Belle was settling in to this new place. While the dinosaurs weren't ideal, there were certain things about the city that made for a nice change from Storybrooke. First and foremost was the fact that Rumple was not around. Though she had loved him once, and she would always be grateful to him for the child he had helped to create, her first priority had to be her son. He was not safe from Rumple and she would not allow him to be hurt. Rumple would always choose power over love and their child would suffer for it the way she had. The way Neal had. The way so many had. And there were other things too. She had made friends here. She'd found a job at a local bookshop and she helped at the library on weekends. She had her own place, where she was learning to be independent. And she had coffee with Eddie on Sundays. Well, not coffee. Not for her. She was fairly certain she wasn't supposed to have that. But she had hot chocolate and Eddie had whatever he felt like having that day. Neither of them were quite sure what to make of the city and it was good to have someone who understood. So they had made a habit of meeting up and talking. While early conversations had been awkward - apparently she was what Eddie had called a 'Disney princess', whatever that meant, and she'd had to correct some of his ideas about her life - she found she enjoyed spending time with someone who she could just talk to. Today was a regular Sunday, sitting by the window of the coffee shop. Her hands were wrapped around her cup of hot chocolate, her gloves sitting on the table. It was starting to get cold, but she found that she didn't mind it. It was a nice change. "So," she asked Eddie as she glanced out the window. "How are things going for you?" |
