Authors' notes: Thank you, stellastars, for the beta.
Bill glanced around to make sure he didn't miss anything important and assumed not, since Shacklebolt played with the Muggle tie he wore, twisting it in his hands. Molly was silent during the meeting led by McGonagall - no one had seen Ron, Hermione or Harry for months, not since the wedding, and none of the Order had any idea where to look for them. Bill could see the stress on his father's face in the form of frown lines.
Mostly, from the last war, he recalled his parent's fear. Bill never expected a second war. He'd heard about the first and he even remembered some of the funerals. An Order meeting, however, was not the time to let his mind wander. Now, as he sat in his Mum's kitchen, he realized their fear had become his own in some ways. Scared for his wife's safety obviously, he also feared for his friends, the other Order members who didn't seem to have anyone left. Like Remus. Though they hadn't attended Hogwarts together, Bill and Remus had a solid friendship - Fenrir had seen to that.
Bill stopped Remus following the meeting, "Don't forget about dinner tonight at our home. You can Apparate or take the Floo, whichever you want." That was another sign his mother was stressed: she rarely offered to cook for the gatherings any longer.
Remus was glad to have found a good friend in Bill, although it killed him to see the once-handsome face so disfigured. Remus had only a small scar on his shoulder, but one that caused much more inconvenience and pain than Bill's visible ones. At least Bill would not go through the trauma and ostracism of being a full werewolf.
He nodded, accepting the dinner invitation. He enjoyed spending time with Bill and Fleur. She liked to have him over for dinner and her food was delicious, cooked in French fashion. She was a strong-willed woman, but it was obvious that she truly loved Bill.
Too bad Remus did, too.
