Arms loaded down with a wide variety of starchy and sugary snacks from the convenience store, Mímir stepped in close to the door to 2G, leaning in to press his shoulder against the door so he could call through. "Hey, Silas," He called, giving the door a little nudge to 'knock' it, "You in there?" "I've got my hands full!" He explained, hoping the other boy would open the door before someone happened across him. It wasn't that he was ashamed of Silas and didn't want to be seen there, he just couldn't stand the constant stream of catty commentary, or the collective student body's inability to keep their noses out of other people's business. "If I start dropping stuff, it'll probably be your favourites first..." Silas Kennedy tossed aside the copy of A Storm of Swords he was reading to prepare himself for the next season of Game of Thrones. It was his favorite book of the series, but it was taking him much longer to get through the book than he had last time. Despite all the free time they ostensibly had at IVI, it was filled with clubs and other social obligations, like boyfriends, that he didn't have to distract him back in Vancouver. "Noooo," Silas said, mournfully after he opened up the door to let Mímir into his room. Ever since the students that went to the beach came back, Mímir seemed to need some space from his roommate, as Filipe's nature-loving group had grown since before they left. "Got it or do you need help?" Gently shouldering past the other boy, Mímir grinned easily, "Nah, it's cool. I've got it." Walking into the room, he started setting the treats down on Silas's bed, listing them off as he did. "I got some chips for both of us, some Skittles for me and, uh..." Turning to face Silas, he lifted up one hand to show off what was dangling from his fingers; Six Coke cans, each one open and slightly dented, all carefully set back in the plastic rings again. "I found some empties, so." At the sight of those aluminum treats, Silas gave Mímir a hug. It wasn't that he liked the taste of cans so much that he reacted like that, more the fact that Mímir was being so understanding and sweet about his weird powers. He even put them back in the rings! "Thank you," Silas planted a quick kiss on Mímir's cheek. He'd recently gotten bolder about being affectionate as their relationship progressed. Part of it was coaching from Vi Harper, but mostly Silas was just starting to feel somewhat comfortable around the Icelander. Sure there were still some awkward bits to their relationship but everyone had that. "Are they still in your room?" Silas asked after he peeled himself off of his boyfriend. "Don't know," Mímir shrugged, grinning like an idiot as Silas pulled away from him. Reaching up, he set one hand on the other boy's side, keeping him from pulling back too far. "Even if the room was empty, I'd rather be here..." Still smiling, wide and warm, he glanced around the room, "So, do you want to watch a movie? I'll even let you pick." "How about you pick? I feel like I'm always just steamrolling you when it comes to stuff like this." It wasn't often that Silas was assertive, but when it came to watching TV and movies, he had a lot of opinions on the matter. He smiled up at Mímir. "Besides, you so graciously went through all that trouble to get snacks." "It wasn't that much trouble," Mímir replied, but then he quickly stopped that train of thought. Silas letting him pick the movie was a rare occasion and the other boy was still trying to get him to sit through all of Firefly, so it was better to seize the chance whilst he could. "300 sound good? I am pretty sure I brought it over with me the other night and then just forgot it..." Taking a step back from Silas, he glanced around the room to where he'd carelessly tossed his DVDs down the last time they'd had a 'date'. Letting out a soft noise of triumph, he smiled, "Yepp, there it is." "Yeah, sure." Silas made a face once Mímir turned around to grab the Frank Miller gem off the shelf. He wasn't a huge fan of Frank Miller--grim'n'gritty really wasn't a thing--but if Mímir wanted to watch it, Silas would go along. At least there was some man candy to watch in the thing. He dropped himself back onto his bed and got himself comfortable while Mímir got the movie ready. "I can't believe the term is almost over. It feels like it has gone by so fast! I can't wait to get back home for the break." "Yeah. After everything, even I'm looking forward to going back home for a little while," Mímir replied casually, tapping away at Silas's laptop to set up the movie. One of his favourites, thank you very much, Silas. That done, he carried the computer over to the bed and settled down beside Silas, "Lilja and Mikael are talking about us going to a summer house for a few days." "Wow." If Mímir was looking to go home, Silas had to figure that Mímir had to be experiencing things just as bad as the others had been. "What's a summer house?" "It's a house out in the country, you go out there for a couple of days to camp out and relax. Take up a bunch of food." Shrugging, he was momentarily distracted when the movie began, watching the now-familiar opening scene before he went on, "Most people take a whole lot of alcohol out with them, too. ...but we don't really do that." "Oh sounds fun." Going out into the country with your friends. It was all very normal kid stuff. Silas didn't really have stuff like that back home. Even the Vols that got sent to IVI wouldn't be around much, they all live closer to Toronto. "So you've all done it before?" "Yeah, we did it awhile ago. It was--" Mímir hesitated, then shrugged, "It was a little weird, but it was still okay." Leaning close against Silas, he tried to change the subject, "Did you ever do anything like that in Canada?" "Not really. At least not at the Vol School I went to. There are two. One in Vancouver in the west and one in Toronto. The Toronto school was a lot bigger so they might have had more trips and stuff." Silas shrugged. "I'm not too close to many people school." Mímir frowned as he thought that over. It was probably how he would have wound up in a bigger school; secluded and drawn-off, hiding away in his own little corner. It was only necessity and numbers that had spared him, really. There had been four of them in the whole Vol programme of Iceland, he'd wound up completely unable to escape the others. He was lucky, in a way. "Well, you're here now, you've got friends," he offered, casually sliding one arm around Silas's shoulders. "Yeah," Silas said with a smile. While others had major problems with how IVI was run, the rigidity, classes, training teams and the like had actually proven to be good for someone like Silas. He was forced out of his comfort zone and he'd found himself enjoying it. "It's pretty cool." Leaning in to press a kiss against the other boy's temple, Mímir murmured softly, "And you've got me." "Eh, that one's only okay," Silas said with a grin. He turned his head to look at Mímir and slid his arm around his boyfriend's waist. "I'm sorry. I'm teasing you." Letting out a quiet 'huff' of laughter, Mímir shook his head and watched the action play out on screen. A few minutes later, he decided to broach a difficult subject, "So, uh... what are we?" "We're hanging out," Silas shrugged, suddenly feeling very uneasy. He liked just going with the flow and not having any pressure put on them. But adding a label was pressure! Especially for someone that hadn't been in a relationship before. "As friends...who are boys?" He said with sheepish smile. "Friends. Who are boys." Mímir nodded along with what Silas had to say, shrugging slowly, "Right. Sorry, just... people keep asking and I don't know what to say," Pressing in close against the other boy, he set a kiss against his temple and then murmured, "We don't really do the whole... boyfriend thing in Iceland. Or, like, not like this." "Oh. So then if it's weird for you, we don't have to...whatever." Silas was crestfallen, but he understood that everyone was different. "I don't know really about anything. You're the first guy that's ever really paid attention to me." "It's not weird," Mímir replied, instinctively pulling Silas against him as he listened to the other boy getting so down on himself. "It's just... new." Watching a fight play out on screen, he kept Silas's face in the corner of his eyes, carefully watching his expression whilst pretending he wasn't. "So, if you want to be boyfriends, I want to be boyfriends." "Or however you're supposed to say that." Silas smiled, totally unable to hide the joy in his voice. "Yes. Okay." Still only watching the other boy out of the corner of his eye, Mímir grinned. "Okay. Boyfriends." |
