To: 'Scroll Staff' From: 'Simon Liebowitz - Head Editor' Subject: Page Three Initiative
Alright team, listen up! I've had a revolutionary idea. Our circulation has been low lately, and to counteract it I say we take a page from our friends across the pond, so to speak. I propose we introduce a new feature in the Scroll:
PAGE THREE GIRLS!
Now I don't want anyone making any close-minded snap judgments about this - page three girls are a tried and true initiative and a tasteful way to add a little bit of pizazz to a medium that is oft perceived as dry and clinical. Give us a little oomph. I'll start a drive for models, but I was thinking a great way to get the ball rolling would be to feature one of our own in the flagship article!
So, what do you say Julie?

WHO: Lea Quesada (THE AUDREY RAMIERZ) WHAT: Hello, Miss Quesada, welcome to Nightmareland, USA. WHEN: Extreme early morning of Wednesday, 3 September. WHERE: The Quesada bedroom at Unprecedented Failhouse. RATING: R for language at times, along with some gross things. (Way to make Disney not appropriate, Allison.)
( So she coped, as one is wont to do: from Fanta to coffee in the mornings, lots of kicking shins in the middle of labs, taking little snippets of naps and allowing Santo to take the wheel. )

You have to understand
Look. I didn't know it was your father. Alfred let him in without informing me, as he apparently recognized him from his old tutoring days. I didn't. I found a strange, harried man sitting in my home, eating my food, completely at his ease. What did you expect me to do? I have nothing but my privacy, Grace. And I'm the son of a bloody diplomat. What if it had been some sort of attack? What if I'd walked in and it wasn't a man in my chair, but a man with a bomb strapped to his chest?
I overreact I shouldn't
I made a mistake

CAMPUS REBUILDS AFTER NATURAL DISASTER DESTROYS PROPERTY, LIVES? by Simon M. Liebowitz
With Tropical Storm Fay having moved on to wreak its carnage on other parts of our poor country, the citizens of Kingdom are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives - at least, those that survived. ( Keep reading... )
MYSTERIOUS ROOM CLOSURE OBFUSCATED BY UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION by Simon M. Liebowitz
As any with classes in Innovation C have now come to realize, the administration of Kingdom University have imposed an arbitrary closure of Room 356 with no warning or explanation. If they thought they could commit such random totalitarian acts without questions being asked, they were unfortunately wrong. ( Keep reading... ) | |

The Sorcerer's Scroll SPECIAL EMERGENCY SURVIVAL EDITION August 19, 2008 by Simon M. Liebowitz
ATTENTION STUDENT BODY: This is an urgent emergency edition of the Scroll to be used as a SURVIVAL COMPANION throughout the impending tragedy of Tropical Storm Fay. We here at the Scroll are devoted to the well-being of our readership, and intend to arm you with the information necessary to help you persevere through the ravages of a storm that left Naples looking like New Orleans post-Katrina. Any storm that can move from Italy to Florida in the span of one day is destined to have devastating effects!
Upon first signs of landfall it is imperative that citizens make for the highest possible point available with the utmost haste. As Kingdom University is not far above sea level flash flooding is almost guaranteed. If you are in a vehicle evacuate immediately and make for high ground. While still water may appear safe, do not, repeat, do not make any attempts to swim to your destination, for the rising waters will not only be beset by strong currents become dangerous hunting grounds for the indigenous alligator population, as well as more dangerous creatures moving inland from the sea.
Furthermore, stay away from trees, towers or any other likely conduits for lightning strikes. Furthermore stay away from electrical appliances and computers, and avoid using cell phones, for if lightning strikes a communication tower at the right moment it could send lethal feedback directly through said device and into your body. It is strongly advised that any networked electronic devices be destroyed immediately for the sake of one’s personal safety.
In the very likely event of a tornado… Well, this reporter prays that such an event never comes to pass, for all that would be left is to make peace with your respective god and accept the consequences we’ve brought down for thinking ourselves the masters of Mother Nature.
From those of us here at the Scroll, good luck… and godspeed.

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR CHANCELLOR. |
[ |
August 18th, 2008 @ 4:16pm
| ] |
The Kingdom University campus will be closed on Tuesday, August 19, due to Tropical Storm Fay's potential impact to Central Florida. All KU activities both on campus and at off-campus locations are canceled for Tuesday. KU will reopen for regular operations at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20 unless you are otherwise notified by email and/or local news media. As with all such impending serious weather events, a number of factors are considered when making the decision on whether to close the University. This includes at a minimum important preparation time for students, faculty and staff, as well as potentially unsafe driving conditions to and from the campus. Safety is the university’s top priority, and this decision will allow students and employees to concentrate on preparing for Fay The KU website will be updated regularly with more information, so keep your eyes on http://news.kingdom.edu. Thank you all for your cooperation, Chancellor Michael Eisner
