Who: Roger and Mandy
When: Wednesday Night
Where: Mandy's house in Cornwall
What: Discussions and stuff
Status: Complete!
Rating: Low. No sex. I swear.

Mandy was at home and Hesper had finally decided she'd had enough of exploring the surrounding area and had come home, meowing at the front door. Sitting on her sofa, staring at the fireplace, Mandy's thoughts strayed all over the place. She was exhausted. Mentally, physically and she was just- she didn't know what to do anymore. Her mind had been plagued with thoughts of Roger and Fleur all day. She shouldn't be questioning any of it but she was. Roger wasn't the same person that she'd been in love with? Well, he was and he wasn't. The added fame had changed him some and while she wanted to believe that he was still the same...

Roger had always had a larger than life personality and girls had always been attracted to him. Even in school. There'd been Cho and Marietta and Fleur and Katie Bell. He'd spent half his years there snogging the entire school. Hell, she was even a part of that list. Lavender Brown was even on the list. Sighing, Mandy idly stroked Hesper, trying to think of anything but Roger and Fleur jewelry shopping together.

Fleur. Fleur was perfection. Mandy couldn't even compete with that. Standing up, cat in hand, she headed upstairs and into the loo. Glancing in the mirror, she groaned. Of course she couldn't compete. Fleur was doing yoga every day and Mandy barely had time to sleep. Stripping down to her knickers and bra, she looked herself over. There was no possible way she'd ever look like Fleur Delacour. Mandy was bloated, there were dark circles under her eyes and her skin was pallid and pale. Hesper jumped onto the back of the toilet, batting at the end of the towel. Tossing her hair into a pony, Mandy slipped into a pair of plaid pajama pants and one of Roger's t-shirts.

She looked awful and she felt awful. She barely had time for Roger. It was no wonder he was seeking the company of other girls. If she was him, she probably would be, too. He probably couldn't even stand to look at her. He'd promised... promised things would be better and it'd be them and she wouldn't have to worry about other women and now the epitome of womanhood was going shopping with him and snogging him. French style. Wiping away the stupid tears that wouldn't seem to go away, Mandy washed her face, more than ready to just sleep.

Mandy stared at herself for a moment, noting a few things but pushing them aside. It was just a very bad case of PMS and possibly the flu. That was it. That was all she was allowing it to be. She relaxed against him, drinking another glass of water. Everything that had been going on had been a sign of her PMS. It was just PMS. Though, her eyes flickered to her breasts and then to her abdomen. Just PMS. "I kind of did," she said, meeting his gaze in the mirror. Turning, she wrapped her arms around his neck, letting him hold her for just a minute. She wasn't ready to answer that question but she let him carry her back into the bedroom and tuck her back into bed.

"A couple of days ago," she said, tiredly, nudging Hesper with her toe. "I think it's just the flu. People've been a bit ill at the Ministry. I'm sure it's just- something catching." She wasn't going to worry him about anything else. Besides. It couldn't be that. There was no way. They were careful. Always careful. Roger had been since... well, since Lavender and she was sure he didn't want any other... mistakes. Her brow furrowed and she moved, settling next to him, head resting on his chest.

"Oh my God..." she whispered, barely audible. His mother's. No. That was just a few weeks ago. It couldn't be. No. She was overreacting. Had it happened before? Had they forgotten any other time... She couldn't even count the number of times they had sex. It was usually every other day and more than likely twice... "No..."

"Nothing I've never done before," Roger shrugged, giving her a small smile. "And I did it to myself, so. Definitely can overlook yours." He settled her back into bed, then crawled in beside her, yawning. He was exhausted. He definitely couldn't wait for the weekend to actually get some rest and spend time with his girlfriend. Although he needed to run drills with their idiot Seeker at some point. By the time Mandy finally answered his question his mind was already miles away.

"A couple of days?" He frowned at her in the darkness. "You should've told me." He reached for her hand, wrapped it in his. It was cold. "Promise me if it gets worse you'll tell me. And I'll take you to Mungo's. Or calling my Healer over if you're going to be stubborn."

He yawned again and felt her stiffen, tilted his head to kiss her forehead. "You say something, Books?" Fuck, he was tired.

Mandy was going to be sick. Again. And this time it had nothing to do with being, well, sick. She didn't even hear Roger. All she could do was count the days. Over and over and over again in her head. Oh Merlin. This wasn't happening. It wasn't supposed to happen. No. She was just panicking because she was tired and stressed and things had been a bit rough lately. She was suddenly afraid to move. Afraid if she did, he'd know what she was thinking and she couldn't begin to deal with that. No. This was just- not happening. It was fine. They were fine. Sure, she might want this someday but he'd just gone through- No. She was sure it'd be along while before Roger would even want to have a child and she didn't blame him. It was hardly three months since he lost his baby with Lavender...

"Oh," she said, his words finally penetrating the layers of terror. "I'm fine. Probably just a virus or something. They can't do much for viruses..." She wasn't even sure what she was talking about at this point. This was not good. She was preg- No. She couldn't even think that. "But yes. If I'm not better..." She had a feeling she wasn't getting better anytime soon.

"Nothing," she murmured, a fine tremble running through her. "Just cold and tired." Mandy leaned up, kissing him softly on the lips before tucking her head back against his chest and pulling herself closer to his warmth. "Just go to sleep..." She could hear the exhaustion in his voice and his recovery hadn't been easy. "I know you need some rest..." Fuck.
