Anyone may join, HOWEVER, we do ask that everyone PLEASE follow these rules: 1.) Never under any circumstance may you post anything written/drawn by anyone else. Please post your own creations only. Likewise, no plagiarizing fics, original works, or copying someone else's art. Should you use anything created by someone else, proper credit must be noted. This is common knowledge. 2.) Do not share your age in either posts or comments within the community. It may cause problems for some authors or artists who deal with more explicit works. 3.) Do not bash on certain pairings or certain kinds of writing-- even if something may not be your forte, keep in mind that it is horribly rude to pick on other people's interests. 4.) No archiving without the author/artist's permission. 5.) Post all fanfiction using the LJ-CUT tag, following with the posting guidelines below. Include ALL warnings on your fanfiction. (along with ratings and pairings) as follows: Title - Author - (unless the name you are posting under is the LJ name you want noted in the memories [if applicable] and not a writing LJ) Rating - Warnings - Pairings - Disclaimers - If desired, band information, author's notes, etc. may be added, but at the minimum, if it's meant to be read as a piece of creative writing regarding Jrock/ers, it must be properly labeled. This applies to fanart, and desktops *UNLESS* the graphics are worksafe. Please include in the subject line of the post, in order -- pairing, band, title, and chapter number if applicable. Ex: [fic] Name/Name - Band - Title - Chapter Number. As of June 23, 2006, if proper headers are not used, the post/fic will not be updated to the memories. edit: memory updates have been put on hiatus ending in August 2005. please refer to the band tags, or suggest tags here. 6.) If you are posting graphics of any kind, they must be no more than 75 pixels tall by 300 pixels wide maximum - a reasonably sized banner. Some minor size change is fine, but large graphics without a cut are not allowed. You may, of course, indicate and include a larger banner or graphic under a lj-cut. Please heed the graphics rule to prevent graphics from being banned altogether (we don't want that. truly.). Per this post, warnings will no longer be provided and posts violating the rules are subject to immediate deletion. Of course, if a warning is provided, please heed it. 7.) Please take care posting stories involving death, rape, or self-mutilation. Use your judgment on this one -- these are sensitive topics for many, which has caused friction in the past. While there are many other ways of writing angst without losing sight of tact, such stories are not forbidden to be posted. At the same time, any fic dealing with any of these subjects is posted at the author's risk and *must* contain proper warnings. If you have any questions about this rule, feel free to ask. ^_^ 8.) Be nice. If you feel the need to squabble, do it somewhere else. Use wisdom in your posting and/or commenting-- do not flame or otherwise provoke conflict within the community. 9.) Give feedback from time to time, and don't be afraid to hand out a little constructive criticism. It helps. Really. 10.) Do not spam the community unless it is in relation to J-rock fanfiction or fanart. For example, promoting a jrock fanfic archive, RP community, pairing community, pairing clique, rec site, or whathaveyou is perfectly OK! If it's slashable, it's more or less promotable. 11.) No entries posted to JRY may have the comments disabled. Comments allow for concrit, suggestions, praise, and communication from the admins to the posters/writers. There is zero reason to disallow comments. Additionally, if fake cuts are utilized in posts, they may not link to locked LJs. "friend me if you want to read!" No. No one should be coerced, however mildly, just to read anyone's work. If you wish to link off-comm, please be courteous and make sure the fic you're posting is accessible.
