The Festival: The Last Days (the Hunt!) |
[12.24.2021] |
Since the bodies began piling up, the whispers have continued throughout the kingdom that there must be something hiding in the woods. Soon, the villagers and nobles start to demand answers.
For two days, the King has sent men into the woods to scout for the murderer as well as the escaped suspects (Yelena and Francis). On the second day, a group of soldiers went missing.
Thursday night, the first snows of the season fell and on Friday morning, the soldiers were found. All were murdered, torn apart, blood staining freshly fallen snow and what appear to be hoofmarks trailing away. It became clear that this was no man's doing. While the original suspects were not exactly cleared, all efforts have now turned to find the beast that did this. And in desperation, the King has offered a reward.
Who will hunt and find the beast?
This Plot will last until December 28th. It will be leading directly into our January Plot, coming soon!

Festival Day 4 |
[12.21.2021] |
The hanging was initially scheduled at dawn of the 4th day, but the guards had found the cell hat held the champion archer mysteriously empty. TO make it worse for the king, the mysterious Champion Knight was still not found. There was a sense of unease in the castle, where celebrations had become solemn until the culprit who murdered the noble was found and killed. But, as courtiers whispered and rumors spread, things seemed well enough in the village.
Celebrations continued, and the villagers prepared for the Great Bonfire that evening. That was until a scream was heard echoing through the dusk. Three bodies, including that of a child, were uncovered at the edge of the woods. All peasants.
They bore deep scratches to their face and torsos, their insides eaten out by something. Each had a cut across their neck.
As the panic rose, villagers quickly begin to lock themselves in their houses for the night. The bonfire has been forgotten. The rumors begin to spread. And it is now clear the noble was not murdered by the champions.
Something else is out there.

The day of the Hunt has arrived. The Champions of the festival have been invited to attend the King's hunt (Francis Barton and Yelena Belova The Mysterious Knight). It was a fine affair until that afternoon when the King's men hurried back to announce that Lord Faltel had been found dead- his throat cut in the middle of the wood.
It is believed that one of the champions from the games was the likely culprit. Both will be immediately arrested (though they may just escape beforehand). News will reach the village quickly, and the gossip will begin, but celebrations will not cease. After all, what peasant cares for a dead noble?
At the castle, the rumors will start as to whether or not the champions were really responsible, or if this was just an excuse for one noble to off another.

Festival Day 2 |
[12.19.2021] |
It's the day of the games! Peasants and nobles compete for the King and Queen's favors. In the village, people continue to celebrate and party. Should a lower-class individual win the tournaments, the celebration is bound to grow rowdy.

The Festival: Day 1 |
[12.18.2021] |
At noon on Saturday, the king's herald will ride into the center of Blackwell village to announce the start of the Winter Festival. With him, several servants have come to the village to help decorate the local inn and town center, bringing with them a feast, wine, and beer for the residents as is the custom each year.
The party will start that evening, with dancing, games, and plenty of fun for all. Feel free to log characters interacting (because it's fun!) or have people interact on journals about the going's on!
In addition to this, the herald will announce the upcoming events, whether commoners are invited or not, and place the calendar on the door of the Dragon's Breath. The events include the joust, the archery contest, the hunt, and the larger parties at the castle.
Peasants will be warned to keel revelry to the village since nobles will be arriving from all parts and must be separated from the townsfolk, as is tradition.
Sure enough, that evening some might notice carriages and entourages traveling through the forests as they arrive, greeted at the castle by servants and the King and Queen themselves in a richly decorated castle that will smell of spices and the feasts for the next few days.
