WHO: Everyone! Except those Damn Dirty Swans WHAT: Condor's Tiki Bikini Beach Paradise Party A-Go-Go! WHEN: Saturday all day, going into the evening WHERE: The new lake STATUS: IC/OOC Log
Sorry guys I'm not so good with the fancy image-laden party post, so deal with my meager prose! The Condors hit the lake early and set it up for the party, and they went all out. With Sadie's help they landscaped the shore into a beachy facsimile, with plenty of room for tanning, bathing, and beach games. Karim had managed to get his hands on some decor items then negotiated with Nolan to replicate them, so the place was filled with tiki torches, palm fronds, and surfboards sticking out of the sand. He would have hassled Teresa for a few real palm trees, but that's up to her!
There's a BBQ grill set up that the Condors took time manning, with burgers and hot dogs provided from the kitchen. There were plenty of (non-alcoholic) refreshments, to be served out of novelty coconut cups with colourful umbrellas. Damien and Jordana were on game organization, so I'll let them fill in the deets but I presume there was at least plenty of volleyball and a limbo contest.
There was also a sound system borrowed from the admin, set up for anyone who volunteered to DJ (Filipe), as well as a mic and sound setup for volunteer performers (Audra, Jesse, anyone else?). Karim emceed, and insisted on a few old Frankie Avalon style tunes to be played, for a 50's style dance party. He also conducted a swimsuit competition (probably co-hosted by Whitney) for anyone who volunteered (and a few who didn't), with plenty of commentary.
Come sundown there was a big bonfire on the beach, though pub night was also open. Nobody could bring drinks out of pub night, but the staff didn't stop people from going to pub night, drinking, then returning to the beach. There were singalongs and plenty of dark corners for intimate moments.
