Week One - Monday
Who: Travis and Lulu
What: Someone wants to come along for the supply run... and learns how to shoot a gun >.>
Where: Near the gate/entrance of the Wall
When: Monday morning; a few hours before the supply run is to take place

Lulu was bored. A bored Lulu was never a good thing. It often led to her having to take things into her own hands, and figure out some way to amuse herself. After annoying quite a few people with her chatter, in the hopes of doing such, she set off to find someone that wouldn't outright ignore her. Del was no where to be found, and she figured that he was probably actually doing work. Shai and Whitley were around somewhere, but after circling the camp twice, and seeing hide nor hair of them, she admitted defeat.

Right now her amusement consisted of kicking a small pebble in front of her as she walked. It was someone letting out a loud curse that brought her attention away from such. Looking up and swiping those long bangs out of her face, she peered around for who said expletive had come from. Travis wasn't hard to spot, over near the vehicles used for the supply runs. How could she have forgotten!? There was to be a major supply run today, which was always interesting. She'd been able to talk her way onto one or two before, and even though it was no trip to Disney World, it was definitely more entertaining than being trapped at Haven.

That pebble lay forgotten as she tucked her hands into her jacket pockets, approaching the other. Lulu wasn't a big fan of adults, usually because they weren't a big fan of her incessant chatter and super-hyper ways... but Travis was pretty cool. Where as some of the others tried to tell her to tone it down, he usually just went along with her ramblings. Well, there had been a quite few times when he flat out told her to shut up, but she was willing to overlook such for the chance to tag along today. With an extra spring in her step, she continued forward and took a leap towards him. "Travis!" she shouted upon impact, that characteristic grin on her face as she peered up at the tall male. "Hiyah! What's up? Fancy meetin' you here." Lulu laughed softly, yet again pushing those bangs - that she was forever messing with - out of her face, before returning her hand to her pocket. "So, supply run today, eh? Sounds important. You'll probably be needin' some extra help, right? I mean, 'cause I don't have anything to do..." she gave an indifferent shrug as she continued on. "I could probably help out." She could have also been out doing that which had been assigned to her, but what was the fun in that?

That smile spread from ear to ear, taking on an almost creepy effect, as she kept her gaze on him.

"Son of a bitch." Travis slammed down the hood of one of the vehicles. "Where the fuck is Del? How the hell are we supposed to go get supplies if the goddamn truck isn't running?" He'd gotten into the habit of talking to himself when trying to deal with the group's various problems. Partly because he wasn't the sort to keep his frustrations to himself, and partly becuase occasionally people overheard and actually fixed things. There wasn't anyone to overhear him at the moment. Or at least, he didn't think so.

He'd been so distracted by the malfunctioning truck that he hadn't noticed Lulu's approach. "What the..." He turned, slightly surprised when she shouted his name. "Lulu."

He looked down at her skeptically, listening to her bid to go along on their little adventure. He had let her go before, although that had been when they had fewer people and needed all the help they could get. He wasn't really in the mood to be babysitting on this run today. "I don't think so, Pollyanna," he answered with a smirk. "We don't need any extra Eater bait on this run."

"Yep! Me." That smile got even wider, even though it seemingly wasn't possible, and it didn't take long for her cheeks to begin to ache from grinning so wildly. Making a rather odd face as he continued on, she stretched her jaw and wound it in a circle... before picking right back up with the smiling.

A single brow was lifted as he referred to her by a name that definitely wasn't hers. "Dude, I told you like a million times- I have no idea who this Pollyanna chick is. Like, you tried to explain it to me that one time, but I still have no freakin' idea who she is." Had he not pretty much rejected her offer to come along, she more than likely would have continued to talk. Instead she let out a disappointed, and rather drawn out, groan. "C'mon! I can run fast, and like, fit into small spaces if they come!" Fitting into small spaces might not seem like a great skill to have, especially when faced with the Eaters, but it had definitely helped during the one actual run-in she personally had with them. "And besides, you'll be there. You've got a gun, and can protect me and crap."

Lulu called up her best puppy-dog face, and switched that smile from crazily obnoxious to downright sweet. "Pleeease?" she pleaded softly, canting her head to the side slightly in attempt to help sway his decision.

That obnoixous grin would have been a lot more irritating if he wasn't a master of the same expression himself. It was hillarious how you could irritate people just by looking happy sometimes.

He laughed when she objected to the name he'd used. "And I told you I don't care, dude. If I have to limit myself to nicknames you get, I'll have to start calling you Miley, and that would just be sad for both of us." His expression made it clear that in his opinion that really wasn't a depth either of them wanted to sink to. They had to have some standards.

Travis had to resist the urge to roll his eyes at her lackluster survival skills. "Protect you? Like hell I will. I'll be busy saving my own ass." That probably wasn't true, he'd protect whoever he was with, but he wasn't about to start claiming responsibility for people who got in over their heads. "If you come along you've got to protect yourself."

Come to think of it, wasn't Lulu a scout? It couldn't be a good idea for them to be sending out someone who couldn't defend herself. Travis sighed, mentally counting the number of people this idea was going to piss off, before going around to the back of the vehicle and opening up their 'emergency' case. He took out one of the spare guns.

"You ever fired one of these before?"

It was amazing how you could annoy so many people with so many little simple things. It was just lucky for everyone else that Lulu had perfected many of said things.

His laugh only caused her to roll her eyes. "Euw, that's just mean. I don't go around callin' you things like... Zac Efron. Like seriously, Travis." Lulu had also perfected pulling off that entire disaffected youth gig. Why adults were so cheesy was beyond her. Even the cool ones like the guy in front of her seemed to have their 'dumb adult' moments in which they thought they were hilarious. It was a good thing she never planned on turning out lame when she grew up.

"Fine. Be like that. See if I help you ever. You'll be all, 'Oh my gosh, Lulu! Help me, 'cause I suck!' And then I'll be like, 'No, I gotta save my own ass, because I'm all... cool.' But then, only because I'm nice, I'll still help you out." There was a supposedly knowing look sent his way, as she lifted one of her feet and pressed it against the side of her other knee. For such an energetic teenager, it was almost amusing to see her doing a yoga stance that was supposed to be used to achieve inner balance.

As he walked around to the back the vehicle, she stuck out her foot, and followed right after him. When he pulled out that gun, she didn't really think anything of it. It was now just a fact of life that it was something necessary to protect people. Another exaggerated expression - this one clearly asking him if he was insane - came about her face, before she shrugged.

"I went paintballin' once? An' used to play Halo with my brothers?" Did that qualify as the same thing? She wasn't sure. "I was always gettin' the highest kill count on Live, well except when I went up against this one guy. He was such a little bitch! He'd always like just hide, and then ambush you when you least expected it." Yeah, that wasn't the same thing at all.

"Why?" Lulu asked, almost warily.

Only about half of what she'd just said made any kind of sense to him, so he was just going to assume it was all good. Life was just easier that way.

He ignored the look on her face. He'd quit paying any attention to people looking at him like he was crazy long ago. For one thing, if stuff like that stopped him, he never would have gotten anywhere with Penny. Or really, anyone. He did have more than his fair share of insane ideas. Fortunately they he usually managed to make the insanity work.

"Mhm." He was going to take that as a no. Paintball and video games weren't the same as real firearms at all, something he'd learned the stupid hard way. Travis held up the gun, looking from it to the hyper blond girl and back. Then he grinned wickedly. "You want to?"

It was quite alright that most of what she said went unanswered, she herself usually not being able to keep track of her train of thought for more than a few moments. Which makes her a prime candidate to do something like learn how to shoot a gun?

"Seriously? Like you're askin' if I want to shot a gun?" Scrunching up her face, she eyed the other for a moment, trying to make out whether he was just jerking her chain or not. Had it been pretty much anyone else, she would have automatically assumed he was just teasing with her. But this was Travis after all, and from what she had seen over the past few months- he didn't really play by the rules. Looking to the left with suspicious eyes, and then to the right, just to make sure this wasn't some sort of set-up. You never knew when someone who actually seemed to have some concrete morals and values would show up.

"Sure!" she shot back at him with another sudden burst of enthusiasm. This was going to be so cool!

"I'm asking if you want to learn how." With the smooth moves that came from way too much practice he took the clip out of the weapon and made sure there wasn't a shell still in the chamber. He wasn't going to hand her a loaded gun straight off. Travis was reckless, but he didn't have a death wish. "If you're going to keep going out there you'll have to eventually, and I'd say now is a better time to give a try than when there's a pack of monsters on your tail."

He held the gun out, then on second thought pulled it back in a 'keep away' sort of move. "Here's the deal, okay? Don't be a dumbass." He remembered being 15. Being a dumbass pretty much went with the territory, but it was worth a shot. "If you get yourself killed, it ain't my fault. And if you shoot me, I'm going to be really pissed off." That pretty much covered it. A normal person might have just said, 'be careful,' but whatever.

Travis offered her the weapon so she could at least get a feel for the thing. They might have to go outside the wall if she wanted to do any actual target practice. Shots inside the compound were sure to draw unwanted attention.

"I said yeah," she scoffed. If he was going to tempt her with the prospect of firing a gun, and then turn all hardass on her, she could do without it. If she felt like having someone correct her and such, she would have just gone off to pester Noah. When he continued talking, she started nodding, if only to get him to hurry up with his little spiel and get this started already. "Yeah, yeah, okay, okay. Sure. Sounds good." Lulu nodded a few times more, and started to take a step forward when he offered her that unloaded weapon, but stopped short when he decided to further drive home how responsible he was being in this situation.

"Okay, I won't. Do you really think I'm dumb enough to shoot myself? I mean, it's like, not even loaded. I don't think I can do much damage. And I promise not to shoot you, Travis." She gave him her best shit-eating grin, and finished taking that step forward. "Or at least I'll try not to," she snorted, after she'd taken the gun from him.

Taking a small step back, she looked down at the firearm she was holding in her right hand. It was a lot heavier than she would have expected, and that was without the clip. A glance was given his way, before she returned her attention down to her hand. Taking that weapon in both hands, she held it up in front of her. One eye was closed, and her tongue stuck out the corner of her eye. Sighting along the barrel, or at least making an attempt to, she turned and absently pointed it at Travis before letting it drop to her side once more.

"So when do I get to shoot it?" That question was asked matter-of-factly, as she brought the gun to point towards herself as she stared into the barrel. Oh, this should be fun.

That sad thing was, this really was his version of being responsible. If he was being irresponsible he just would have handed her the loaded gun and wished her good luck. Even so, he knew he'd still being hearing about this. Penny was going to kill him when she found out. That is, if Alice or Noah didn't get to him first.

"Oh good, you'll try not to. Thanks," he said with a derisive laugh. "You sure know how to make me feel like I'm making the right decision here."

He sighed, and this time he did roll his eyes. "You get to shoot it after you've finished with all the newb 'point it around and look down the barrel' moves. And once you learn to load it." He tossed her the clip, then headed for the gate. "Come on."

"You're ever so welcome," she spoke in an all too cheery voice, and gave him a 'yeah, well' look. If she wasn't so excited by the prospect of learning how to shoot a gun in general, she might have realized how this could very well come in handy later on. While the scouts didn't just go running around willy-nilly by their lonesome, if she were to come up against a group of Eaters... she was shit out of luck. "Oh, wah wah wah. So much complainin'."

Lulu made a face and mimicked his words, in a truly mature manner, and then looked up just in time to see that clip being tossed her way. She wasn't the most agile little thing, but she did manage to clumsily catch it and not drop the gun in the process. Holding that gun in her right hand, with the clip awkwardly clutched between her palms she watched Travis walk away from a moment. She didn't need to be told twice, or at least not in this situation. Breaking out into a run, she made her way past him towards the gate. Only stopping when she reached it, she turned around and gave him another giant grin, as she held the clip in her left hand and the gun in her right. "I'm 'bout to tear this shit up! Hells yeah!" Lulu nodded cooly, giving him her best badass face.

Now, you did have to realize that her definition of badass had been shaped by MTV and her father's love of the movie Bad Boys.

"Nice catch, hot shot," he commented sarcastically, kind and polite as ever. As far as he was concerned, no one was exempt from harassment, not even newly armed teenage girls.

Her 'badass' face only elicited raised brows and a skeptical look from him, although the corners of his mouth did quirk up in a slight smile. There was actually something kind of satisfying about how enthusiastic she was about this. It was always nice to have someone else around who realized some of this survival shit could be fun.

"Damn straight. Your enemies will never know what hit 'em," he replied slyly. Travis unwrapped the length of chain holding the gate closed so they could pass through the small gap. He talked as he did so and as they went out beyond the wall. His tone was casual, as if this were a perfectly normal everyday occurrence. "There's a button on the grip. Pull that back and you can slide the clip in until it clicks in place. Once you've done that you're packing heat, so be careful where you're pointing that pea shooter."

See who said always listening to authority was the way to go? Had she been preparing to go out and look for twigs and berries to bring back for Neil to cook up, she wouldn't be set to learn how to shoot a freakin' gun. This only further proved her point that adults were stupid, whether because they thought they knew everything... or were teaching overzealous fifteen year olds how to shoot a firearm.

"Tchyeah. I know," she quickly retorted, her own tone matching his. Lulu hated being treated like a little kid, and in her eyes she was practically an adult at nearly sixteen. If she was going to be talked down to, she'd much rather it be in a playful manner than a condescending one. Lifting one side of her lip, she simply sucked her teeth in response to his assurance that she was badass. Travis might not have come out and said it in those terms, but hell, it wasn't hard to see that she was after all badass. While she may not have been looking at it from the aspect of being a survival skill, she was very much under the belief that this could be fun. She couldn't wait to tell Whitley and Shai.

Slipping out of the gate after him, she turned to face him while he secured it once more. There was another nod, this one surprisingly attentive, as he explained how to load the gun. "Button. Press it. Click. Heat. Don't shoot you. I'm a badass. Got it." There was a smirk sent his way, before she did as was instructed. It took her a minute to actually figure out what the hell he was talking about, but soon enough found herself holding a loaded gun. Uh, wow.

A look of uncertainty passed over her face, her brows furrowing slightly, as she realized just what she was holding in her hands now. Lulu wasn't having seconds thoughts, or doubting how awesome this was... but to say that she wasn't the tiniest bit on edge about this all of a sudden was a lie. Holding the gun out in front of her gingerly in both hands, she peered up at Travis. "So... wha'do I do now?"

On the off chance she did something wrong, she kept it pointed down at the ground in front of her, safely away from either of their feet.

If Travis was being condescneding towards Lulu it wouldn't so much be becuase she was young, but more becuase, well, he did that to just about everyone. When the mood struck him it didn't matter who was around. He was an equal opportunity jackass.

"Yeah, you got it alright." His smirk mirrored hers. If this didn't end in total disaster it might just be pretty damn amusing. She fumbled with the pieces, but not too badly, and soon was holding a fully functioning weapon. The fact that she kept it pointed away from them or anything else was a good sign. The look of uncertainty on her face was not so good. While holding a weapon was a very good time to be focused, confident, and in control.

He moved so he was standing behind her. "Now you hold it like you mean it. Like the hardcore badass you are." With the confidence that was typical of him, and a calm that wasn't so typical, he helped her adjust her grip and aim. "Both hands. Feet should-width apart. Lean forward." He pointed to a clump of three trees a ways away and away from the wall. "Aim for the middle tree, take a breath, then it's just point and shoot. Brace yourself, it's got a bit of a recoil." More than a bit, actually, but that was the sort of thing you only learned by feeling it.

If this didn't end it total disaster she was going to have to alert EVERYONE to just how awesome she was. Come on, how many fifteen year olds knew how to shoot a gun? Even if it had less than stellar results, she'd still probably milk the story she'd tell for what it was worth. Hopefully Travis would back her up on that, because that'd be a pretty shitty thing of him to not do. Badasses had to look after one another, or something like that, right?

When he moved behind her, she nodded again, actually trying to concentrate on what he was saying. Even though it may not have seemed like it, she did know that there was a time and a place to be serious. Lulu happened to realize that when one was holding a loaded gun was a pretty good time to do such. She couldn't help but let out a laugh as he finally admitted just how badass she was, then again it was hard to deny. "Like the hardcore badass I am," she repeated back, gaining a bit of confidence in this undertaking. "Damn strizzaight, biznotches." Whether he was just joking around with her, or actually trying to talk her up for this... it was working either way.

There was no resistance offered as he readjusted her grip on the gun, and she had to admit, it did feel a bit more comfortable in her hands after his help. His directions were mumbled back to herself under her breath, as she strode to keep all of her attention focused on this. Lulu had no delusions about how easily distracted she was, and honestly didn't want to screw this up. Taking that stance as he had instructed, she looked over at where he'd pointed.

Standing there for a moment, she went over what he'd said again in her head, and took a deep breath. Closing one eye and squinting the other, she quickly realized this would just be easier if she had them both open. Aim for the middle tree. That gun was brought along to sight such. Take a breath. Lulu inhaled deeply. Then it's just point and shoot. The part about bracing yourself wasn't repeated, and as she lightly pulled the trigger she was surprised to find that his definition of 'a bit' was obviously different from others.

The recoil caused her to take a half-step back, and she almost missed where the bullet had gone. "Whoa," she muttered under her breath as she watched the bullet go towards the trees. It didn't even come close to hitting the middle tree, but did manage to skate of the side of the one to the left- as was evident by the shards of wood that came into view for a moment. That giant grin spread over her face once more, and she peered over her shoulder at Travis. Badass didn't even begin to cover it, badass mother fucker... perhaps.

"Dude! Did you see that!? I'm like a freakin' natural! That was freakin' awesome!" There was a small laugh that escaped her, her gaze quickly coming to dart between him and the 'injured' tree. "Can I try again!? I think I can get the middle one this time, like seriously. I've got a good-- no, scratch that. A great feelin' about this." Taking the gun in one hand, she tilted it onto it's side - a la stereotypical Hollywood gangster - and nodded her head towards the trees. "Take that motha'fucka's! You ain't got shit on this! Eaters better watch out for me, son!" Just to complete the illusion that she was after all a dumbass, she made an absurd face and cocked her shoulders.

What had he created?

"Hm." Travis nodded, noticing the small spray of debris from the left tree. "Not bad." As reactions went that was... pretty vague, but he was actually fairly impressed that she'd hit anything. Maybe she had some natural talent. His own aim was, well, shit. He'd gotten better with practice, but in general he just waited for stuff to get way too close so he'd have a point blank shot instead of wasting ammo. Thankfully he'd never had to deal with anything that shot back or he'd really be in trouble.

"Freakin' awesome. You really showed that tree who's boss," he agreed with an amused and smirk. "Go ahead and try it again. Don't forget that thing is still loaded. And..."

Yet again he rolled his eyes. So much for the 'don't be a dumbass' advice. "Yeah. No. One honky to another, you are way too white to ever do that." He laughed. "The idea here is to defend yourself against flesh eating hell-beasts, not knock over a liquor store."

Not bad? That's all she got? Not bad? Even though she'd never given him a reason to praise her actions, Travis didn't really seem like the type to do so with big displays that including pats on the back and joyous reassurances. She'd take what was given to her. Besides, that had to mean something- he had to know a thing or two about shooting, it's not like someone with a shitty shot would take it upon themselves to teach a teenager how to shoot a gun, right?

"Hells yes, I did. I was like pow, and it was like ...splinter! Oh yeah, right, sorry. Safety first and all of that. How could I ever forget?" Lulu looked over her shoulder once more at him, just in time to see him roll his eyes. "That's what you'd like to think. You obviously don't know how gangsta' I am, dude." Righting the gun so that she held it properly once more, and aimed it towards the patch of trees. "Besides... I'm not even old enough to drink, duh."

Actually paying a bit more attention this go around, she braced herself against that recoil. Sobering slightly, she focused her gaze intently on the middle tree. It took her a minute to give the situation her complete attention once more, and before she had the chance to get distracted by a blowing leaf or the like- she shot again. Her arms still shook from the force of the bullet leaving the gun, but she managed to hold her ground as she watched the shot. This time it still hadn't gone exactly where she wanted it too, but lodged itself into the right side of the tree in the middle. Okay, so neither time she had actually hit her intended target, but she had hit something both times. That had to be some sort of sign of progress, or talent... or something.

Before letting loose another stream of oh so politically correct shouts, she looked over her should again - gun still raised - and raised a brow at Travis. "Good?"

Not bad was pretty high praise coming from him. If she'd wanted a pat on the back she'd have to go to someone else, although no one else was likely to have handed her a weapon in the first place.

"Yeah, right. You're gangsta and I'm fuckin' Tupac." He couldn't resist giving her a hard time. He had to harass her about something, and it wasn't going to be about the actual shooting, which they both were taking fairly seriously. Remarkably seriously, considering it was them.

He watched carefully as she focused and tried again. For her second shot that was damn impressive. He'd chosen a distant target just to prove to her that this wasn't as easy as it looked, but she'd managed to hit it pretty close on only her second try. The fact that she was fairly good at this was something of a relief. It would definitely help his argument when he got grilled about this later by the responsible people.

"Don't take this the wrong way kid, but... yeah. Yeah, that was good. You're pickin' this up quick." Travis nodded, a genuine smile on his face. "Don't let it go to your head though."

"...didn't Tupac die of a gun shot wound?" She shot right back at him, as if she could make this easy on him either. It was up for debate whether it was sad or amusing that they seemed to be on the same level of maturity, but Lulu had no intentions to look into it too far. Even though she couldn't help but bust his balls at every turn in this, it was rather astonishing that it hadn't erupted into wayward gun shots and such yet. There was always time for that later.

When he said that she seemed to be picking this up quickly, that hesitant smile grew to split her face once more. Usually something like that, even with that warning, would have caused her to become quite boastful... but something about that fact that she was getting an actual smile, and not some jackass smirk, caused her to pause. "Sweet," she said softly, letting that gun drop down point to the ground in front of her once more. "I can't make any promises... but I'll try. Or I'll like, try to try." Chuckling softly, Lulu bit the tip of her tongue before turning a bit to face him.

That gun was kept pointed away from either of them, because she was sure he liked having functioning feet as much as she did. "So... since I'm pickin' this up quick... does that mean I get to like, have my own gun? That'd be pretty cool. I can see it now- Lulu the..." There was a pause as she weighed which title she could bestow upon herself for ultimate awesomeness. "Lulu the Badass. It's simple, but gives you a great mental image."

"Very funny," he replied dryly. "Just watch where you're pointing that thing." If he ended up getting shot by Lulu he would never hear the end of it. And he'd be shot, which would suck, but mostly the worry was that he'd never live that down. He may not have had his priorities quite straight on that one.

She'd try to try. Good one. He'd have to use that line sometime. "Yeah, you do that." That smile was gone again, replaced by the tolerant and vaguely amused look that the teens typically got from him. He actually got along pretty well with the younger members of their group. Likely becuase he had about the same level of responsibility and maturity, something it would be better if they never found out for sure.

"I don't know about a great mental image, but it's definatley a scary picture." He considered the options for a moment. He hadn't really thought through what came after teaching her to shoot, it had simply seemed like a good idea at the time. Travis didn't have any problem with Lulu having her own gun. If it were up to him he'd prefer that everyone in the group was armed, but, as had been pointed out countless occasions, he seemed a good deal more inclined to thinking that violence was the answer than other people were. He wasn't going to take soul responsibility for this decision.

"You can take it today, if you come on the supply run. You never know, might just come in handy. As for keepin' it the rest of the time..." He shrugged. "That you'll have to take up with homeland security." By which he meant their head of security within the compound. By which he meant Penny.

If she did end up shooting Travis, she'd feel bad about it. Well, probably. ...no, she would. But if he made any funny faces or strange noises, she might laugh at him. Then again she had been desensitized to violence by TV and video games, it could be conceived as surprising that the second she'd touched that gun, she hadn't gone off on a shooting spree. Damn conservative Christian Fundamentalists! It was also probably a good idea that she had no intentions of shooting him. While he might have gotten teased over it, she could only imagine that she'd get quite the talking too. Lulu got enough of those already, for various reasons, and wasn't looking for another reason to get them.

It was a rather good line, if she admitted it herself. And it did work from time to time, or at least got her an amused look like the one he was shooting her way. It was odd, but at the same time kind of made sense, that they could actually get along so well. She didn't get along with a lot of kids her age, and from what she'd observed of Travis... there weren't many people he got along with wholly, period.

"I can only hope that you wake up in a cold sweat, after havin' had some horrible nightmare... with that image stuck in your head," she teased of him, tilting her head for a moment to give him a crazy look. Shaking her head, to get rid of the chuckling that followed, she shot up straight when he said what he had. "Really!? So not only do I get to come along... I get to have a gun! Schweet!" Of course she had started talking too soon, and didn't hear him finish his words until it was too late.

Lulu's mood soured considerably. Homeland security... there was only one person that could refer to- Penny. Travis' ladyfriend, or whatever, seemed cool enough, even if she was a bitch. But she seemed to fall near the edge of the responsible people, it made sense seeing as she used to be a cop. How those two worked together, Lulu could not even begin to fathom. She let out a small defiant sigh, and looked up at him with furrowed brows. "Peeeenny?" She whined, letting her shoulders slump back down once more. "Why don't you just go tell me to ask Father Mark if it's alright if I can go around killin' people, or... or ask Noah if he minds if I try to argue with Neil again about how meat isn't murder! That's... that's like if I was tryin' to convince Shai that rainbows and glitter are cool!" That gun went from both hands, to just resting in her right as she let her arm hang at her side.

"I'm sure that will happen. Then again, don't you give everyone nightmares already? This can only make it worse. You're such a terror." It was hard to tell sometimes when he was teasing or being serious. Well, no, not exactly. He was never being totally serious, but it wasn't always clear what the proportion of truth to smartass-ness was. Half the time even he wasn't sure.

"Sure. Come along, bring the gun. Make yourself useful." He laughed when she realized the catch and started whining about it. That was why he didn't want this to be all up to him. Lulu could do at least some of the arguing. She'd be okay. It was possible to convince Penny of things. Not easily, but it was possible. "You'll just have to think up a really good argument. Con her into letting you have the gun, and you'll have earned it."

He looked down at her, trying to look unimpressed with her objections, as amusing as they were. "It's got to be easier than those other things you had in mind. Noah and Mark are lost causes, I'm sure." Travis grinned, that obnoxious devil-may-care smile that drove most people crazy. "But if you can manage to get Shai to like glitter and rainbows, I'll convince Pen to let you have whatever weapon you want."

"You bet'cher ass!" She replied in a disgustingly cheery voice, giving him a sickeningly cute smile to match. "This is like, a natural talent I've got here. You can't learn this," Lulu sigh dramatically, blowing her bangs out of her face. "Many have tried, and all have failed." Not many people would see the ability to annoy the snot out of nearly anyone a viable talent, but she figured - of all people - Travis could take it for what it was worth. "Shootin' guns... and annoyin' the shit outta people. The drivin' force of Lulu the Badass."

He had agreed to let her come along, as well as use the gun. Knowing that he was in charge of the supply runs didn't make her think she'd have to do much to have said firearm in her possession today, she just had to make sure that no one else found out about it. Like Alice, or Noah, or Penny, or... quite a few others. If they found out afterwards, she got the feeling he'd be the only taking the majority of the blame. She wasn't really manipulative, but opportunistic in her eyes. Why would she go about rousing up more trouble for herself, when Travis had practically gone ahead and said he'd be the scapegoat. ...it was having to confront Penny that worried her. She could already picture it. Everyone else would get involved, and then she would find herself in a big mess. "But you're the adult!" Whining again, she took a deep breath and listened to him talk on.

Her eyes were cut in his direction at the mention of Mark and Noah, but he had peaked her interest once more with that last part. She did have that Lisa Frank stationary set still in her duffel bag. When she'd been packing up to leave her house, it had seemed like a completely necessary item to bring along. Even though she never had any use for it until now, a plan was already beginning to formulate in her mind as to how it might now. "You better stick to that, dude. I'm very persuasive," her smirk mirrored his, as she jut out a hip. Oh, yeah, it was on. She was going to get her own gun.

"I'm gonna go tell Alice that I'm comin' along on the supply run, and then... I think I might have a little chat with my good friend Shai. See if I can't get him to listen to the voice of reason." If nothing else, she was sure she could convince him to go along with this for the shared use of a gun. Like they'd either get one any other way, that was for sure. Raising her arm, but making sure that gun still didn't point at anyone, she held it out to Travis. "I'll be expectin' that back." That smug look didn't fade as she took a step towards him.

"Well, everyone needs hobbies." He was trying not to laugh. This was the sort of thing he was pretty sure he wasn't supposed to encourage. He didn't really care about what he was supposed to do, of course, but He'd hate to accidentally make his own life that much harder by encouraging this hellion.

"Yes I am. So they say. Ever since the police and the judiciary system said, 'We're charging you as an adult'." Joke? Not a joke? Hard to say. "Which sadly means I'm the one who'll get in trouble if you get yourself killed with that thing."

He looked down at her with a stern expression. Or what passed for stern with him, being that there was still a high degree of mischief involved. "It's a last resort. If we get into trouble you should run first. Shooting is hit or miss. Running is always good. Unless they're about to get you." He grinned wickedly. "Or unless they're about ot get me. Then you come kill the bastards, I don't want to get eaten."

He was prepared to have this argument regardless, but he may have been underestimating her persuasive sills. Or her ability to scheme against him. "Sure you are. You work on that, hotshot." At least he'd probably get some entertainment out of this.

He took the gun from her with an equally smug look. "Yeah, yeah. Get out of here. You'll get it back. If I'm still in a good mood." Hm, it had to suck being dependent on the whims of people like him. Being the 'adult' maybe had a few advantages.
