All I need is some good news to put me at my ease. [open!]
WHO: Marianne Zabini and tbd
WHAT: Marianne uses some library time to finalize things for the newspaper.
WHEN: Afternoon/ Sunday, February 1st
WHERE: The library at Hogwarts
RATING: PGish, I’m assuming? Idek. We’ll see as it goes along.
STATUS: In progress

Marianne’s journal entry had only been…partially truthful. She had been well aware of Club Rush week, and simply had absolutely no intentions of participating. There were far more important things for her to concern herself with. Besides, if the staff of Hogwarts only publication wanted to have a party at The Three Broomsticks it could be arranged no problem, and without running about the school like maniacs begging people to join their ranks. On top of that it was all highly undignified, not to mention it threw all concept of standards and qualifications out the window. While other organizations could not boast such selectivity, any one that she was in charge of- well, almost in charge of- certainly would as long as she had a say in the way things were run. So she had passed on that wonderful little endeavor, thank you very much.

It was early enough on a Sunday afternoon that the library wasn’t crowded yet. The fact that it was still the very beginning of the school year also contributed to that, since not all of the Professors were being gung ho with lessons and assignments just yet. Still, there were always that select few who were determined to make their students’ lives miserable from day one and pile as much work onto them as possible. Those few were the reason for the small selection of books and parchments scooted thoroughly to Marianne’s left on the table she was sitting at. It would undoubtedly be in her best interest to give those some attention eventually, but for the moment that was not the case. Instead, her focus was on what was directly in front of her. Every edition of the newspaper was assembled and organized in the exact manner it would appear as when distributed, and then that ‘mock-up’ had to be finalized and approved by someone of a proper authority before any copies were made and dispersed among the rest of the school. Naturally, Marianne fell into the category of being someone of ‘proper authority’. Deep brown eyes meticulously scanned a page for imperfections or mistakes, turning to the next once she was done with a simple flick of her wand. No need to mar the pages with fingerprints, even any a superb as her own. Usually Edmund would be the one to do this, but he was often otherwise occupied, so such things fell on Marianne’s shoulders to carry out. A heavy burden to bear, yes, but far be it from her not to rise to the occasion. And of course, to make changes accordingly as she saw fit. An extremely self-satisfied smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she took in the next page. Why yes, she is quite pleased with herself at the moment.
