This project spans nearly a year by now, but sometime in the summer last year I got my hands on a book about Photoshop 7 (courtesy of the university library) and eventually started taking notes. Half a year later (aka earlier this year) I got the book again and this time I was determined not only to take notes, but to type them up as well.
I offered to translate it as I go (while typing it up) and I found someone who was interested (giving me a reason for my already existing wish to translate it). I ended up finding out about a file where Photoshop stores the translations, I had a trusted online dictionary available and had realised that there were plenty of screencaps of menus, palettes and other things. That certainly helped me find the translations easier (Every now and then I also found out other interesting things and added them)
To summarize what you will find: - Step by Step instructions for recording and using actions - Key combinations and useful tips on what you can do with the tools Photoshop has to offer - There are also general informations on tools, layers, the differences between similar tools and other things that might be useful
Anyway, I uploaded a version to Google Docs an published it: http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=dgqfgwjh_26djx8wcv4&hl=en For those who would like to add to it (or simply prefer a .doc): http://www.mediafire.com/file/5znd52zymv1/Photoshop7.doc I also saved a .pdf: http://www.mediafire.com/file/yzzdazbzlwy/Photoshop7.pdf
And as a last note to those who might want to print it: There are two tables in there that are a bit wider than the page average. I printed it myself and both were still completely on it.

If you want an icon changed, e.g. (different) text added or whatever, feel free to ask. Any results will be posted with the next batch.
Please Note: #043 doesn't have an icon. I accidentally typed a number there and I don't want to change 110 numbers after that just to take it out (since getting the numbers straight is the worst part of coding)

This will hopefully be the first of several screencaps posts in the near future. There are quite a few folders "sleeping" on my computer that are in need of zipping and uploading.
These are for the episode "A Moment of Truth". There 2000 images and the zip file is 187 MB.

So... about 10 challenges ago at severalplums @ LJ I made my first couple of texture sets and since then I've made a few more... and now I've finally remembered to post them at a point where I had time to upload everything... The set with the large textures is basically the original pictures that I used for the individual icon sets.

Well, I once again won at severalplums @ LJ and this is my tutorial for the winning icon. It was actually due last weekend and was posted there at the time... I just didn't have enough time to post it elsewhere until today.
The icon was made in Photoshop CS3 and uses Levels, Curves and Brightness/Contrast layers.

Some of the "coloured" icons were made during a challenge that allowed a small amount of colour and some (the Pushing Daisies ones) where made simply because I thought that it would look brilliant (which also meant I couldn't submit them ;) )
Additionally, I've got three more "icontest folders" waiting to be turned into posts... 2 non-fandom specific ones and 1 fandom specific one (for various fandoms)... there are more icons than that as well, but not enough for me to turn into posts yet :D

I made first at severalplums' texture challenge and this is my tutorial for it. I think I made this originally in PS CS3 (using PS7 to compare with my notes and make the pictures used in this tutorial) using primarily filters.
Warning: This tutorial is image heavy! ( click here for the tutorial )
Feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear or just because :)

Can't believe I've managed to post fic again... I still have two stories I got back from a beta sitting in my inbox waiting to be looked, but I just don't seem able to find the time for it - or even the muse. Then again - I didn't think I'd get so far over the minimum of 1000 words for this one either.
Title: Happy New Year – 51st century style Author: JE / immortalje Pairing: Jack/Rose/9 Summary: Jack, Rose and the Doctor celebrate the new year 51st century style. Rating: FRT Words: 2692 AN: This was written for tardismate as part of the OT3 Ficathon 2009 on LJ. My prompt was: "Ten, Rose and Jack celebrate the New Year in the far future on Earth. Do not want: angst" I hope this meets expectations as the plot came along nicely, but for the longest time the words just wouldn't cooperate to make this a nice read instead of just plot.
