Who: Charlie and Dora What: Being wibbly and cute and making sure Charlie can dress like a grownup When: Wedding day! Before the fateful walk down the aisle Where: The bride's dressing room, as Tonks puts on those beloved little touches Why: Because it's time to get this wedding moving!
Nope. Tonks was still not completely convinced that the woman looking back at her from the mirror was actually her. Because, see, that girl was wearing a wedding dress. And Tonks was the girl who, at thirteen, had declared she was never getting married because no man was special enough.
But it was her. Because she'd found that someone who was special enough. Today she was going to walk through the church and marry the man who'd truly let her become an adult. She would finally be Remus' wife, after the hell they'd gone through the last several years. Her daughter would have both of her parents through sickness and health and all that nonsense.
With that thought, Tonks turned a proud eye to her daughter, who was resting in her carrier nearby. She'd have more than her fair of caregivers during the ceremony, and the reception that followed at Hogwarts, but for the moment, Tonks wanted Felicity with her. It probably wasn't traditional to have her little girl at the wedding, but then, Remus and Tonks were far from the traditional couple. Never mind Felicity being born before her parents got married. There was a thirteen year age difference, there was the small fact that he was a werewolf, and oh yes, there'd been a war being fought all around them for the last three years.
None of that mattered. "You don't care, do you?" Tonks asked Felicity, reaching down to pick up and scourgify the pacifier that the baby had dropped. She offered it to the infant once more and smiled. "You love him just as much as I do, don't you? We're going to be the most amazing family, you know that?"
So needless to say, it was with tears in her eyes that she called, "Come in," when there was a knock on the door. Probably her mother, checking to make sure she hadn't gone and made her hair pink pre-wedding, or maybe Ginny, offering last minute assistance.
