WELCOME TO THE MIDNIGHT CIRCUS

An empty fairground. Nothing has been there for years.

And the one morning, tents appear even though no one said the circus was coming to town. But there's something different about this circus. The tents are black and dark red and look worn-out and decrepit. And even though the rides are being put together, no one is ever seen on the grounds. How strange. Something feels wrong...

But at night, these things are forgotten as the lights brighten up the sky, as the carousel music fills the air, as the screams from the haunted house pierce the joyful atmosphere. The carnival flourishes with activity as the rides go on into the night and the shows open up to those who dared to visit. The large tent beckons the excited patrons indoors where they'll see a show like no other - tightrope walkers, ladies swinging from trapezes, lion tamers and stunt drivers, illusionists. It's hard to believe that the performers are mere humans.

They are, aren't they?

Carnevil is a dark/horror game that centers around a traveling carnival ran by supernatural/mythological creatures. Most story-lines will be mature and dark in nature. Come one, come all to the scariest show on earth.

Premise:
We are a small played-by roleplay community set in the developing city of Casa Grande, Arizona. Our group consists of an open-minded and diverse ensemble of writers with an even more varied cast of characters. The community allows a broad spectrum: from your everyday girl-next-door or high school jock to a Victoria's Secret employee or NBA star. Regardless, you must be realistic when devising your applicant. Our emphasis is on character development and we offer an opportunity to delve deep into that person you have always wanted to play without the distractions of supernatural talents or global collapse. Please read the rules beforehand! If your application is denied we will provide an explanation as to why. Any further questions can be posed through contacting the mods at 'the drop box'. Set on it's own private island among the Whitsunday Islands (and the Great Barrier Reef) in Queensland, Australia, White Sands Island & Resort, named so for its breathtaking white sand beaches, is rated as Australia's foremost destination resort. Guests are treated to the highest quality food, beverages, amenities and customer service. Everything they could possibly want is at their disposal, and if it's not, it's brought in by the end of the day.

This game is about the people behind the luxury: the ones cleaning the rooms, and serving the drinks. All characters are staff members of White Sands, ranging from housekeepers, to dive instructors, to waiters, to casino staff and more. The staff have full use of all facilities on their time off and are free to use whatever amenities that are available. Everything included in the guest's stay is also free of charge for the staff, which means everything but liquor and the shops around the island. Staff members are encouraged to partake in any of the facilities to better their knowledge of what's available for guests.
