Rose could feel him move up behind her and while it reassured her, she wanted him to stop - it was such a danger for their alpha to be involved in any sort of drama. What if something happened to him? To her, he was far more than their leader, her was....he was Rhys. She didn't want him hurt, or worse, if she could help to prevent it. It couldn't go unnoticed that Cassie made no move to try and stop him, to shield her husband, her leader, from impending danger.

Knowing he was there behind her also made her feel safer then she could have known - he had her back, regardless, she knew that Rhys wouldn't allow anything to happen to her if he could help. That wasn't to say she wanted him hurt for her, of course, but it made it easier to stand up to Chris' little group before them.

Everything happened so quickly...had Rhys not pulled her to the ground, it likely would have taken her another moment or two to gather her bearings or react. She could feel herself pressed beneath him, his body warm and strong against her own. She could hear the chaos around them, felt his body stiffen above hers and worry exploded in her chest. He'd been hit, she could smell the blood. She found his gaze, knew what he was after and nodded to let him know that yes, she was fine and that she could work to get somewhere safe.

"Be careful," she warmed him before he took off into the fray and left her behind. Rose pushed herself off of the ground, dusting off her palms, seeking out somewhere safe. She wanted to stay and help, truly, but she wasn't completely trained yet, she didn't want to do more harm then good. She took off across the park, seeking out some shelter where she could wait to provide help if needed. Halfway to a break of trees, she felt an arm slide around her waist, another cover her mouth and haul her off of her feet. She tried to cry out, struggled against the grip but it was useless.

Marcus stepped into her line of sight, his presence making her breath quicken. "Chris wanted to send you a little present, just in case you didn't want to come home..." it was then that she noticed the little thimble-like coverings on three of his fingers, the silver glinting in the dim light. Reaching out, he dragged them across the skin of her stomach slowly, tearing open her caramel flesh. Behind the hand that covered her mouth, Rose cried out in pain...
