WHO: Augustus Pye and Eloise Midgen.
WHERE: WWN.
WHEN: Late, Sunday Night.
WHAT: Augustus is bringing Eloise dinner and is wondering how she gets him to do these things.
RATING: PG at the highest.
STATUS: In progress.

Augustus was just about to finish up the last of his paperwork when Eloise suggested he drop by the radio station to bring her dinner. While most of the time he had this sort of stoic indifference to people, Eloise had a way of getting him to do things that made him question himself sometimes. She was just so darn nice and sweet, and it was really hard not to at least feel a bit of happiness when you were around her. He shut his journal and brought his hands up to rub his eyes. Serves me right for taking this damn thing out at work anyway. He picked up his quill again and scribbled a few things on another sheet of paper and then set it neatly back in its proper place.

AJ's desk was perfectly organised. Everything was in the right order and place. Quickly, he gathered all of his paperwork and stacked it in a neat pile on his desk. He then took out another piece of paper and scribbled something on it.

Nancy,

Please have this sent to Harold on the third floor right when you get in. It's urgent.

Thanks,
Augustus

He grabbed his brief case and opened it, neatly filling it will papers and the things he needed for when he got home. Quietly, he charmed the suitcase so that it could fit in his pocket. He took the stack of papers he had just wrote and set them on his secretary's desk so she would see them in the morning. And with that, he was off to go get Eloise her dinner.

He stopped at an Italian restaurant and leaned over the counter. A lady was smiling at him, which made him turn his head and look down at his folded hands. When the cashier came up to the register, he seemed rather tired. "What will you be having today, sir?" Augustus scratched his head, "Err. Can I just get some spaghetti with tomato basil sauce?" Seriously? How did she get him to do these things?! "Oh. Yea. And an order of breadsticks with extra garlic on them. To-go. Thanks." The cashier nodded to him and a few minutes later came back with his order. He handed him some money and then grabbed the brown paper bag, rolled the top down, and walked out of the restaurant. He apparated to WWN when no one was looking and stepped inside quickly as if running into someone other than Eloise would be an absolutely dreadful thing to happen.

He saw Eloise through the glass window and held up the bag, pointing at it. When he entered, the room he smiled, perhaps for the first time the whole day. "Hey Lou."

Eloise tried not to hate anything. In fact, she tried to keep that word out of her vocabulary but she really, really... disliked her night shift. Working from ten to six in the morning was awful. Nobody listened to her show and she was really at a loss as to how to make it any more interesting. Idly scratching at her side, Eloise stared at her work station. She'd been doodling all night, shading and going over the same piece. She had this ridiculous idea stuck in her head and she couldn't seem to translate it to paper. Sighing, she propped her head on her hands and closed her eyes. Her playlist was set for the next ten minutes and she had little to do. Her station wasn't exactly popular and her show even less but she did what she could.

Glancing up, movement caught her eye and she spotted AJ through the glass. A smile lit up her face and she hopped out of her chair, bounding to the door and throwing it open just in time for her stomach to growl. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," she said, happily, mood finally lifting. "I'm so hungry." She grabbed his hand and pulled him inside before sitting back down in her chair. She kicked another rolling chair towards him and unrolled the bag. The smell of garlic and spaghetti filled the air and she sighed.

Scratching her side, she looked at him and smiled. He looked a bit tired and she felt a bit bad for him, dragging him out to bring her dinner. Guilt welled up inside of her and she glanced back down at her bag. "I'm really sorry I dragged you out here. But thank you so much." She had an interesting relationship with Augustus. He'd been four years above her in school and she'd always had a bit of crush on him. But, he'd left and then he'd gotten married and then divorced and she'd just figured he'd forgotten about her. Somehow, she'd turned into his wingman at the pub and watching women hit on him? It wasn't so much fun. But, Augie deserved to be happy.

Eloise was always so happy to see him. That was a nice change. Usually when Augustus had to talk to the Healer's in meant they did something wrong, and when he used to come home to Kyra, she would just begin yelling at him for being home too late to begin with. He handed her the bag instantaneously with her taking his hand and followed her to the chair she kicked at him.

Augustus took a moment to study her when she was unrolling the bag. She was the same Eloise, of course she looked ridiculous with the massive amount of colour that came from every part of her outfit, but he couldn't imagine her wearing anything else. If someone were to look in on them they would've been very confused with the way Eloise was dressed and him in his business suit. She almost looked too young to be spending time with him, but AJ tried to ignore that thought. He and Eloise never really talked about age.

"It wasn't a problem. You didn't drag me here. I apparated." Whenever Augustus spoke, it was so matter-of-fact like but someone he didn't seem like a jerk, just a guy who didn't have much to say, "So. How's the show going so far?" Although he already pretty muck knew, he figured he'd ask anyways. A lot of times, AJ would put on her station was he was late at the office. Hearing her voice made him feel less alone. Somehow though, he never really managed to tell her, though he suspected she knew he listened in.

Eloise smiled at his comment, taking her food out of the bag. She popped the top off the spaghetti and dipped a breadstick into the sauce. Merlin. She sighed. That tasted beyond heavenly. It was so good. Wrinkling her nose at his question, Elle looked up and shrugged. "It's going okay... I suppose," Elle said. She liked how AJ was interested in her life. It was a nice change of pace from most of her friends. He'd always been kind to her and she really didn't get why. However, she didn't know why he pretended to be interested in her job. She didn't do anything other than play songs. But, that was nice. He cared enough to stop inside and bring her dinner.

He was a bit sadder since his divorce and while she refused to have that puppy crush on him again, she couldn't help sneaking a glance at him. He was so handsome. Always had been and she'd always liked how tall he was. Nobody wore a suit quite like Augustus Pye. She'd been at his wedding and sat there with a smile on her face, happy to see him happy but it had pained her a bit.

Eloise scratched her side, really wishing it'd stop itching. It'd been bothering her all day and she'd been bouncing all over the place, she hadn't had a chance to look at it. She just assumed her shirt was irritating her skin or something. It was probably the tag. "Did you go out last night?" she asked, hoping he had. She hadn't been able to drag him out but he needed to get out more.

Augustus and Eloise had a lot more in common than you would think. When Augustus was in school, he didn't have many friends. He was the tall gangly kid that did all of his homework and wasn't much for having fun. He met Eloise because they both didn't necessarily have a place where they belonged.

He always knew Eloise to be beautiful on the inside, but she had changed a lot since her days in Hogwarts. She was still the same old Eloise, but now her exterior matched her interior.

"I was at the pub for a bit, but I went home early. How about you?" He noticed her scratching her side a lot, which made him question why she would be doing that. "Is something wrong there, Lou?"

Eloise remembered when AJ was awkward and geeky but he'd always been so nice to her. Well, he could still be a bit awkward but she always felt comfortable around him. He'd become a bit more... cold since his divorce and it really hurt her. She didn't like him being that sad. It wasn't him. He was quiet, sure and he really liked everything in its place. Merlin forbid if he ever saw her studio. She let out a tiny laugh, thinking that he'd just lose it. Maybe she should drag him over. He'd react one of three ways. He'd freak out, clean it up or just walk out and be done with Eloise and her crazy mess. Idly scratching her side, she took a bite of spaghetti, a pang of something she didn't quite understand shot through her when he said he went out.

"Oh," she said, nodding. She should be glad he went out. It was good for him. He needed that kind of break. She was still a bit sad he went without her but that's what they were working towards, right? "I'm glad. Did you have fun" She didn't really give him time to answer before she was talking again. "I didn't do much. I worked last night but before that I was engrossed in this new composition I'm working on. I'm working the kinks out but it's starting to come together."

Her brow furrowed as she glanced down at her side, lip pouting just a bit. "I'm not sure. It's been bothering me all day but I keep forgetting to look. I just assumed the tag was irritating me or something." Standing up, she lifted her shirt and groaned. On her side was a large, red bump. "Ew..."

Augustus thought for a moment. Did he have fun? He never was the type to tell a lie. "No, I didn't." Augustus never did think it necessary to dress things up. It was always better to present things as they were. You ended up being better off in the long run. "What kind of composition?" He didn't know why he cared, but he usually liked the things Eloise created. She was really a wonderful artist.

He was a bit taken aback when Eloise pulled up her shirt. He hasn't seen that much skin of hers, well ever probably. She was always in a million different layers of clothing topped of with a hat and socks and the like. He had to admit she was fit, and he was almost distracted for a moment by the milky skin on her stomach. He shook if off though when he saw the rather large bump on her side. "Lou. How did this happen?" His inner healer kicked in and he reflexively grabbed her hips, pulling her closer to him so he could get a proper look. Since he was in a chair, his face was closer to her shoulders, but he still had to lean down to get a look at the bite. "Have you been around any rhabidosa rabida as of late?"

"I'm sorry you didn't have fun," she replied, feeling a bit guilty. "Maybe I'll be able to make it next time." She shrugged and put on a couple more songs and an advertisement. "It's just something for my violin. A classical piece but it's a bit disjointed at the moment. Sometimes, I'm not sure if my ideas are for music or painting..." She wasn't even sure if that'd make sense to him.

Eloise was pretty sure nobody saw her most of the time so she wasn't exactly modest. It was just a stomach and it wasn't like he hadn't seen millions of those before. Still, she yelped when he pulled her closer. It was strange. She could practically feel his fingers burning through her trousers and it was... different. Nice, even. "I don't know," she said, following his gaze to the angry, red bump. It didn't look very good and it itched so bad that she had to keep from reaching down and rubbing it. It was much bigger than she'd thought, about the size of her fist. Huh. She hadn't even noticed it when she'd changed out of her paint-splattered clothes from earlier.

"A what?" she asked, thinking back to Care of Magical Creatures or even Herbology. But, those hadn't been her best subjects and she had no idea what he was talking about. "It really itches..." And the more she looked at it, the more it actually started to hurt. A dull, ache was spreading through her side but she'd been too distracted all day to notice.

She had to look away because the more she stared at it, the dizzier she became. She focused on AJ and the way he smelled and looked and how much she really did like him. He was so nice and he cared and that was wonderful. "It's really red..." she murmured, softly.

"I haven't heard you play violin in ages, I think I'd like to hear your song." He stated that plainly. Her artistic mind didn't make much sense to him. He imagined it was kind of crazy in there with all her ideas and such. If her brain was a bedroom, there would be clothes strewn all over the floor and paint spilling everywhere. His brain would contain a room of neatly colored coded folders, all in rows of file cabinets.

Augustus tried his best not to concentrate on his hands that were at her hips, or the fact that she was nearly straddling him because he pulled her so close. She smelled like vanilla... and paint which was a much more pleasant combination than you would suspect.

At the moment he was worried about the huge bump he was looking at. Honestly, how did she not notice this was there? Leave it to Eloise. "A rhabidosa rabida is a wolf spider. They are decently common around here. Usually their bites aren't this big, but I think you might be having an allergic reaction. That's probably why it's so red too. I'm going to apparate to St. Mungo's and get you some balm for it. I'll be right back. Don't look at it okay? Just breathe."

Although Augustus wasn't exactly a people person, he was pretty good at staying calm. Without another word he apparated to St. Mungo's (he had more apparating privileges because he was Head Healer) and grabbed the necessary items to help out Eloise. He apparated back to WWN quickly and resumed his seat on the chair, setting down the items next to him.

Again, he grabbed Eloise's hips and pulled her closer to him. Taking out his wand he pointed it the bump and said a spell. It immediately became flatter, but it was still red. He then set down his wand and got out some balm. It was cold, so he rubbed it between his palms before applying it to Eloise's side. He rubbed it on her waist, ignoring his sudden urge to graze his hands on the rest of her flat stomach. When he was done, he took a bandage and placed it on top of the bite. "That should be good, but if it starts acting up again, I want you to come and see me right away."

"You can come over if you'd like," she said, nodding. "I think you'd like it. It's very relaxing. Well, it's meant to be and hopefully when I'm done, it'll flow the way I want it to." She'd always liked sharing her music with AJ. He appreciated it.

Eloise was startled when he disapparated but she did what he said and didn't look. While he was gone, she ate another breadstick and tried not to think about how much she liked it when he was around. They were just friends. Strange and weird friends but just friends, nonetheless. He'd told her he and Kyra were divorcing and she'd seen the pain and devastation on his face. Briefly, but it had been there. Course, she never liked Kyra all that much but that was neither here nor there. Augie had loved her or still loved her or something. She tried not to rub the bite but she was feeling much more uncomfortable since she'd exposed the wound. Sighing, Eloise spoke cheerfully into the mic, setting up her next set. "And that was Celestina Warbeck with the classic, A Cauldron full of Love. Next up, a dedication from Nick to Genevive. The Weird Sister's newest single, Love Potion No. 328. Enjoy!"

She'd just set the playlist in motion, her head starting to pound when Augie popped in next to her. She gingerly pulled her shirt up, watching his hands rub the balm together. It was still a bit cold and she flinched but everything felt much better when he was done. She stiffened a bit, not sure she liked the reaction her body had to the feel of his hands on her. Friends. Just friends and that's all they'd ever be. He didn't see her as anything but. It was a nice feeling, though and she liked it.

Eloise looked down when he was done, realizing she was straddling one of his legs and her hand was on his shoulder as she braced herself. "Right," she said, nodding, clearing her throat, trying to step away. Her legs got jumbled and her nerves were feeling a bit stretched and instead of moving away, she tripped and fell forwards, knocking him and his chair over. The breath knocked out of her, Eloise just stared at him. "Sorry," she squeaked out.

Augustus thought about that for a moment. "Well, that depends. Am I going to have a heart attack when I see your living space?" He could only imagine how messy her place was, but for some reason it probably wouldn't bother him. Eloise basically took all the rules he lived by in life and threw them out the window.

If Augustus was going to be honest with himself, he was more upset about the idea of losing his wife than he was actually about losing Kyra. They never meshed well together and honestly, she was a bitch. She cheated on him, took his house, and his dog. The dog that he bought. He still remembered the day he and Eloise picked out Sadie. She was just a puppy then and he missed her more than he would ever miss Kyra. In fact, being here with Eloise practically made him forget about the whole thing all together.

The awkwardness settled in once he was done taking care of her wound, he looked up at her and smiled. He tried to scoot away, but he failed as Eloise knocked him down and fell on top of him. "Ouch." Reflexively he pulled his hands around her back and held her on top of him. "You okay Lou?" He tried to ignore the fact that this gorgeous girl was on top of him. It was true, he hadn't always found Eloise to be so, so mesmerizing.

Admittedly he hadn't been the best husband to Kyra, but he was loyal to her. He never thought of Eloise as more of a friend, but she had been helping him so much in the last few months and honestly, it was hard to ignore her when she was right on top of him.

"Oh..." she said, face falling a bit. Her place was a mess. She, of course, knew where everything was but it could use some tidying. It wasn't as though she was dirty. There weren't any dirty dishes or clothes lying about. Well, except her bras. They were hanging up across a line strung above her kitchen. Eloise's flat was really just two rooms. The loo and her living room, kitchen, bedroom, living room and studio area all crammed into one spot. She loved it but she wasn't so sure that AJ could handle... well, the mess of her whole place. It was just, untidy. Yes. That's a good word. Frowning, she shook her head, twirling a long strand of hair around her finger. "Probably, actually..." He would more than likely not enjoy her messy flat.

He had a very hard body. That was the first thing she noticed. She was an artist and she'd studied the lines of his face, the lopsided grin was one of her favourties and she didn't see it all that much nowadays. But being this close to him? It was strange. She stilled when his hands settled on her back. Staring at him, feeling a bit startled from their closeness, Eloise couldn't focus. She barely heard or understood his words and it was just...

"Oh Merlin," she murmured, eyes flicking to his lips. "I'm so sorry." She scrambled, squirming over him, trying to get up. She was so horribly awkward and she felt like a mess.

AJ thought about it for a minute. Her flat was probably his idea of a heart attack, but the more he thought about it the more he wanted to see it. Anything that belonged to Eloise was interesting to him, he was just going to accept that fact. "Well. Er. I think I'd like to see it anyway."

There she was again, on top of him, smelling wonderful. He was confused. Completely and utterly confused. When he realised that she was trying to get up, he placed his hands on her hips for a third time that night (honestly, he usually didn't even touch her, this was wierd) and he pushed her back off of him, trying to help her regain her balance. Once she was up, he got up as well. He pulled up the chair and stared at Eloise. "It's alright. I've had worse things happen, I assure you."

The funny thing was, once she was off of him, he kind of wished they hadn't moved. This rush of feeling was almost foreign to him, something he hadn't really felt in years. He decided to ignore it though, and began to scratch his head. "So, er. How long are you here for again?"

It was a little excited. She never really had anyone over. Except Hannah. And even Hannah couldn't stay long because of the paint. It'd be nice to have some company sometime. Though, she didn't know when he'd come over but she should probably try to straighten up the mess just a bit. She didn't want him to die or anything. That'd be awful. Still, having AJ over would be fun! She could show him her music and all that fun stuff. He hadn't ever come over when he was married. Not that she blamed him. It wasn't appropriate and he was so busy.

She wasn't so sure he'd had worse things then a chubby girl fall on him. She wasn't as chunky as she used to be but Eloise still, sometimes, saw herself as that girl with all the baby fat. People thought that's why she was a vegetarian but it wasn't that at all. She hadn't eaten meat since she was thirteen. She loved animals and she really didn't like the idea of masticating flesh between her teeth. It just didn't seem nice. Plus, all she could thing about was their cute faces.

Sitting back down in her chair, Eloise held up a finger, waiting for the song to finish. She read a dedication and told a quick story about a baby lamb and then put the music on before looking back at Augie. She idly rubbed her side and glanced at the clock. Making a face, she turned back to him, crossing her legs. "Oh. Well. I guess since it's almost midnight. Just a bit over six hours. I was thinking I'd go get breakfast when I got off. I've been thinking about crepes for days. With strawberries and cream!"

If Augustus were a normal person, he'd be tired by now. In fact, he was totaling on being up for nearly 20 hours and had only gotten about 3 hours of sleep the night before. But AJ was used to not sleeping, though sometimes his body would beg for it.

He rubbed his eyes lazily, and opened them blinking a few times. Eloise was doing her radio thing- which she was so great at, despite being the one who had to do the night shift. It was just because she was knew, he was sure she'd be a better spot sooner or later.

When she rubbed her side, Augie scooted his chair to her and grabbed her wrist gently. "Lou, I know it's hard but you've got to stop touching it or you're going to irriate it more." She stared at her for a moment before realising he was holding onto her for an entirely too large amount of time and let her hand drop back onto her lap. "Hmm. Breakfast would be nice."

Eloise crossed her legs, eyes flicking to Augie's fingers wrapped around her wrist. She watched her hand drop into her lap and she looked back up at him and smiled. Propping her head on her hands, she sighed. "It itches," she pouted, willing herself not to rub it. To keep herself from scratching, she sat on her other hand, tucking it under her bum. "Shouldn't you sleep or something?" she asked, brow furrowed. "It's late and I know you work in the morning." Course, she wouldn't mind if he joined her for breakfast. "We could have breakfast when you get up?" She knew he wasn't going to sleep more than five hours, if that, and she liked to drag him out when she could.

He looked so sad and lost. Frowning, Eloise reached out, letting her hand settle on his knee. "It'll get better, Augie," she said, softly. Elle gave him a bright smile and a small laugh. "I promise!" She really did believe everything wold work out for him. Augie was a wonderful person and he worked hard and was loyal and really, just the perfect man- person. Healer. Whatever. He was it.

"I'm sure of it!" she said, glancing at her hand, cheeks turning a bit pink. Sometimes, these days, things felt different with him. They'd always been close and friendly and she'd always liked him...well, more. But he wasn't interested that way. She knew that.

"I know it itches." He looked at her and tried to be sympathetic, but it probably came off more like something a father would say than anything else. "But you have to resist the urge, alright?" He smiled at her again (Merlin, he was doing that too much around her) and sighed. "Yes. I should probably get some sleep. But I won't." He began to rub the tense muscles in his neck with his hand, "Maybe if I stay up with you tonight, I'll be able to sleep tomorrow."

Honestly, Eloise made him smile more in one night than Kyra did in a month. He didn't understand why he was so bitter or so angry. Perhaps it was because she made him look foolish. Especially when he came home one night to her sitting on the couch staring blankly at him. She told him she cheated on him and then walked out, saying the divorce was next. If he were thinking clearly, he would've been happy that she told him instead of him finding out, but he couldn't help but feel like he'd never be enough for her. People were always expecting so much of him and somehow he always let them down. He was never that interesting, or very fun and it seemed like everyone around him abandoned him sooner or later.

He was taken from his train of thought when Eloise spoke to him. She sounded so sure of herself, and really it was hard not to believe anything that Eloise said. She was just so positive, fun, silly, and interesting. He had never met someone so full of life and while usually he found peppy people to be exhausting, she just made him want to be better. She made him want to be happier. He smiled weakly at her again. "Thanks Lou." AJ didn't know what else to say, but somehow he knew Eloise would understand that he was thanking her for a whole lot more than that comment. She helped him, she was a great friend, and if he thought he was good enough for her, even for a second, he would've made her his years ago.

She was surprised when he mentioned that he wanted to stay with her. She'd never had company at the station and usually, during the down time, she worked on her music, humming softly to herself. Or she'd sketch and draw. "Oh! If you stay? Could I draw you?" she asked, a hopeful smile on her face. "I really need to work on my portraits but nobody will sit around with me long enough and if you want to stay... I'd love it!"

Eloise knew she had to stop monopolizing his time. He needed to get out, find someone to date and start moving on from his ex-wife. She didn't like Kyra. That was mean to say buy, well, anyone who could turn Augie into this? It was awful. She must've been awful. Eloise didn't know Kyra well. She'd always felt that his wife hadn't liked their friendship or maybe it was all in her head. She didn't know.

"Oh my gosh!" Eloise exclaimed, looking at him, eyes excited. "Guess what?" Of course she didn't give him time to guess, Eloise was too excited. "That bloke who was sending me all those baskets of meat? I convinced his dad, who owned the butcher shop, to start selling tofu as well and he said he would! I get to go over and be the first person to buy it!" Eloise's little stalker experience had been rather off-putting, what with all the meat that Andrew had sent her, but, well, she supposed that getting the butcher on Diagon to sell tofu was quite an achievement. "And he's going to have eggplant burgers! I'm so excited!"

Augustus thought about it for a minute. Actually, he was incredibly interested to see what he would look like to Eloise's artistic mind. "I guess I don't have a problem with that." He remained in his chair then, not exactly sure what he was going to do with her for the next 6 or so hours, but he was sure it would fly by nonetheless.

He suddenly jumped a bit at Eloise's intensity. He chuckled a little bit at how excited she was and gave a little smirk when he was reminded of her 10 year old stalker. Honestly, before he knew who the kid was he's was pretty pissed about the whole situation, but after they found out it just made him laugh. "That's really great Louie. Now I'll know where to get you tofu if you ever come over for dinner." He wasn't sure if that was an invitation or not, because it just came out of his mouth without thinking. Augustus was actually a wonderful cook, though he wasn't home much to show off his talents.

Eloise was excited to draw Augie. Pulling out her sketchbook, she flipped to a blank page and started drawing. He was just... already in her mind, she really found she didn't have to stare at him as much as she wanted. Augie was handsome. That's really all there was to it. She'd always been attracted to him but she really wasn't so sure how to go about telling him. Or if she ever should? Probably not. He'd just divorced his wife and she was sure that was traumatic enough for him without some girl throwing herself at him. Course, he was one of her closest friends and she's not sure what she'd do without him. When he'd married Kyra and hadn't been around as much? She'd missed it so much and she didn't think she could go through that again. She just hoped to always be his friend.

Smiling, she tucked her hair behind her ear, glancing at him. "Dinner would be nice," she said, knowing that he meant it in a purely platonic way. "I actually don't eat tons of tofu. I like it but I really like pastas and salads and the like. Being a vegetarian doesn't mean I eat just weird stuff."

She reached out, touching his face, turning it just a bit. He had lovely lips. She wanted to tell him that but that might be a bit weird. Instead, she cleared her throat and looked back at what she was working on. "So," she said, trying to find something to talk about. "Are you dating anyone yet?"

He loved the way she looked when she drew things. Different from her normal self, more serious, but still Eloise all the same. She was perfect honestly. Even in school, obviously she was too young for him then, but he always thought she was lovely. And it angered him. He stuck up for her sometimes, it landed him a lot of grief, but he'd never stop. Ever.

"Pasta's good. I'm good at pasta." He looked confused when she touched his face but went with it, knowing there was probably some artsy reasoning behind it.

He wrinkled his nose at her question. Honestly? The only woman in his life was Eloise and he liked it that way. He scratched his head. "Well, er, no. Definitely not. Yea." He didn't know why but he hadn't thought about it, but really women embarrassed him more than they interested him.

Her finger absently traced the line of his jaw before she turned back to the work at hand, listening to him talk. Augie didn't say a lot but she didn't mind the silence. It was always nice and comfortable between them. Well, it used to be. Things had definitely changed a bit and she wasn't sure where to go with that. So, instead, she just continued drawing. She leaned back, biting her bottom lip as she studied his bottom lip, idly tracing her own. It wasn't right. She erased it a bit and then redid the lines, nodding. "I make pasta a lot," she said, smiling up at him.

Looking up at him, she leaned forward, and smiled. "Really?" she asked, a bit surprised. "But girls love you. They're always watching you." She nodded and looked back at her drawing. The idea of him dating someone else was sickening but she ignored it. He deserved to be happy. "There isn't anyone at work you're interested in? At all?" Didn't blokes need to have sex ALL the time. Course, just cause he wasn't dating didn't mean he wasn't having sex...

She was beautiful. Uncommonly, wonderfully beautiful and he found himself staring at her in the silence. When she traced his jaw he resisted the urge to pull her hand up to his lips and kiss each one of her fingertips. As he was studying her, her hair fell in front of her face. Before she had the time to remove it herself, he pushed the strand behind her ear, the back of his hand brushing against her cheek. He stared at her, rather intensely before looking away quickly. Merlin. Stop that. She's your friend you idiot. He was really going to have to control himself better.

She was talking about him dating again. He didn't want to talk about dating. She was probably trying to get him away from her. It had to be a drag hanging out with a washed up healer who's wife left him because he was an unemotional workaholic. "Er. Well I don't know about that." Honestly? AJ didn't notice when girls were interested in them because frankly, he had absolutely no interest in them. He couldn't think of an answer to her question, so he raked his mind for something to say. "Well, er no. I mean, Angelina Johnson smiles at me a lot but I uh. Well no there isn't anyone really." Damn. He sounded like an idiot.

She looked up at him as he tucked her hair behind her ear, feeling the back of his hand brush against her cheek. She gave him a shy smile, trying not to lean into his touch. Just friends. that was it. That was all they'd ever be. She nudged his leg with her toe and looked back down at the portrait she was working on. Half listening for the end of her playlist, she paused and recorded her blurb before queuing up her next set. It was a love show so she played a lot of love songs and the words humming through the air waves were making her uncomfortable. She had the urge to put on Weird Sisters... something hard and rockish.

"You know," she said, putting her pencil down and reaching across to straighten his tie. "Girls find you very handsome and adorable. That girl we saw at the ice cream parlour wanted to owl her and I bet you never did." She didn't like the idea that Angelina Johnson was making eyes at Augie but... maybe it'd be good for him. Lowering her hands. She smiled and shrugged.

"Is she pretty?" She asked, trying to remember Angelina Johnson. She was probably beautiful and much prettier than her. And skinnier. "You should ask her out."

Honestly. How did she do that? She would just pop on air say a few things and make them sound perfect and then go back to whatever she was doing. It was impressive, really.

He thought back to said time at the ice cream parlour. There was a girl there, yes. She was hitting on him, yes. He was interested, no. Honestly, why would he flirt or even notice someone like that when Eloise was around anyway? "No. I didn't owl her. Contrary to popular belief, I do not pick up women at ice cream parlours." He smiled though this time in a sarcastic way. Why was she talking about all of this? She definitely wanted him to find someone so he'd stop being a pest and leave her alone. That was definitely it.

He scratched his head again, trying to think of Angelina's looks. Honestly? He did know what she looked like, but he never really paid close attention. From what he'd heard from other blokes at the office though, she was apparently pretty attractive. "Er. Well. I think people think she's good looking, yea." Her next statement took him by surprise. He didn't really know what to think of it. Eloise was so nice and he should'nt assumed because of that, that'd she'd always like his company. She was sure to find a proper bloke and Augie was probably getting in the way. Bloody hell. He'd be one lucky son of a bitch. Not knowing what to say, he just agreed with her: "Er. Well. Yea. I guess I could do that."

"Well," Eloise said, fingers and hands quickly moving over her sketch. "Maybe you should start. You're very handsome, Augie and you don't deserve to be alone." She couldn't very well meet his eyes and say it but she'd never had a problem telling him how she felt. It was rather easy, actually and he did seem to listen and that was always very nice. Not many people listened to her. Well, her radio show didn't count because she was pretty certain that the one person who did listen to her was in this room right now. "I mean. It's not like women don't want to date you."

When he said he'd ask Ange out, a sense of dread fell over her and her hand stilled. Looking up at him, she opened her mouth to say something but found she couldn't really find the words. He was going to ask someone out. Merlin. Then she'd never see him again. That's what had happened with Kyra. They'd started dating and Augie had little time for her anymore. It made sense, honestly. But, well, she didn't want to lose him again.

"Just promise me you won't forget about me this time around," she said, trying to come off as painful but her voice was laced with a hint of vulnerability. "I mean. I'm sure you two will have a lot of fun and maybe you will like her... or something."

Augustus gave her the "are you joking?" look. He was tense, not very fun, and he worked too much. Women really shouldn't want to be dating him, this he knew.

Now he was uncomfortable. Not with Eloise per-say, but with all the things that were going on in his head right now. He looked at her again, rubbing the spot between his eyebrows to the bridge of his nose. "Er. Yea maybe." He felt a heavy weight drop on his shoulder like he couldn't breathe. He had to get some air or something. "Hey. Uhm, I think I'm gonna go. Raincheck on breakfast, okay? I just realized I have some, er, stuff I got to do."

With that statement he stood up and walked towards the door, stopping at it's frame to look at Eloise one again. "Oh and Eloise? I never have and never will forget about you." He tapped the door frame with his hand, and then ducked out not looking back behind him. He honestly had no idea what was going on in his head, but all of the sudden being near Eloise was too intoxicating. He just hoped him leaving so suddenly wouldn't hurt her feelings.
