Who: Gavin and Pavarti
Where: Lunch at the Leaky!
When: Tuesday afternoon
What: Gavin and Pavarti have lunch.
Rating: Surprisingly low, maybe PG-13 for language and innuendos.
Status: Ongoing.

Gavin was wearing a pair of ray-band sunglasses over his eyes, keeping the sun from frying his brain into an even deeper and more prolonged sort of pain. He usually didn't have hangovers, because he never really stopped being drunk long enough to have them, or usually had a quick trick for them. Last night though, there had been a lot of craziness going around. First of all there was a bloody fucking orgy that began without him, but he was more than happy to join in on. Though it really wasn't an orgy because of the parameters of the--he stopped his own train of thought there. If he began thinking of Pavarti naked, he'd want to sleep with her and this was supposed to be a sex-less date with actual discussion. Too late though, he just thought of her naked. He'd live though, fact was he was too hungover to really want to do anything of that nature.

Instead he made his way into the Leaky and ordered himself something greasy and fried, before taking a seat at one of the booths with cup of coffee. He wore a black t-shirt, it had some random white design on it. This was worn over a pair of jeans and some black boots. His hat was once again that black newsboy hat, if only because he got it last night from someone, wasn't sure who, but suddenly discovered he liked it. The booth was nice because he was able to lean back painlessly, and sipped at his whiskey-laden coffee. He wasn't getting drunk, just taking the edge off so the headache wasn't so bad. That made logical sense right?

He waited for her to enter, actually happy to be having an actual sit down with Pavarti and talking with her. She was one of the few girls in the world he could spend a day with, without doing anything sexual, and still be so ridiculously hot that it didn't make any sense. That was her. She was awesome naked, she was just as awesome with her clothes on and that made her worthy of the title 'friend that is girl'. He sipped at his coffee, and let out a breath laying his head back as he waited. Sunglasses still keeping the sun that wasn't there away.

This whole not having a job things was getting rather boring for Parvati. She was used to spending nearly every waking moment under the tyranny of an evil editing dictator, so the free time was actually quite unsettling. She was excited to go somewhere proper with Gavin. Although she wasn't the type of girl to get clingy or have expectations that were too high for the type of relationship they had, she was still happy that he liked her enough to go somewhere with her when it was daytime, he wasn't drunk, and the possibility of sex was at least minimized.

She loved that Gavin was always able to make her laugh and even when she had the shittiest days he could at least make them a little bit better. She left her house in jeans, which was unusual for her but she still looked nice.

She apparated to the Leaky Cauldron and spotted Gavin right away as it wasn't too busy on a Tuesday. She waved at him and smiled widely, sitting down across from him. "Hello love! Don't you look just dashing?" She stood up attempting to kiss him from across the booth, but she was entirely too short to reach him, so she kissed her own and and then tapped him on the cheek.

"Well hello to you too beautiful," he chuckled and watched her sit down across from him. He leaned back in his seat, and then blinked when she kissed her fingers and put them against his cheek. He winked back at her, and grabbed her hand, kissing the fingers she kissed. Letting her hand go, he offered her a spot of his coffee, "It's got some Irish Whiskey in it. Coffee and Whiskey really make hangovers go away. Or it's a placebo affect, I'm not really sure."

He chuckled and leaned back in the booth again, looking her over, "I look about as dashing as you do beautiful. So I suppose that means I'm absurdly dashing--should I tone it down? Because you shouldn't."

He loved her smile, he thought maybe that when not in typical drunk, horny Gavin mode, that was one of her greatest features to him. If he were being mushy about it. Gavin didn't get mushy though, right? Right. He let out a breath and turned his brow up, "Go ahead and order. I ordered fried food, but that's my day after being drunk meal."

She giggled when his lips touched the palm of her hand, he really was sort of a gentleman wasn't he? She looked at the coffee and wrinkled her nose. "No thank you. I think I'm going to stick with normal coffee today." While Parvati didn't have too much to drink the night before, she was pretty little and it didn't take much for alcohol to effect her. The idea of having anything with whiskey in it just wasn't appetizing at the moment.

She was laughing again at his statement, not quite blushing but looking like she could have blushed. "You're entirely to sweet to me." She looked over to the waiter that was working for that time and waved him over. "Uhm. Yes, I think I'll have cheese fries. And pumpkin juice." While Parvati seemed like the type of girl who would eat salad all of the time, she was more the type to eat whatever she was craving. Fast metabolism, it was a gift. Thanks mum.

After the waiter had left she placed her elbows on the table, resting her chin in her hands. "So. How's the music coming along?"

"Suit yourself, but it's magical," he took the cup up and took a long sip from it before leaning back against the booth seat. Watching her, he shrugged his shoulders and nodded, "I am far too sweet to you. There's obviously something wrong with me, because I've seen you strike at people before--you're not all sweet."

He watched as his Fish and Chips were dropped before him, and found himself more than pleased with the decision. He offered her a fried fish, while looking back at her, "Cheese fries? Stop it, you're breaking every stereotype I've ever had about hot girls. It's turning my world upside down, and I have a hangover, I can't do upside down."

Still, he was actually surprised to see what she ordered and this girl was proving to be the exact opposite of the picture he painted in his mind of every girl in the world, and it was hitting him rather hard. She didn't seem snobbish at all! And he damn well knew she wasn't a prude. He studied her a moment, then took a bite of his fries, before shrugging, "The music? Oh well, you know... it's uhm.. I have changed the title for the third time on my most recent song. I think it's the real title I'm going to use now."

He didn't have any of the actual song written, but he had a title, and that was easily the most important part--right?

Parvati grinned knowingly at his statement. It was true, she could be viscous, but only for good reason- or at least for what she considered good reason. She didn't really think Gavin would be on that side of things though. He was entirely too wonderful and if he somehow got there, he'd probably be able to weasel his way out somehow by being charming and making her laugh.

She laughed at his statement about her order, but didn't regret her choice. She liked to eat, oh well. The waiter brought her fries and set them down in front of her. She picked one up and looked at Gavin "I'm sorry to cause something like that. But I'm hungry!" With that she bite the fry in half, chewing it thoroughly.

She was genuinely interested in what he had to say. She played the cello, if that counted, but that was more because he mother made her play an instrument when she was younger. "Oh! What's it called?" While she had seen Gavin mess around on his guitar some, it was more playful than him actually showing her his music.

He shrugged and chuckled, "I'm all for whatever you want to eat. I love a girl that eats like me and looks like you, it's somehow creepy and hot at the same time. Creepy because it's like you're the female version of me, and you don't want to be that."

He ate at his plate some as he listened to her, and then shook his head, "Oh uhm, it's called 'Here Without You'. I haven't really started writing it yet, so I guess it could still change; just, you know, you have no idea what anything's going to be about until you start writing. I just have an idea."

He cleared his throat, "Speaking of ideas. Didn't you tell me the other day that Lavender and you had some amazing ideas, or big ideas or something that you were working on? The reason why you're actually able to be here at this time in the afternoon to have a worryless lunch."

Parvati just assumed that Gavin's statement was a compliment, and she was smiling at him again. "I don't think it would be so bad being the female version of you. I'd probably have a lot of fun." She imagined what it would be like to be him, but then got a mental image of her having sex with herself and couldn't decide if that would be creepy or weirdly hot. She decided it was probably a question better left unanswered. Well, for the time being at least.

"That sounds nice. I've never heard you play one of your songs." And she would like to sometime, but she wasn't really sure if that's what you did in this sort of er, relationship. If you'd even call it that. "Some times the best creativity is sparked with an just an idea. I bet it will turn out great." It was true, the best fashion designs Parvati ever sketched were always from some silly thing that Lavender said, or some incident which made her decide to change the way a certain outfit would be designed. She wouldn't bore him with that though.

Pav's eyes got big and she smiled again. She was JUST SO excited for what her and Lavender were going to do. "Well. It's still very much in the works." She took another bite of a fry and then continued, "But we are thinking about opening up a store. She wants to open up a divination shop and I was thinking about opening a boutique where I could sell my clothing designs. I'm not really sure if we want to combine them or if we are going to have them next to eachother. I don't know if it's going to work out, but honestly Lavender was really upset that I was still working at Witch Weekly. It was written on her face every time I talked about it. It was probably better than I quit for our friendship and all that." Parvati didn't really know that she was being a good person by doing that, and she spoke about it like it wasn't even that big of a deal. Things like this just didn't phase her. Though, she was rather worried about not having a job. She didn't want to have to go to her Dad for money again, she was trying to make it on her own. She kept having to remind herself of that. At least Padma was still working.

It was more than likely a compliment. Gavin rarely went out of his way to insult someone unless he thought it necessary. He wasn't a fan of confrontation at any rate; he was far more into having fun and just enjoying yourself in every facet of life that you could. It was his trademark essentially, and really what made him who he was. Still, as he watched her going to work on her fries he laughed, "Well you can't be the female version of me. You've actually had jobs and careers and starting your own. If I had a galleon for every time someone told me they wanted me to have that kind of stuff. Well, I'd have a lot of galleons."

Another bite, and he leaned back as he stared at her, watching her go on about his music a small bit and cleared his throat, "Well, I have a song or two I suppose I could play you. I mean, if... if you ever wanted to hear them. Even you and I have down time."

He'd used his stature as 'musician' to get girls before, but the idea of actually playing one of them a song hadn't occurred to him since sixth year--when he'd asked a girl out by serenading her at dinner in the Great Hall. In front of everyone. Ever since then though, he hadn't even bothered to try. He couldn't help but smirk though when she began to go on about her and Lavender's ideas. He thought, clicking his finger against the table.

"You should open two shops, and have them back to back. So one facing one street, the other facing a parallel street. Have the shops connected by a hallway. On the right of the hall way is, say, your storage space. On the left is hers. Since it's connected though, you only have to pay for one space. You just pool your money together from both shops for that one space, but otherwise you both can do whatever you want with your particular shops. And then customers can go from divination to the boutique via that hallway. Convenient, quick, and easy. Then you could either build an apartment on top, or..... OO A PUB!"

He nodded as he pointed that out, then shrugged, "Well I know that job was stressing you out. So quitting it was good for you, not just your friendship. Although ... when you're frustrated, and annoyed, and pissed off that usually equals a great night for me. Hmm. We'll have to find someone else to piss you off."

Parvati looked at him sympathetically. Why couldn't people just mind their own business? Who cared what Gavin did with his life? That was the point it was his. "I'm sure you would. But I like it that you do what you want to do. It's er, inspirational!" She smiled at him again against her cup as she took a sip of pumpkin juice.

"I would love to hear your songs!" She was excited to actually. From what she could tell he was pretty good at guitar and even sometimes when he sang after a long night of drinking, it wasn't that bad.

Parvati listened to his ideas thinking that he was actually on to something wonderful. "That sounds wonderful! Well, except for the pub part. I don't think I could own a pub. Too many shady characters and all that. BUT I mean, I didn't even think of that. Lavender would like it because she still gets her own shop and I could start designing and... GAVIN! I COULD KISS YOU RIGHT NOW!" He really was a lot smart than he let on. His business plan was pretty fullproof. She would just have to talk to Padma about all that, well businessy stuff or whatever.

She snickered at his comment. "Oh, I'm sure we could figure something out. Just bring Pansy Parkinson around. That'll do the trick."

"Inspirational? That might be the wrong word, but alright. I can see that. Nah, it's just how I am. Best to live life how you want to, not how others want to. That's what I always say, and I don't actually always say that. I only sometimes say that," he laughed, "Actually that's the first time I've said it."

He sipped at his coffee again, and then shrugged, "Well then, you'll hear them when the time arrives." He actually coughed following her excitement over his idea and laughed, taking another long drink before setting it down and watching her go nuts. He didn't know if she knew this, but she was absolutely beautiful, and the way she laughed. He blinked and quickly shook his head of those sorts of thoughts.

"Well if you want, I'm all for a kiss from you. My breath just smells like coffee, whiskey, and fish right now. That's probably not something you want. And yea, I think together--if you put your minds and ideas together--you could really get the shops off the ground. Could call the shop something like "Foreseen Beauty" or whatever. Play on the combination of the two shops."

He finished off his fish and chuckled, "I could bring in Pansy, but then I don't think we'd be having sex. I think we'd be running from the authorities."

Parvati was not the type of girl to settle down, this she knew. But she always imagined that if she did it would be with someone like Gavin. She didn't need someone important or perfect, just a person that could make her laugh and that she could have fun with. It was easier for Parvati to be in this type of erm, arrangement because it meant not getting hurt and being able to do whatever she wanted. She stopped thinking for a moment and responded to him, leaning forward towards him on the table. "You are ridiculous."

He was sweet. And handsome. And surprisingly, yet satisfying good in bed. And she really needed to stop thinking about him. "Maybe after a mint." She winked at him proving that she was kidding around. Really, she'd kiss him anytime. "And that's totally smart! Like. I'm definitely going to have to tell Lavender about that! We're going to have to put a plaque with your name on it outside of the store or something!"

Parvati pondered his statement. "You're right. If there is anything that turns me off, it's bloody Pansy Parkinson. Stupid bint." Honestly, Parvati was kind of pissed at herself for even bringing her up in conversation. She literally hated that girl. If she died, Parvati would throw a party. "I guess you're going to just have to think of something."

In truth Parvati was the first thing to a 'real girlfriend' Gavin had ever had since probably sixth year. He didn't 'date', he didn't really do the exclusive thing; she just happened to be the one he enjoyed hanging out with the most. He was around her more than other girls, and when she was at an event he gravitated towards her. He rather loved their relationship, if one could call it that. It allowed you to be friends, to have fun, without any of the nagging consequences of most relationships.

He crossed his arms over the table and watched her. He chuckled, "No plaques. You just are required to model your designs for me. Good trade off? I give you my idea for the business, I get to see you in your designs. Especially the skimpy ones. Or just a three way with you and your sister."

That last one was a joke though, smirking as he ducked back against his seat in preparation for any sort of retaliation she might throw his way.

To be honest, she was surprised they were heading to the loo to have sex right now. Not that she would mind if that ended up happening, but she quite liked talking to him as well. He was fun.

"Deal. I have a lot of skimpy designs. A whole lingerie line actually. But I should probably focus on the clothing first." His last statement made her open her eyes wide at him, pretending that she was extremely offend, though you could tell she was kidding. "I do NOT do three ways with my sister!" She took one of her fries off of her plate and threw it at his head for affect. "You're just going to have to settle for me and Lavender or something." She pondered for a moment, that could probably be fun. Then again, "I think she might be getting serious with Bill. And you know when they get all wolfy and protective and all that."

"But it'd be like getting two of you for the price of one. Though I can definitely tell you're much hotter, and it's obvious you're probably better in bed," he was hit by the fry, then popped it into his mouth. Chuckling, he leaned forward, "I suppose I could settle for someone else. You on your own is pretty damn good too."

Still, he thought a moment, "But yea they're probably serious now. Good on them though, the wolf thing will be good that they both have it going on. Would that mean their kids are werewolves too? Curious to think about, but still. They can go through some of the stuff together, and have an understanding. Or whatever. Never the less, a three way is hardly necessary. Skimpy outfits should be good enough."

Parvati thought about Padma for a moment. She loved her sister, she really did, but it was a wonder she even lost her virginity. She was pretty sure Padma had only had sex like, once. "Hey! You just ate my fry!" She giggled, but then got more serious looking at him seductively, a little smirk playing across her lips, "You're not so bad yourself."

She really did hope things worked out for Lavender and Bill. Yes, he was much older but he genuinely seemed to make her best friend happy which was the most important thing. "Er. Well he doesn't change, but they still get pretty annoyed near the moon. And the gene doesn't pass to their children. I only know that though because Lavender reminds me all the time when I make jokes." She was finished eating now, but she remained with her elbows on the table with all her attention on Gavin. "Your wish is my command, master." Hmm. Genie reference. They'd have to roleplay that sometime.

"Well yea, he doesn't change, but like he has the wolf in him or whatever. All I know is they should make things easier for one another. That'll definitely be nice," he then reached over and stole something else from her plate that he tossed into his mouth, while he waved the waiter over, ordering a Butterbeer now. He then glanced back towards her.

"I'm not 'ay? Well then I think we're a match," crossing his arms over the table, he tilted his head to the side, "My wish is your command? I'm almost turned on. Careful, this is supposed to be a purely PG-13 date. That being said, I like that." He winked with a chuckle before stretching his shoulders out some then leaned back.

"So what did you have planned for the day? I mean without having a job, you could accidentally fall prey to my life and just eat and drink all day, planning on different ways to get women, or in your case men, into bed. And coming up other crazy ideas that would never actually work, but helps pass the time."

Parvati stuck her tongue out at him a in a response to him stealing her food but she didn't say anything to him about it as she was done eating now. "We'll just have to see. God knows Lav has been having trouble with men lately. Hopefully this time is different." Although, it was fascinating sitting and watching the drama that was Lavender's life, Pav couldn't handle that. There were too many men and too many tears and she was not the kind of girl that would want to keep up with that shite. In fact, she really didn't have many men in her life at the moment at all. Her and Gavin were hardly exclusive, but she mostly depended on having sex with him when she wanted it. Obviously it wasn't like she didn't get offers, but she was happy with what she had for now.

"I didn't know that we had to have a rating when we went out together?" She smiled at him and thought about his next question. Honestly, she had nothing at all to do today. It was rather sad, actually. "Generally, men are trying to plan to get me into bed. I don't think if I try, it'll do me much good besides resulting in me becoming a huge tart. Men really don't say no like women do."She took another sip of her pumpkin juice and gulped loudly. "Though I would love to hear some of your tactics. I can only imagine what goes on in that handsome little head of yours."

"Hopefully it is different. At least for her sake, though her love life could be an interesting study done at many muggle universities," he was kidding of course, and that was noted in the way he smirked as he took a sip of his drink. He swirled the mug a bit, before setting it down and taking another long look at her. He popped a chip from his own plate into his mouth and turned up his brow.

"Well of course we don't require a rating. That's probably best, because who knows. Setting ourselves up for Pg-13 might be asking too much--never know where a day's going to go. Though this is nice actually. And no, you don't get to hear my tactics. They're prized possessions, top secret strategies that should never, ever fall into the wrong hands. I have to be careful with them, I can't just hand them out to anyone after all."

He turned his brow up and leaned forward against the table, "Although I never used any of the top tactics on you. If that's what you're getting at. Instead I used my unrelenting charm and bravado to get your attention. I couldn't use just my usual weaponry, I had to go bold for someone like you. That's a tactic in itself by the way, realizing that every other guy is going to pull out all the stops. Knowing that to stand out, for once, will require a far more bold and straight-forward tactic."

"I mean, it beats watching TV sometimes." And it was true. Lavender's life was literally ridiculous. Most people couldn't even keep up, except for Parvati. She knew that girl like the back of her hand.

Parvati stuck her lip out and pouted at him. "Darn. I was really wanting to learn the tricks of the trade!" She smiled at him knowing full well that he wasn't going to share any of his secrets with her.

She grinned at him, raising her own eyebrow. "Is that so? I wasn't getting at anything but that's nice of you to say." She took another sip of her pumpkin juice and looked up at him from her glass. "Someone like me? And what does that mean exactly?" She was being playful with him, studying him even. He looked nice. Sort of tired, but handsome and wonderful all the same. She also decided she was very happy that he wanted to go to lunch. It was nice to have someone, er, around or whatever.
