Greetings!
I'm Dawn, the auxiliary mod -the one who does a lot of the coding so if something is broke, let me know and I'll fix it. Since the game opens on Friday I figured I'd make an intro post like Tereesa did. I've got three characters right now, a fourth is in the works, but I'm in no rush on him and might hold off finishing him until the game gets going a bit more. Which will give me time to re-read most of the source material.
Ahem. Anyway.
Showing in this journal is Crowley. Well, Anthony J Crowley is the name he goes by amongst people. Most others call him just Crowley. It was Crawly back in the old days, but that didn't suit. It just wasn't... him. Technically his name is a rather unpronounceable wiggly sigil, but since that's rather like being “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince” he changed his name. Mostly. So, Crowley. He likes people, but he is a demon at the core of it all, an evil enabler and a tempter to do evil. Though most of the tempting he's done over the past few hundred years has mainly involved tempting Aziraphale to get something to eat. Yes, his (probably best) friend is an Angel, but if you mention it, he'll deny it. Vehemently. He was the serpent in the Garden of Eden that tempted Eve to take the apple. So.. yeah.
Then, and get your jazz hands ready, this (![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) just___jack) is Jack McFarland. He is fabulous and flamboyant and I plucked him from the end of the series, which means Jack had come into quite a large sum of money before being brought to the Island. I really don't know how to summarize Jack other than sometimes he is a walking stereotype.
Finally, this (suibhne_geilt) is my foul-mouthed derelict leprechaun, Mad Sweeney. He's tall. Like, really tall. Like nearly 7 feel tall, tall. And yes, he's a leprechaun but he kind of really hates all that stereotypical mumbo jumbo about green suits and buckle shoes. He doesn't have a Pot O' Gold. He has a hoard. And you can try to catch him all you like, he's still not going to tell you where to find it -note: it is not in a physical place. In fact, trying to catch him might result in a physical altercation because this Irishman... LOVES to fight. He drinks, he swears, he fights, he tends to wake up outside under bridges and piers and things. Really, he's a degenerate.
Let's get some plot ideas rolling so we can get some threads going this weekend. I know, Tereesa, we talked about throwing Aziraphale and Crowley together right away, is that still a go? But I'm up for most anything and plotting out future things.

I'm Tereesa, one of the mods of Almost Paradise. I would like for you to meet my new critters:
This is Amelia Peabody Emerson. Peabody is her maiden name, Emerson her husband's surname. She is going to be the most displaced of all my characters by far. She is from 1895 Victorian England, and quite unhappy there with the way women are forced to live. Clothing (corsets!), political stances, relationships in general; women do not have it all that great. She is fortunate to have a husband who treats her as an equal (though she most often has the upper hand) and also has a young son, nicknamed Ramses. She is an Egyptologist- or rather the wife of one who does more than her share of the work, and while England is her home, Egypt is her heart. She often found herself wrapped up in mysteries, all too often involving dead bodies, and is on a comfortable standing with Cairo law enforcement (who probably wish more often than not that she would just let them do their job). Amelia has a strong personality, and is impossible to miss, or ignore, in any situation. She is certainly in for a bit of culture shock and likely to need a bit of help acclimating, whether she wants it or not.
River Song (doctors_sweetie) is a time traveler and wife of The Doctor, the most famous Time Lord ever to have existed. Her life revolves around him, to the point where she went to prison for his murder, even though he was perfectly alive and well, just to protect him. None of this is to say she is a doormat, far from it in fact. She is quick with a gun, and fiercely protective, especially regarding those she cares about. River is flirtatious and fun, and not always to be trusted.
Aziraphale (winged_bookworm) is an Angel, Principality Class. He is Guardian of the Eastern Gate and a general do-gooder, as most angels are. Unless he is being influenced by his... friend?...Crowley. The two of them go all the way back to the Garden of Eden. He's been through a lot, spending over 6000 years on Earth, and fairly recently helped stop Armageddon. He has a penchant for fine food, good wine, and little places where everyone knows his name. He collects first edition books, the older the better. "Collects" might be a weak word, hoards is more like it. He was running a used book store before finding himself on the island, but he rarely sold anything unless he was desperate for money.
I will likely have a fourth coming soon, but he is still in the application process, and I never know if the mods will like my take on him. So I will introduce him when he's all set and approved.

Greetings!
We are your mods, Tereesa and Dawn. It is hard to believe that after all the planning and organizing, it is only a week and a half until play begins! We hope you are as excited as we are.
We thought it might be fun to introduce ourselves and our characters and maybe do a little plotting. Help build the excitement and get the "official" stuff out of the way. With that being said...
This is Mr. Jones. He is the mod-controlled NPC and the public face of The Management. He has never met his employers, but he is paid well and has never been asked to do anything he thought was immoral, and certainly nothing illegal- a considerable concern at first when he was approached by unknown peoples looking to hire him. He's a pretty easy going guy who loves his job, the island, and the people. Occasionally he has to meet with a disgruntled guest, but most of the time his capable staff do a fine job of handling most situations without his aid.
While he can be spotted throughout the island, his office is located at the resort. He has just been informed by The Management to be prepared for an influx of new guests. Information has been given to him on each one, and he is making sure the staff and the resort are ready for them.
As a general rule, Mr. Jones is just used for moderator announcements. In the event a character would like to interact with him, please contact one of your friendly mods. We may be able to run a thread with him, or let you NPC him to a certain extent, but please understand this does require pre-approval.
Feel free to jump in here and introduce yourself and your characters if you would like to. If you have need of plot, this is also a great place to start.
We looking forward to playing with all of you. Welcome to the island!
