![]() HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR The streets are lined with thousands of trinkets, exotic clothing, and even exotic weaponry. Enjoy good food, good people, and busy streets today in Chinatown. Police are stationed at every corner to make certain that the festivities remain calm and enjoyable. It's going to be a happy new year! Right about now despite being early morning hours - thousands have gathered for the parade to be held this afternoon. There is barely any parking unfortunately, so it's recommended that if you're going to attend you take the subway or other means of public transportation. Arrive early, or you'll miss the the dragon-dancers, and martial arts performers from around the world. Some have made their own costumes and begun to perform in the streets as well. The JH Corporation has provided a holographic flying "Luck Dragon" that looks, as we've been informed, "terribly realistic"! Children are both full of delight and fear as they stare up at it's bright colors, and intricate scales. They have helped provide a dome over the larger city buildings so that the electromagnetic creation stays only within Chinatown's main streets. It weaves, and twirls underneath the slightly darkened covering, sound effects are said to be "terribly realistic" as well. If anything, this spectacle alone is a reason to get down there. |
MIRACLE IN STATEN ISLAND If you would've asked Alan Farrar if he believed in miracles last week, he'd undoubtedly give you a huff of a no, followed by his signature side glance which indicates suspicion and curiosity among his peers. He'd never really experienced anything super natural, or even remotely out of the ordinary growing up. A father of five, he was used to the routine of when one of the kids fell ill, all of them would. A flu came over the household, but one child seemed unaffected. Strange, but a good thing most would say. That was until suddenly, Christina Farrar, age 5, at school collapsed with an abrupt fever. An ambulance was called immediately, she was rushed to the emergency room where most feared she'd receive brain damage from the intensity of the temperature inside of her trembling body. She had a very rare illness that for privacy's sake shall remain undisclosed. Later on in the night, doctors confirmed she had sustained partial brain damage. Alan and his wife were devastated. They looked over the charts the doctor provided, areas of what were irreparable highlighted in a brilliant orange. Remaining at her bedside through out the night, once his wife fell asleep Alan says: "I prayed for the first time in my life since I was little. I prayed hard. I wanted nothing in the world but for my little girl to just.. have her life again. You know? ". Alan and his wife fell asleep at their daughters beside and upon waking, the two were greeted by the sound of Christina's voice. More tests confirmed that she'd somehow made a full recovery within the night. No signs of brain damage, after follow-up tests, were found. If you asked Alan Farrar now if he believed in miracles? He'd say yes. |
