lips she rolled her eyes and left her hair down. Putting on a little make-up, a smokey hue around her eyes and lips gloss on her lips. She packed her lips gloss, money and ID in her pockets. Purses were made to get snatched, left behind or lost. She grabbed a thin black leather jacket, just in case.

Going back to the galley she raised a brow at the two and spun. "should I go back and change? Or should I go get Alex?" She grinned and waggled her brows, then pouted a little, "And how in the hell did you know about me and Alex getting cozy?" This ship was way too small for the inhabitants good.

Lana jerked a bit, almond shaped coffee eyes going wide. For a split second she was reminded of every animal she had ever encountered since she hit puberty. They had only met her with distrust, unease, and defensive hostility. And what the hell had she ever tried to do to them? Nothing other than help them or pet them. The funny thing was that this time that hostility was coming from a human, an mutant, and not a furry little beast. Three guesses what her power is… The Hawaiian femme thought bitterly.

There was a difference, though. This one apologized and that made everything better. Too bad the pretty blond claimed she wasn’t sure why she had reacted that way, Lana would have liked to know why animals disliked her so passionately. A soft chuckle left her lips at the red-head’s reaction to it all, though. That made things even better. Lana wasn’t a sadist or anything, she just enjoyed playful banter. A small smile played at the corners of her lips. “All is well. Believe it or not I get that reaction a lot, though, normally from the furrier species. And don’t worry. A small shock isn’t going to frighten me off.”

The darker mutant tensed a little at her power being asked about, but she quickly relaxed again. These people were mutants, too. She didn’t have to hide her own mutation any longer. They wouldn’t jump up and grab her to feed her to the registration police, so she needn’t fear that any more. “I… uh…” How does a person explain a power like this when they only ever had to once in their life. “I guess I charge this specific energy in different objects. It something touches them or vice versa, or if they sit around for a period of time they end up exploding.” And Nikita was a shape-shifter, basically what Lana had figured.

Lana took note that Mag seemed to be in charge of the kitchens and decided to keep on her good side. If the woman was really head chef she didn’t want on her bad side. The food she had tasted here was exquisite. No need to change that in the slightest. Also, she thought one of her roomies had told her about how the head chef was the strongest person on board. Yet another reason to keep Mag as a friend.

When Mag returned Lana found herself admiring the beauty of the other woman. She really knew what suited her best it seemed. Then again, Nikita seemed to know as well. She nearly laughed aloud when a thought swept through her mind that mutants must be, along with their power, all beautiful with great fashion sense. She hadn’t exactly seen an unattractive mutant yet. Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As she did a little spin for she and Nikita, Lana grinned. “You look great, Mag. No need to change.”

Nikita honestly did feel bad about growling at Lana, it was really apparent on her pretty features which were bunched up in concern. She gave Mag a slight smile, “I swear I didn’t mean to.” She pouted slightly at her friend, the pout melting into a frown. “You do too! Don’t lie. She’s lying.” Nikita looked over at Lana nodding her head.

Her head tilted a degree to the side as Lana said that she typically got that sort of reaction from the furrier species. “Huh. Me being a shapeshifter might explain it then? Since I was just in a puppy form yesterday.” She nodded her head once again, and then grinned as Lana said she’d go and so did Mag. She bounced on the balls of her feet, “Yay! I’ll be with people!” She blinked, and then rolled her eyes. “Not that I’m not around people a lot, just yeah…” Shaking her head she let out a small snort at herself.

Nikita blinked while Lana explained her powers. “Neat!” She replied, lips pursing a little bit. “That might also explain why I was growly and hissy earlier. I just get this feeling of…electricity from you? It’s hard to explain, but it’s like…” She paused, tongue slipping out to moisten her lips before she continue. “Rubbing a cat the wrong way? Yeah, I’m not making any sense.” She reached up, scratching her neck for a moment and shook her head. “But that’s the best way to describe it that I can come up with.” She gave Lana a bright smile, with a slight nod of her head.

When Mag came back into the galley, Nikita let out a low and long wolf whistle. “Nah, you’re good, and psh.” She waved a hand at Mag, “You need a girl’s night out, get away from my stinky brother.” She giggled, and lifted a shoulder. “I didn’t know anything about it until you just told me!” She bounced, “YAY! Finally.” She rolled her eyes, giving Lana a wink and a grin. “Seriously there has to be something in the water in Hawaii. Wasn’t half this bad in Paris, the city of lurve.” She purred out the last word, rolling her eyes.

She bounced around Mag and Lana, “Come on, come on let’s go!” She giggled, finally stopping and started her way out of the galley. She held the door open for both women, “After you, my dears.” She waited until both women had exited the room before she fell into step beside them. “Alright, drinking or gambling first? Or both?” She asked, swinging her hand with her clutch as her heels clicked against the flooring of the ship.

Mag chuckled, "See, we really don't let her out much, she gets excited over being with more than one person at a time." She gave Lana a wink, and quietly listened to the explanation of the other girl's powers. Had to be interesting to say the least. The ship was really full of interesting possibilities on powers.

Rolling her eyes at Nikita's reaction she gave a smile to Lana. "Thanks. Guess it's a good thing I can make most guys go through a wall with the three of us hitting Vegas." She snickered and looked at Nikita, "Then again I'm going ot have to buy this one a leash." Mag made a face, "Paris was fine and all but it kind of smelled." She lifted a shoulder, thinking of many reasons as to why people were all over each other in that city. The smell of another so close had to be better than the sewage or whatever it was that stunk up the place most of the time. Not that Mag had really minded it, she'd been in worse places, a chicken coop for one.

"At least Alex and I didn't get walked in on doing something naughty by the captain!" She laughed and waved a hand at Nikita's hurrying. Pursing her lips at the question she glanced over at Lana, "I say the new girl decides." She grinned and lifted a shoulder, "If it were me though I'd either go with both or drinking first so you can put up with this one." She pointed at Nikita.

Once they were off the ship, Mag smiled at the city lights. "Mmmm city." Mag muttered and rolled her eyes, "Makes me miss home even more." She smirked, just taking in everything that she could from one spot. For as long as Nikita and Lana would let her at least. Vegas was beautiful, as long as you didn't look too closely at the crazed gambling drunken people. "Sooo....where in the hell do we start?" Mag glanced one way, then the next. There were lights everywhere, places boasting of the best, highlighting whatever they had that was unique. Not that each place had something unique. This place said they had the best girls, that place the best slots, this place you could win a car at, etc. It was ridiculous really.

"Ok we've seen Vegas now it's time to go back to the ship." Turning slowly she waited for their reaction. She was a bit dazzled by it all. Not that she hadn't been in a large city before, but Vegas was Vegas. Large city was one thing and Vegas was a completely different thing. Here dreams were made and shattered by the drop of a hand and the clicking of coins.

Not that any of Mag's dreams were resting on Vegas. No, she had plenty of money stashed away. Plus she had the money in her pocket. She had nothing to worry about. Magdeline had time to burn, money to spend and friends to hang out with. Life was great. Just the lights were a bit gaudy and the food she could smell was...money laden.

Lana nodded at Niki, “I think you’re right. Animals have amazing senses that humans often lack. You can probably sense what they do about me because of your ability.” The mental prodding she had just given the girl was discreet and the darker femme wasn’t really hoping for too much of an explanation about just what the other might have sensed, as she had said earlier that she hadn’t known why she had growled. But perhaps she didn’t know why the action occurred, but what had caused said action, and that was what the Hawaiian wondered. She wasn’t disappointed, though, as she listened to Nikita give a rough explanation of what she had felt.

Electricity? Her brows cinched together. It seemed so strange. Why couldn’t she feel it herself? Or had it come to her so subtly that she never realised it was there? “Maybe I’ll seek out the good onboard doctors or something later on and they can figure out what the vibe is all about?” Lana shrugged.

Soon she found her mind off the topic, though, as she found Niki’s enthusiasm and energy to be quite contagious. In comparison to the blond, Mag seemed cooler and more relaxed, but simmering as if that excitement were simply waiting for a convenient opportunity to reveal itself. Or maybe she was wrong and had misread them. Either way, she found herself wanting to get to know the two women. She felt very comfortable around them, despite Niki’s discomfort and wouldn‘t mind joining in their playful banter once she had gotten to know them better.

“You’ve been to Paris? I’d never even been out of Hawaii until now. I’m looking forward to seeing other places. I was told this ship travels all over the world.” Lana’s awe was not hidden in her voice. She had always wanted to see the world outside Hawaii, but money was too tight for vacations elsewhere. “And the only thing in the water in Hawaii are the creatures that reside in them. Those waters are pretty clean despite all of the humans that litter them.” A soft chuckle emitted from her lips.

As they left the galley, Lana gave a mock curtsey and teased, “Thank you, m’lady,” before stepping out. When the question was posed and Mag elected her the deciding factor she shrugged her shoulders, a half smile on her lips. “I don’t see why both couldn’t be enjoyed at once.”

Once they had vacated the ship Lana took her time taking in the sight of Vegas. This was supposed to be in the desert, right? She could feel the dry quality of the air and she could have sworn the pollution could be tasted on ones’ tongue if they took the time to notice. Then again, in a city this lively a person might not be so inclined to find subtle faults. Also, she could just be imagining things.

She almost didn’t catch Mag’s words as she was taking the city into all of her senses, but Lana heard and turned and laughed touching the pretty red-head’s arm lightly. “Come on, young lady. We’re in a lively city. Let loose a bit.” Then, in a lower tone she added with a wink, “But not too loose.”

Nikita rolled her pale blue eyes, muttering a little something under her breath about ‘good friends’. She smiled over at Lana with a nod, “Yeah, see I retain animalistic characteristics up to two days after I do a long shift. So, maybe after those two days we can see if I still feel the same way?” She grinned at the other, bouncing a little in place. Her face paled a degree, and she shook her head at Lana. “Don’t go see the doctor. He’s scary.” She nodded, shuddering a little bit at the thought of Doc, even though she’d only met him once.

“Yes, it is a good thing!” Nikita grinned over at Mag, “I promise to be on my best behavior. Which, will be pretty good…I think.” Her face dropped into another pretty pout. “No, you don’t. I’m good, promise.” She all but whined at Mag, shaking her head at herself and then cleared her throat. She lifted her shoulders, “Yeah, we were just in Paris what? Five days ago or something?” She couldn’t remember honestly. Depression had griped her in its clutches the two days they’d been there, and all she’d done really was stay in her room and cry. She hated it, but it was just something that happened to her from time to time. “Ooooh, see I didn’t swim in the waters at Hawaii. Cody took me to another dimension, its part of his power, and it was really neat there. The waters were violet colored, and yeah.” She smiled fondly as she thought about that day, and then let out a soft sigh.

She giggled at Lana’s words, “You’re quite welcome.” She grinned, falling into step beside the two of them. “Well, if he’d actually waited a moment I could’ve told him to get lost, but nooooooo he had to just walk on in. So wrong.” She sniffled a little, pouting once again. “Alright, so which one of the big, bright casinos are we going to first?” She bounced as she walked, excitement bubbling through her veins.

She looked left and then right, growling softly at Mag. “Oh no, we’re going further than the gang plank, thankyouverymuch!” She nodded her head, bouncing a little bit in place. “Oh pooh.” She pouted over at Lana, “Why not too loose?” She teased the other, her face betraying her as her lips pulled up into a smile. “Fine, fine. Why don’t we just walk around, see which one catches our fancy?” She smiled, nodding her head. It sounded like a good idea to her.

She started walking, keeping her clutch close to her body as they made their way through the crowd of people. The bright lights did dazzle Nikita as well, but she was taking it all in stride. There were all sorts of callers on the sidewalks, yelling about the best deals, and all that. She shook her head, glancing over at Mag and Lana. “What about Wynn Las Vegas?” She asked raising a brow at the two of them.

"Yeah, bout a week ago sounds right." Mag lifted a shoulder and smiled at Lana. "We do go all over the place. I would tell you where we're going next but I haven't really heard anyone say. We'll know probably the day before. Things definitely don't stay secret on the ship for very long, if you haven't noticed already." She rolled her eyes and sighed, mocking a sad sigh.

Giggling a little she shook her head. Making a face she raised a brow at Lana, "You mean all the people that are nasty that get in the waters." She shuddered at the thought. Luckily the only thing that had been on her mind while she had been in the water was Alex. Everything about Alex. The boy looked great wet. He looked even better half naked and wet. Well, Alex just was hott. Period.

Shaking her head at Niki she clicked her tongue. "I'm sure there's a good excuse as to why your mouth wasn't running off to tell Nate to go away." Trying not to think on why she had said that, the thought that had crossed her mind as to why Nikita's mouth would be busy, and trying even harder to not picture it at all. Mag was too harsh on her own limited imagination for her own good.

She nodded, agreeing to walk around. She smirked at Lana's whisper, Nikita's answer and said herself, "Because I don't think the King's Ransom is fitted very well for babies, just yet, Nikita." She thought for a moment and looked over at her friend. "With you having been a puppy...would you have a litter?" She raised a brow, giving Lana a wink. It was a good question, at least Mag thought so.

As they walked she kept her head held high. Making a little bit of her Boomer side come out. Calm, cool, collected and deadly. Surely people would be less apt to mess with three women with all of them looking as confident as they were. Glancing at the Wynn she hummed in thought, "I don't see why not. Least it hints at more 'wins' than losses with the name." She snorted and rolled her eyes at herself on that one.

Part of Lana hoped that maybe it was just that Nikita was retaining some characteristics of her animal forms and that they wouldn’t be working on her in a couple of days. It would be a shame if Niki felt uncomfortable around the other femme twenty-four seven for reasons unbeknownst to her. Her brow rose when she saw the colour drain from the fairer woman and she told her not to see the doctor. “There’s only one doctor on a ship this size?” She asked, a little skeptically. Regardless of how frightening the doctor might be to the younger woman, she knew she had to see him. She hadn’t met him yet and she longed to find out what that “electrical” vibe Niki and every animal she had ever encountered had felt. Maybe she would even learn why she couldn’t feel it, and why it was even there. She doubted any other than a doctor or a scientist would be able to help her find out and doctors were the most easily accessible.

As she listened to Mag and Niki tell her vaguely of their travels Lana felt herself growing excited. Who ever really got the opportunity to say, ‘I shot someone with an explosive rock and that person invited me to join him and others like me to travel on an air ship all over the world and I‘d never even been outside of Hawaii!’? No one that she had ever known. It would be a great experience for her, she knew, to have people she could finally relate to without having to retain a secrecy that set her apart from them.

Lana laughed aloud as Mag’s question about a litter reached her ears. For a second she wondered if Nikita would be able to mate with whatever species she turned into effectively, but she didn’t voice the question. It was one better left unasked. Besides, she didn’t want to come off as a perverted fiend to these women because that wasn’t who she was. It would be a shame to finally be around her own kind just to be isolated for a bad first impression.

When Nikita proposed they go to Wynn Las Vegas Lana agreed just as Mag did. The darker femme had heard of the place. Who couldn’t have? And “wynning” did seem like a good plan. Though, that’s probably how they caught unlucky gamblers, but she didn’t plan on blowing all of her money on gambling. She would be good about it. Self-control was something she rarely lost and even then it only disintegrated when it came to her power and only on extremely rare occasions- so long as she was intelligent about it.

Nikita lifted a shoulder, “It happens. We lose people from time to time. Some leave, others…well.” She gave Lana a soft smile, “He’s the best though, scary as all hell, but the best.” She had at least heard that much about him, even if he did creep the holy hell out of her with his power. She shuddered a little bit, wrapping her arms around herself. “Yup, I haven’t heard either.” Her brows furrowed for a moment as she pursed her lips in thought, “I know why we stopped off in Vegas though, but haven’t heard anything past the three days here.” She lifted her shoulders again, not too concerned about where they were going next, just living in the here and now.

Nikita made a face, “Ewww.” She shook her head, shuddering again. “Nasty peoples in the water. You know, I’m seriously glad I didn’t watch the people on the beach, I’ve heard horror stories about Speedos.” She whined softly, and made another face.

She gave a look over at Mag, pale eyes narrowing a degree. “You know, I did have my reasons but I will not share those with the likes of you.” She snorted, tilting her head up and making a ‘humph’ sound. Her face screwed up into confusion for like, the fiftieth time that night. “Huh? I use protection, thank you very much. I don’t need any…” Her mouth dropped open, and she blinked as she looked over at the two of them. “I…” Her brows drew together, almost forming a single line. “I don’t know if I would or not.” She whined, looking back and forth between the two women. “That’s scary, no babies for me, ever!” She shook her head, shuddering one more time.

Then they were all for going to the Wynn, and her train of thought shifted from ‘litter’ to ‘oooh shiny’. She bounced, “So here we go to the Wynn.” She weaved her way through the crowd, glancing over at Lana. “So, Lana, what did you do in Hawaii? You know, before joining us? Tell us a little bit about you.” She grinned over at the other, geninuely curious about the other woman. She liked her, seriously she did, but she didn’t get near her too much as they walked. It was still odd, and Nikita really would’ve liked to have known what it was about the other that rubbed her the wrong way.

Niki just wanted Lana to like her, and for the other to be comfortable around her. She also didn’t want to growl or hiss anymore at the other. That was just embarrassing.

Finally they reached the grand doors of the Wynn, and Niki canted her head to the side. “Huh, there’s an art show here this week.” That might be something worth looking at, from the posters that were spread around the front of the casino the marble work was impeccable. She lifted a shoulder, smiling at the man at the front door as he opened it for them. “Thank you kind sir.” She inclined her head to him and then walked on in. She paused, waiting on Lana and Mag to enter. “So, slots? Tables? What?” She bounced in place, bright eyes looking everywhere.

Mag nodded as they talked of the doctor, "I think there's a few people who have training in the medical field, like a nurse or two. I'm not sure." She lifted a shoulder, "I seriously haven't looked into it." She gave a half laugh and shook her head. For one she hated doctors, all they did was poke, prod, test and retest for no reason. They weren't good for anything really. She could guess just as well as they could.

Grinning, Mag gave Lana a wink, "Mmmhmm, suuure you didn't watch people on the beach." She then looked at Lana, "So did you leave a lot of people behind? Or is your family with you or am I asking too many questions. I think I am, sorry." She held up her hands and gave a gentle smile at the other woman. "I think Nikita’s nosiness has rubbed off on me a little."

Giggling she rolled her eyes, "Yup, you better use protection. I'm not willing to help you feed a whole litter of...whatevers." She shook her head, "And I don’t think Lana here would help much either, would ya?" She grinned, nudging Lana's elbow with her own very gently. She paid close attention to how much strength she used with new people. She was so scared that she would hurt someone. Mag was really a gentle soul when it came down to it.

As Nikita asked to get some information on Lana, Mag smiled. She would like to hear a little about the other girl too. Just so she wouldn’t step out of line again with questions. Plus she could make sure that Nikita didn’t spout too much off the mouth about one thing or another that might offend the other. Not that Nikita did that much, just sometimes everyone gets a little excited. She hoped that Lana felt comfortable enough with them. Hoping that they weren’t making her feel left out with some of their banter with each other. Mag could never quite figure out how much was too much or too little when talking to a somewhat stranger.

Walking up on the Wynn, Mag took a deep breath. Stilling herself for the moment. Yeah, it would be loud inside and it’d be so much fun. Smiling over at the other two she then raised a brow at Nikita, "Kind sir?" She giggled and shook her head, "Must be her thinking of the art show." Canting her head to the side she took a moment to read the sign, "That would be interesting, has a little bit of everything it seems. Painting, sculptures, glass and whatever else there is to art." Not being a real big art buff herself Mag lifted a shoulder. She just liked looking at it when she could.

Entering she let her eyes adjust to the slight difference from the outside to the inside. "Drinks, then...um..." She lifted a shoulder, "Wanna try the slots first?" She smiled at the other, then raised a brow as a waiter passed by with a huge tray full of food and drinks. "Wow, I might be pretty strong but I'd spill half of that."

Lana listened to Niki tell her about the frightening, but great doctor on board, even if he seemed to be the only one. What could be so frightening about a doctor? She had never had a bad experience with doctors and thus lucked out, apparently. She also thought that maybe the fact that people were leaving all the time made it easier on any doctors and nurses on board, considering there wouldn’t be as many people as the ship could hold at one time going in for check ups or worse.

The older femme laughed. “Honey, you were only there a couple of days. I’ve had to live there my whole life. You don’t even know half of the horrors I’ve seen on the beach.” Then came an obvious question, but a personal one, too. She didn’t really think they would care to hear about her estranged mother and her hesitantly kind father, but she could skim the surface without really taking down the mood. Despite her power she didn’t ache to destroy everything around her, including joy. With a shrug she said, “No, don’t worry. How would anyone get to know others without being a bit nosy? The trick is knowing when you’ve probed too far and I assure you, Mag, that you’re still in a safe zone. The only people I left behind were my parents and a few acquaintances, but I’ve lived on my own for about nine years so there isn’t any wrenching heartache."

As soon as the subject changed to the potential “litter” of younglings Nikita might birth her lips twitched into a grin. “I don’t even know if a girl Niki’s size would be able to have a litter, Mag. Unless they were the size of a kitten or puppy or something. I suppose the next time we landed we could take them from her to give to others as pets in case they have huge appetites.” Lana teased.

She made her way through the crowd after Nikita and Mag. She was so glad she had spent such a long time on the deck of the ship hurling charged rocks that she brought with her over the side. Losing control in a place like this would be disastrous.

Her smile was ever present as her eyes busied themselves taking in the sights of the Wynn. Her attention was cast back toward Niki, however, when the woman tossed some questions her way. “Hrm… Before I met a couple of kind mutants who welcomed me on board I used to work at a four star hotel where I was head of the cleaning staff. Nothing glamorous. Just trying to make my rent while saving up as much money as I could for a better place. But with all the tourism there the wages were pretty decent. Before that I just worked wherever I could. I waitresses at a good restaurant and eventually worked my way up to sous chef there. I used to think I was a good cook until I ate the food on the Ransom.” Her brow creased in thought and she turned her head toward Mag. “You’re head chef right? Your food is magnificent. I didn’t want to stop eating. A person could know their stomach is about to explode and not care because it’s so delicious. Anyway, I guess there isn’t much to my life until the big uproot from the only state I’ve ever lived in to the ‘cruise’ ship I’m on now. What about you two?”

Lana nodded to the doorman in thanks and suddenly found herself within the Wynn. Her eyes wouldn’t stop. She had seen some fairly fantastic things in Hawaii, but not like this. It didn’t shock her that there would be art on display, but she did wonder how much the artists would have had to pay to be allowed to showcase here. “I love art.” She said simply and honestly. The only bad thing about it was how much it frustrated her to try and make it, but the end result- if she hadn’t blown it up before it made it to a completed result- always delighted her. It showed her that she could create beautiful things, that she wasn’t simply a destructive force. Of course, blowing up things that frustrated her was amusing in its own right, but she needed something more positive to keep her going every now and again. The mutant would definitely stop at some point to look at the artwork. “Mmm… Drinks sound good. I’m parched. Must be the dry desert air. Slots sound like a good idea. Something easy to start us out that we won’t lose too much money on.” She watched Mag’s line of sight for a moment and shrugged. “He must have great endurance to be able to carry that around, and balance.”

Nikita knew all too well about how Mag felt about doctors. Niki herself had avoided them at all possible costs, but apparently she wasn’t going to get away with this one. Or at least that was the feeling she was getting. No matter, she’d avoid him for as long as she possibly could.

Niki rolled her eyes at Mag, and then giggled at Lana’s words. “I so did not people watch and you poor thing. I’m sure that you witnessed more than your fair share.” She nodded her head vigorously, and then canted it to the side. “I’m not nosy, I’m curious. Difference!” She held up a hand, waving it about in the air and shook her head. She listened as Lana spoke, “Well, at least it wasn’t hard, well too hard anyways.” Niki bit her bottom lip, worrying the tender flesh with her teeth for a moment.

Pale eyes blinked, “Nooooo! You’d give away my babies?” She wibbled slightly at the other two, eyes going wide and big before she giggled. “Not that I blame you two really, but you know I highly doubt that I’d be able to either.” She shook her head once more, and then shuddered again for good measure. “I mean seriously, what sort’ve person would I be if I didn’t use protection from such unwanted things?” Niki didn’t really like being tied down, and she didn’t really ever want to start a family. Those sorts of things took a lot of energy, and it was dangerous for mutants. She couldn’t bear the thought of putting her children though something like her and Alex had gone through.

Niki’s brow rose, “Who did you meet?” She asked, smiling a little as Lana proceeded to talk about herself. “Sounds good to me! And YES! Mag’s food is the best ever!” She bounced a little as she walked; she loved her friend’s cooking and could never get enough. “I’ll tell you this, I could and probably would eat the Ransom out of…house and home?” Her brows furrowed, and she shook her head. “You get the general idea, but anyways, yeah. I could totally do it on my own if Mag would let me.” She nodded once again, and then frowned slightly at the question Lana posed.

“My parents were killed, both of them were mutants. So Alex and I left Oklahoma, going wherever we could. We’d work, but it wouldn’t be enough to pay for a hotel room, or whatever so I took to playing the part of a…easy woman.” She smirked a little bit, “Alex, or myself would steal from them and go about our merry way. Until we tried to steal from a member of the King’s Ransom about a year ago, and now…” She grinned, shrugging her shoulders. “Things are seriously looking up for the two of us. Don’t gots to worry bout a thing.” It was true they had the easy life, for the most part, now.

She rolled her eyes again at Mag, “Yeah, yeah. He held the friggen’ door, even though I know it’s his job, but still. How many people actually tell him ‘thank you’?” She raised a brow at Mag, and shook her head. “I do a little bit of abstract painting, personally.” She lifted a shoulder, looking around and watched the waiter as he passed. “Meh, you could do it, Mag. Just don’t let me near you.” Her brows rose slightly at the mention of endurance. “Hmm…” She started to follow after him, getting distracted by the jingling bells of someone hitting a jackpot.

“Yes, drinks then slots.” She nodded, grinning over at the two women as she started towards the nearest bar. She sat down, playing with the napkin in front of her for a moment before the bartender came up. She grinned at him, only to get a ‘may I see your id’ and her face fell. She muttered for a moment, pulling her id out and handed it over. Once he was satisfied with her age, she took her id back from him. “I’ll have a Chocolate Martini.” She nodded, bouncing a little on her stool as she waited on the other girls to place their orders and for him to fetch it.

Nodding as Lana talked about who she had left behind she smiled, "Well I'm glad. I guess, I think it's ok to be glad that you won't be so homesick right?" She shrugged her shoulders and sighed. "I'm a chef, not too good with the whole communicating thing apparently." She gave a small sheepish smile. "One of my professors said that a chef is one step down from a mob boss and one step up from a wolf. So I guess that gives me a good enough excuse right?" She grinned, running a hand along the back of her neck. She really was awkward at the whole 'getting to know people' phase. She'd much rather just skip ahead, give facts point blank and move on. If Mag could fast forward time to where they would be friends or enemies or just there around each other she would.

"We would have to give them away! You ought to see how much SHE eats, her pups or kittens or whatever they would be would probably start eating the ship itself!" Mag giggled and shook her head. It would be sad really. Looking over at Niki she smiled and lifted a shoulder. "It'd be alright, I'd have to double my supply pick up if you got pregnant either normally or the whole litter thing." She gave a grin at her friend. All this talk of getting pregnant was making her a bit nervous. Then there was thinking on the act of getting pregnant and yeah...no. Not a good thing to think about while going out on Vegas with other girls and not the significant other. It would be worse thinking of it with him, she'd definitely be blushing and stumbling all over herself.

Speaking of blushing, Mag did such as she listened to them talk about her cooking. "It's not THAT good." She shook her head at the both of them. "You both can probably cook better than me." Lifting a shoulder she tried to think of something to change the subject on. She wondered who Lana did run into that brought her back to the ship. Had it been Nate? She pursed her lips, the captain always seemed pretty busy with being out and about. Who knew? "Um, thanks." She smiled at them.

Listening to Nikita talk about her and Alex's family she sighed. It was sad. She knew there was more to the story, some she knew, some she figured was left out on purpose. She wasn't one to push. After all, they didn't know what had happened to her under the whole 'testing' phase she had to go under with some doctors and whoever else wanted to poke and prod at her. Mag lifted a shoulder yet again. "I was found out, sent away from everything I knew. Captured once for a little while, then on the run again. Somehow I managed to be in the right place at the right time and got on the ship. My parents are still alive, had to take on different names though, and I can't keep in contact with them too much." She sighed and shook her head.

"Nothin to cry over." She smirked a little. "True." She murmured when Nikita talked about the door man. She really needed to loosen up a little, not everyone was out to get them. Giggling a little she gave a wink at Lana, "Mention a guy might be able to go all night long with something and she does that." She paused for a moment, "If I wasn't taken I'd go and see."

Following them to the bar, she glanced around, then gave a small smile to the bartender. She had to laugh at Nikita's predicament then gave her order, "78 Camaro, please." She could sip on one of those all night and never feel it in the morning. Depending on the maker. She drummed her fingers against the bar top. Oh yeah, there was energy just oozing from this place. "You know if you could feed off others, Vegas would be the place to be." She murmured to the other two, making sure no one else could hear them, she hoped.

“The only difference between being nosy and being curious is that if you’re simply curious you don’t nosily seek the answers. As you can see there is a very fine line.” Lana teased the fairer woman. Her face contorted from a look of mischievous taunting to a look of seriousness. “Yeah, I suppose it is easier this way.” A small smile returned to her lips. “Even if there’s any twinge of homesickness I’ll have to make my home with you guys. What reason is there to feel home sick when you’re already home, right?” Dark eyes twinkled at Mag, regaining some of their joy rather quickly. “Maybe your professor was right. I can see the snarling beast in you just waiting to get out so it can command others to kill its enemies.” The femme joked, chuckling softly.

Lana laughed aloud. “Yes. I’m inclined to agree with, you, Mag. I can imagine a woman like Niki, combined with one or more little ones, would eat us all out of a home. And me before I ever get the chance to make it mine!” She didn’t know that Niki wasn’t right in not wanting children, though. Who would really want to raise a child who would have a high chance of being a mutant in a world where mutants were lesser beings? She had had a scare once a few years ago, but it amounted to nothing. It made her more careful as well. Finding out that the would-be-father was with an anti-mutant group after they’d done the deed had been more terrifying than if she had actually been pregnant. It made her more careful about who she dated and what they might do during that time. In fact, celibacy had made her dates fewer and fewer until she simply stopped dating for almost a year altogether.

The femme mentally shook her head to clear away those thoughts in favor of answering Nikita’s question. “I met Drake and… I think his name is… Kesh. They’re the ones who invited me on board.” Not surprisingly she hadn’t seen a speck of a clue about them since. On a ship the size of the King’s Ransom she didn’t expect to for a while, but she knew she’d end up looking for them eventually.

“Oh, hush Mag! If I were a better cook I wouldn’t hesitate to let you know. And obviously you’re a better cook than Niki here or she would take your job. You don’t become a head chef by people cooking better than you.”

Hearing Mag and Niki talk about what they left behind made her feel a bit bad. Compared to these two Lana had a relatively easy, painless life. Her parents were still alive, even if she might as well have been dead to her mother, and she could still communicate with her father, even though they both chose to keep it to a minimum. Thoughts were turned elsewhere when Niki started walking away from the other two girls and Mag commented about it. “Hah! Yes. It’s no wonder she hasn’t gotten herself knocked up.” She smirked.

Lana followed her companions to the bar and slipped onto a stool. She found herself wondering how old Niki really was when the woman was carded. She looked younger than the Hawaiian obviously, and maybe even younger than Mag. She couldn’t be certain. Was her I.D. even real? On a ship like the Ransom it wouldn’t be difficult to have fake I.D.’s; it might even be best that way. As it were, Lana had her real I.D. even if she wasn’t asked to reveal it. It was a good thing she had never registered as a mutant. Having an I.D. with that marking it would never be good. “I’ll have a Cosmopolitan martini.” When the bartender’s attention left the three women she heard Mag speak. Dark eyes shifted and looked about the place. “I don’t know about the Wynn necessarily, but from the horror stories I’ve heard about Vegas in general, I wouldn’t really want a taste of the people here. Even the higher class might have a bad taste about them.”

Nikita laughed, pointing at Mag. “HA! See, what she said.” She nodded her head, smirking over at her best friend. “There is a very fine line, and we did not cross it. One, because we don’t like other people nosing around in our business and two,” She thought for a moment, “We’re not like that.” Nikita grinned, still bouncing on the balls of her feet as she walked. She smiled reassuringly over at Lana, “Trust us we’ll do everything that we can to make you feel more at home. Plus if you ever get homesick, we’ll totally have a girl’s night, binge on ice cream and watch sappy movies or somethin’.” Nikita’s eyes went a little wide at Mag’s professor’s statement and she took a small step away from her friend. “So, what’d that make you? I mean, really. Because that’s a really, really, really thin line, Mag.”

Nikita rolled her eyes once again as they talked about her, “See, all this talk about food is making me hungry and I can’t believe you still!” She pouted over at both of them, “I’m not that bad, and any children I ever did have would be sweet, lovable little things until you pissed them off.” A large grin graced her lips for a moment, and she lifted her shoulders. “Nah, they’d probably eat the whole damn ship, then everyone in it, and then take over the world.” Her head tilted softly to the side and a thoughtful look came across her features. “That might not be such a bad idea…” She mused to herself. But it was highly unlikely that Nikita would ever have children just because of her own fears. It wasn’t safe, and if she married, or got pregnant by another mutant there was no telling what powers their children would have.

Pale blue eyes widened once again, “You were welcomed on the ship by Drake? Kesh, I understand, but not so much Drake.” She shook herself, and made a slight face. “I like Drake…I think. I don’t know something about him gives me the willies. Blame it on him being a feral.” If there was one thing Nikita did it was speak the truth, most of the time anyway. She’d tell Drake to his face that he gave her the willies, and she could only imagine what his reaction would be.

Nikita nodded her head, “Yup! Far better, I’d burn down the kitchen. Poor Alex, when we were living in hotel rooms he’d have to eat burned food, or fast food because I can’t cook at all.”

She knew most of Mag’s story, and like her friend she knew that some things had been left out. Nikita also understood that some of those things could be, and probably were painful memories to relive. So whatever Mag felt comfortable telling her, she’d listen to just as she knew the other would do for her. “Yes, so he deserves a little thanks too.” She nodded about the doorman, and then stuck her tongue out at Lana and Mag both. “I’m not that easy.” She looked around the Wynn for a moment, and then shrugged her shoulders. She eyed Mag for a moment, “Ummhmm, cheat on my brother and you’ll think eat you out of house and home.” She teased with a smirk, and then shook her head.

It surprised Nikita that none of the other’s got carded. “Do I look that young? Hell.” She shook her head, and then twirled around on the barstool. “Ok, I act that young.” She waved a hand and then thanked the bartender with a wink as he brought their drinks out. Reaching into her purse she pulled out her cash, “First round on me, ladies.” She paid the man, and then made a face. “Eww, I…ew.” She shuddered at the thought and held her glass up, “A toast ladies, to long lasting friendships,” She inclined her head to Mag, “And to new ones that will last just as long.” She grinned over at Lana, waiting on the other two to clink their glasses against hers. Once they’d done that she took a sip of her martini, letting out a content purr.

Licking her lips she sat her glass back down, “You know,” She lowered her voice looking at the other two. “I don’t know if I know someone who has that power. The feeding off of other people. Wouldn’t that make them like a vampire of some sorts?” Blonde brows furrowed, and she thought for a long moment. Shrugging her shoulders she took another sip of her drink, eying the Hershey’s kiss at the bottom of the glass. “And why can’t they just give me like a handful of these things?”

Grinning Mag nodded, "Exactly, and the King's is a good home. I'm glad that we all found it, or found someone willing to share it." She lifted a shoulder, none of them had really found it, when she thought about it. They had been found for the ransom in all reality. "Oooh, I say we do that anyways. Just make a night each month or something to have a girl's night in or out. If one of us is getting down in the dumps then we make another night in, added to the regular one." She grinned at the other two, already wanting to do such and making a list of snacks she could make for the lot of them. Blinking owlishly, Mag stared at the others and then laughed, "I guess that does make me the wolf then? I don't think I'd be a really good mob boss, I can barely run my kitchen help." She gave the other two a wink and a grin.

Giggling and shaking her head she clicked her tongue. "Poor children, or rather poor ship and all us crew!" She raised a brow as she listened to Nikita and rolled her eyes. "You'd let them eat all of us! See how she is." Mag snorted and waved a hand at Nikita. Giggling a little as she changed her voice to an odd tone to say, "World domination! With Nikita's young, my boss abilities and Lana's electrifying presence we'd rule the world in no time!" She canted her head to the side, "Well somewhat electrifying...and if we didn't get eaten before we could step off the ship to claim another city."

"Interesting." Mag smiled and nodded, "Drake probably saw boobs and thought he needed another pair to stare at from the rafters above." She cleared her throat and made a sheepish face, "Then again, I'm not really sure what he looks at, I'm just assuming with the way he acts and everything." She lifted a shoulder and smiled, "Kesh is an alright guy, what little I've got to spend with him."

"Oh please, with the right practice anyone can become a great chef, trust me. I could probably give you all some classes and in no time you'd be making your own recipes, and your styles would be out of this world." Mag smiled, not so sure about compliments at all. She liked them, but didn't know what to do with them once receiving. They made her just a little uncomfortable was all.

Mag grinned, "Aha! See, it's not just me that thinks that way!" She put a hand on Lana's shoulder, grinning at Nikita. Rolling her eyes after what Nikita said, Mag waved the hand that she had put on Lana's shoulder. "Trust me, if I cheated on your brother I'd deserve whatever you could dish out and then some." She was so glad to have Alex, finally, after all that time of just...waiting. What she had been waiting for, she didn't really know now. Over what used to be a great big wall, looking back it seemed like a small bump in the road of her life. Now they were together, he was happy, she was happy and all was well. She hoped it'd stay well for a while.

Highly amused at the whole situation of Nikita getting carded and the other two not, she smiled, "Well I guess if he thinks the youngest looking of us is of age then we're fine as well." Snorting she shook her head. "Oh, I didn't think of that." Mag made a face, "They'd taste of greed or something like that. I bet stuff like sin is kinna raunchy. Maybe like the taste of pure mustard with ramps." She made another face and shuddered. "I guess they would technically be vampires. I read somewhere that there are real vamps out there, just allergic to the sun or have some kind of blood disease." She sighed and shook her head.

Grinning over at Niki she shook her head, "Because they figure you're already bouncy enough?" Giggling she took a sip of her drink after holding it up toward Lana and Nikita for the toast. "Thanks Niki, the next one can be on me." She took yet another sip and started eying the machines. "So which slots do we want to try? The cheap ones?"
