Who: Albus Potter, Professor McLeod, and Minerva McGonagall
What: Albus is a Seer
Where: Library and Headmistress' office
When: Mid Afternoon
Rating: PG at most.
Status: Complete

How did Albus get himself into these kinds of situations? Sitting on a bench near the Headmistress' office with Professor McLeod pacing up and down the hallway giving him death glares. Looking back, maybe this wasn't such a good idea. But there was nothing he could do about it now.

Albus was curious as to why Peeves was acting the way he was recently. Peeves is a pain, yes, but not usually to this extent. If he could solve this problem the entire student body would praise him. Ned refused to join him on figuring out why Peeves was so peeved off. Something about his honor as a prefect already being in the dirt already. Albus thought that, that was a load of bullocks but if Ned wanted to be boring Albus couldn't stop him. So off he went on his own.

He had been doing some snooping in the dungeons, the Bloody Baron was the only one who could control Peeves. Unfortunately all that did was get him a detention tomorrow night by Professor McLeod. Not that Albus really cared. He got detention all the time for just breathing in McLeod's class. So if sneaking around the Dungeons was a problem the next best idea was research in the Library. Which also meant sneaking past Peeves.

With the unwilling help of a few second years, Albus was able to get in an out of the library easily. He had grabbed a few books that would have the Bloody Baron in them and poltergeists. It didn't help at all. Albus hates doing research of any kind and to go out of his way and get nothing out of it... well lets just say he wasn't too happy.

Knowing that he already had detention with McLeod for being in the dungeons, Albus decided that cornering some Slytherin first years about the Bloody Baron would be a better idea. And he did just that, only to learn that the Bloody Baron hadn't been seen since the start of Peeves reign of terror. To himself Albus said, "So that's why he's been so crazy. He can get away with it!"

Out of the goodness of his heart Albus made his way toward Professor McLeod's office knowing that it would just be that much sweeter to say he solved the schools problem to his "favorite" professor. Albus knocked on McLeod's office door smirking to himself to notice a few second years standing outside of it as well, it was clear they were up to something by the state of their appearances. They reeked of dungbombs and their shoes had mud all over them. "You should probably clean the mud off of your shoes if you want to claim innocence." And all three boys looked over and muttered a cleaning charm. "Thanks," they said shortly.

A prefect took the three trouble-making boys away and Albus just rolled his eyes. They didn't know anything about covering up their crimes and would probably suffer detention for it. Albus got bored of waiting and strolled into McLeod's office. "Dexter! Long time no see!" He said throwing himself into the professors chair. "I solved our little Peeves problem!"

McLeod did exactly as Albus expected, the man practically turned purple with all the screaming he did. So instead Albus was dragged all the way down to the Headmistress' office by his ear.

And thats how he ended up sitting right outside of McGonagall's office. Eventually after McLeod had almost worn a hole through the floor with all of his pacing, McGonagall opened up her office and took both men inside. Soon Albus realized that McGonagall thought he had something to do with Peeves' crime spree and that he wasn't going to be awarded points for solving the case. That would be too easy. How was he going to get himself out of this one?!

Lie. That's all Albus could think to do to cover his tracks. "I saw it!" As if this one thing would cover up everything. "I'm a Seer!"

It took another hour of talking to the good headmistress for her to believe it, she was still skeptical of course but she was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Albus couldn't believe he had gotten away with that lie. It would allow him to know things that he shouldn't and space out in classes without his teachers yelling at him.
