&STORYLINE
What if death isn't exactly what you thought? Oh, how we all planned on something black and white! The virtuous planned on going to fluffy clouds where angels play harps and you live happily. The darker types expected to burn in flames and be tortured for all eternity. That's what we all believed, right?

Well, we were wrong.

Welcome to Midian. A world within a world. Another world on Earth. Nestled quaintly under a graveyard, Midian is home to the restless, the condemned, those who cannot touch light and are shunned by society. Midian is a world of the walking dead.

The people of Midian are dead and alive, virtually zombies with their own minds. Covered in scars of the past, Midians are cursed to live beneath the soil of the Good Earth and stricken by everlasting darkness. Despite being barbaric in nature, Midian is not without governing laws. Even in the Darkness, Virtue is what one must live by.

There is but one rule: there is no going up. You may traipse about in the graveyard, but you may not go past it's massive gates of steel and spikes. Never, ever. Beyond those gates are where the Daywalkers roam and you are no longer of their kind.

Midian is full of fantastical creatures. flowers with faces, birds with human bodies, demon dogs, hybrid humans, and creatures made of flesh and those made only of bone, all which have been here long before those who have died. Some are kind, some are cruel, some are neither here nor there. Some are humanoid and others are spirits of those long dead. Some speak, some are mute. It's up to you to find out.

The landscape is everything from your imagination. There are massive treehouses, hills of monstrous proportions, trees born of beasts and trees of skulls. In the southernmost edge of the city there is a dingy, dirty staircase that leads to the cemetery.

&RULES

01. Play nice. Rather simple, isn't it? We want a friendly environment here and so absolutely no drama will be tolerated. Try to keep any problems you might have with other players out of the game. If things get too complicated, please contact a mod immediately.

02. Stay in character. This cannot be stressed enough. As this roleplay undoubtedly features situations your characters would not otherwise be in, some creative licensing is in order. However, please make sure to stay as true to your character's personality as possible at all times. You will only receive three warnings about this and, if you fail to fix the problem, you will be removed from the community.

03. No godmodding. What this means is that it's not cool to make other people's characters do things. You are in control of your characters and your characters alone, so don't go messing with other people's. (However, if you want someone else to take control of your characters for a while, this is fine. Just please let the mods know beforehand.)

04. Please use proper spelling grammar. We are aware that mistakes happen and that sometimes English is not one's native language, however, do your best to make sure that your spelling and grammar are passable. Pls nOt 2 bE tyEpInG lieK tiS, 'k?1!?1

05 Keep within the boundaries of the plot. Being an RP, the plot is fairly minimal, but it does exist all the same, so it's advisable to stay within its limitations.

06. Do not take characters you are not willing to properly play. So you want to play someone who has a rather important role, eh? That's all fine and well, but please make sure to have your characters fulfill their obligations. Unless it's in character for them to slack off from their duties, don't let them.

07. Stay active. Upon joining, you have seven days to update about your character in the ooc community if you choose and it is mandatory to make a post for your character in their journal or in the main community. If you do not, your character will be dropped. We know that life happens, but we are going to assume, since you joined this RP, that you at least have some free time. Please make sure to keep your characters active and in the game. If no sign of life is given for two weeks, your character will be removed. (If there is a reason as to why you must be absent for a long amount of time, please let us know so we don't accidentally drop you.)

08. Don't take on more than you can handle. There is no character limit and you are free to app and play as many characters as you want to, but please do not take on more than you can handle.

09. All characters are dead at the start. Further explanation is in the story, FAQ, and application.

10. Logs are to be posted to the logging community. This community itself is for character introductions and community announcements by characters. All logs are to be posted to inmidianlogs.

11. There will be no OCs. This is not an original character community. There are plenty of book, movie, television, and whatever else characters in existence already.

12. We have no age requirement. Please demonstrate maturity if you are under eighteen. If you appear to not handle any of this well, you will be removed from the RP.

13. This is not a crack RP. Crack is all well and good, but please be reasonable about the amount you're tossing in and the kinds of it, for that matter.

14. To friends-lock or not to friends-lock? Some people choose to lock character-journal entries or the entries they make in communities. It's fine if you want to, but if you do, you must keep all your character's friends list up-to-date (and even if you don't, this is preferable!). For those that don't want to, that's fine to. However, if someone you are RPing with requests that you lock a log or entry, please honor this request and do so.

15. Read the FAQ. No, really. This is mandatory. It'll tell you what to do if you go on hiatus, drop a character, whatever. If you don't follow what's on the FAQ, it's the same as not following a rule.

16. Do not add any of the communities until you are accepted. This is a given, but apparently some people couldn't figure this out. Do not add the communities with anything other than your character journal(s). Alternatively, you are welcome to request to be added with your personal journal to the mod and OOC community so you can get mod updates on your personal FL and can comment and update in the OOC with your personal journal.
