Who: Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour
When: Wednesday Afternoon
Where: Gringotts
What: Bill comes to talk to Fleur
Rating: Low?
Status: In progress

Now that he had his memories back, Bill was busy playing catch up. He'd been locked in his office for days on end. His secretary, a sweet middle aged witched named Lucy, had been warning people not to bother Bill as they were likely to get their heads ripped off. So when he finally emerged Wednesday afternoon looking tired and scruffy, Lucy sent him home to shower and clean up.

When he finally showed up back to work, Bill decided that maybe it was time to pop in and talk to Fleur. Walking over to her office, Bill knocked on the door and peeked his head in. Merlin, she looked gorgeous. It was still hard for him to think about her without remembering all of the disappointments they suffered.

"Do you have a minute?"

Fleur was sitting at her desk going over some paperwork. She was deep in thought and her hair that was up earlier that day was falling loosely around her shoulders. She tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear when she heard a faint knock at her door. Looking towards it, she did not move from her desk chair. "Entrez!"

Much to her surprise, Bill entered and not someone that was there to bother her about getting her work done. Standing up and looking at him with some confusion she nodded. "Oui. What is it, William?"

"I wanted to apologize," he said and closed the door behind him as he entered her office. "I wasn't really in control of my head, but you had to deal with me being fucked up and I can't imagine that was easy for you. So, sorry." Bill walked over to her desk, the scent of her perfume tickling his nose. She always wore just enough to be noticed when you were close to her and it made a man wanted to bury his face in the curve of her neck.

"And I wanted to explain myself. About Lavender."

Her gaze followed him as he stepped into her office and walked toward her, shutting the door behind him. She wasn't sure why, but this felt exceptionally strange, she tried hard not to think about that though. He was trying, much harder than she anticipated and she certainly couldn't punish him for that. It was what she wanted, after all.

There were two chairs in front of her desk that she used for customers, and so she circled her desk and sat down in one, motioning for Bill to take the other. She nodded when he apologized, not really have many words to say which was strange for her and then let him finish with his statement about Lavender.

She opened her mouth to speak, but paused before continuing. "I- It was not your fault what 'appened." She gave him a faint smile and crossed her legs, leaning back in the chair. "Zo, an explanation would be nice, oui."

Bill sat down in the chair, making a little face at very Fleur it was. He was tempted to tease her about it, gently rib her about her delicate furniture and how he broke that sofa at her mother's once, but they didn't feel like themselves and he didn't know if he could tease her. A smile crossed his face as he remembered though. It'd been an ugly sofa and he was secretly glad he broke it.

"There was this little girl. Lavender wanted to adopt her and they wouldn't let her. I thought, mistakenly, that Lavender was ready to be a mother because people don't just think about adopting a child like it's getting a dog or something." At least in Bill's world. When someone wanted a child they wanted a child for the right reasons and he assumed that all people felt that way. "I thought that if I was there to help her she'd have a better chance. I didn't want the werewolf laws to stop her from something like that and there was a little girl without a home." In his head it'd made sense. Looking back, Bill could see what a dumb idea it was. But once upon a time people had thought marrying Fleur was a dumb idea, too.
