Who: Alicia and Katie (small appearance by Geoff)
When: Early Thursday Morning/Late Wednesday Night
Where: Katie's House
What: Bff to the rescue!
Status: In-Progress
Rating: Language.

Katie stared at her journal, still feeling somewhat in shock at what Marcus had told her. He loved her. She should be happy about it but she really just wished they'd kept all that stuff to themselves. It'd be so much easier to deal with this whole seperation thing if she didn't know that he felt the same way about her as she did about him. Merlin. Her head was pounding. The whole emotional day had taken its toll and Katie just wanted Alicia to show up so she could cry some more and go to sleep. Curling deeper under her blankets, Katie read his words over and over. She could hear him say it in her mind. Somewhat exasperated by the idea that she'd managed to get so deep under his skin but he loved her nonetheless. This was all too much. She wasn't sure how to bear it. At first, Katie had wanted to go to his house and throw her arms around his neck and never let go but that path seemed taken from her. At least for now and she wasn't sure what she was suppsoed to do. Did she wait? If he loved her, well, was he really starting a relationship with Lavender? Maybe she'd assumed wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. Still, it didn't change the fact that there was a baby in the picture and that she had nothing to do with that little mess of a situation.

Sighing, Katie pulled her comforter up around her chin, staring at the wall in front of her. How did her life become so complicated? There was nothing for it, however. She just had to buck up and deal with all of it. It'd be fine. Perfectly easy, really. Except, she didn't know if it would be or not. Katie tried to stay positive. She had to. Whether she wanted to admit it or not, a lot of bad things seemed to happen to her. But, if she gave up hope? How would that really help. No. She was just going to push aside all of this and move on. Nothing was going to come of her and Marcus and, anyway, she had much more important things to deal with. Like the fact that her potions weren't working and her career depended on her finding some sort of cure to get her through the days. Or at least something to manage everything.

It all felt so ridiculously overwhelming and Katie felt like she was seconds from losing it. Well, less than that really because the tears had already started falling. She just hadn't noticed them until she tasted the salty bitterness of defeat on her lips. Merlin. This was just bloody awful. Crying softly, Katie pulled the covers over her head and waited for Alicia to come and tell her she shouldn't be this upset over Marcus Flint. Maybe she'd actually listen this time. Except, well, that seemed doubtful.

It had been early afternoon in New Zealand when Katie had asked Alicia to come home so getting a portkey had been surprisingly simple. Well, mostly. She'd spent most of the last week traveling with a group of muggle backpackers so coming up with an excuse to suddenly have to leave and then disappearing from the middle of nowhere with no transportation and them not seeing magic? That had been the tricky part. But she'd somehow managed and in no time she was back in England.

Alicia wasn't very good with emotions. She had little to no control over her own and she honestly never knew how to handle anyone else's. She wasn't really sure what help she'd end up being to Katie but she was her best friend and she was having an awful time of it and Alicia was going to do whatever she could. She'd thought about stopping for chocolate frogs or ice cream or something for her since that usually helped, but with Katie's whole not eating thing, it just seemed like a waste of time and she'd rather just get to her friend.

Once she made it to Katie's house, she didn't bother knocking and instead just let herself right in. Not seeing her on the couch, Alicia made her way to Katie's room, knocking just slightly before letting herself in there as well. It took a moment to notice the lump under the sheets and only another small moment before she heard crying. Alicia walked over and sat gently on the side of the bed before reaching over and patting the lump gently.

She knew the minute Alicia had entered her room and she tossed the covers off of her and gave her friend a watery smile as she came in. Merlin. This was all so dramatic and complicated. She just wanted things to be... well, easy. They didn't have to be perfect because she knew that wasn't likely to happen but it'd be nice if something could just go the right way for once. Realizing that there wasn't all that much to say, Katie sighed, sadly. "I don't know what I'm supposed to do," she said, somewhat disparagingly. "I can't just demand that he be in a relationship with me. I mean, as much as I'd like that... I don't know. It's all so frustrating."

Katie didn't have a chance to go on when Geoff pushed the door open. She looked up at him, somwhat surprised. She wouldn't classify them as the best of friends but they were close. Not like him and Ali but still, she was surprised to see him here.

Geoff looked at the two women in front of him. They looked so different and yet were so incredibly alike in a lot of ways. Holding up a bag of Katie's favorite food, he gave her a smile and walked towards the bed, dropping a small kiss on Alicia's lips before dropping a brotherly kiss on Katie's forehead. "Well. If this isn't what every man dreams of witnessing. Katie Bell and Alicia Spinnet in bed together."

Alicia frowned slightly at Katie, not really sure what she was supposed to say. She wanted to tell Katie that things would get better eventually, and at the very least Quidditch would be starting back up before they knew it and that'd be a fabulous distraction. And then Ali realized she couldn't even say that because Katie didn't have Quidditch either. Alicia was about to ask why Katie couldn't do just what she said...go and demand a relationship out of him. Flint owed her at least a shot at it after everything he'd put her through, but Ali wasn't able to even start to give her horrible advice before the door was opening again.

She smiled when she saw it was Geoff and was more than happy to return his kiss, though couldn't help but feel slightly awkward after it all. On the one hand, it was nice and familiar and she was surprised at how much she'd missed him in just a week. But at the same time, here was Katie who was depressed because she was in love with a man who'd knocked some other witch up and for some reason kissing her...whatever Geoff was...in front of Katie didn't seem entirely appropriate. But Ali really was happy to see him, so she figured she'd just go with that and hope Katie didn't mind.

She let out a small laugh at Geoff's comment. "Cute," she said with an amused shake of her head before turning back to Katie. "You know how I sort of suck at advice having to do with emotional things. Or guys. Or anything, really. So I called in Geoff for back up. I hope that's okay?" she asked, realizing that maybe she should have cleared it with Katie first. But it wasn't like Alicia had had a lot of time to think things through considering how spur of the moment this had all been. Luckily they were all close. To varying degrees, certainly, but still close.

Katie was a little freaked out by the whole Alicia and Geoff thing. She thought it was strange that she was dating him after dating Drew. Katie couldn't imagine being okay with Alicia dating Marcus... well, not that Alicia ever would. She was pretty sure there was nothing in the world Ali hated more than Marcus Flint. Sighing, Katie just nodded, tossing the covers off of her and heading into the bathroom. Her head was pounding and she needed to take her potions. Plus, she figured it'd give Ali and Geoff some snogging time or whatever. Mentally rolling her eyes, she padded towards the bathroom.

"Bell," Geoff called after her, brow raised. "You walk around like that with Davies here?" She made a rude gesture and disappeared. No man couldn't help but appreciate Katie's legs but Merlin. He turned to Alicia. "Don't think I've ever seen her that thin." He eyed Ali, who also looked like she could use a few pounds. "You've been gone a week and you look like you haven't eaten in ten years."

Shaking his head, he pulled her to her feet, sliding his arms around her waist and leaned down to give her a proper kiss. He'd missed her. Not that he'd tell her. Well, he might but she never seemed overly fond of emotion so he didn't know what to say to her. "Glad you're back," he murmured, against her lips, fully intending to bring her home with him if Kates was going to be alright.

Alicia watched Katie walk towards the bathroom, feeling like maybe she should follow and make sure she was okay or something? But if Katie wanted anyone with her, she would have said so. Fuck, she hoped Katie wasn't upset about Geoff. Because if that was the case, Alicia would just send Geoff back home and make it up to him later or something. Then again, maybe Katie just needed to pee and didn't feel it worth announcing or anything. As she walked off, Alicia couldn't help but notice how thin Katie really looked. She looked...well she looked awful. And not at all healthy.

But then Geoff was addressing her and she couldn't help but get distracted. She shook her head at his comment as she waved it off. "I always look like this," she said. Well, she was definitely already overly thin, but she supposed she'd lost more than a little bit of weight. Non stop movement and exertion paired with a diet of occasional fruit wasn't conducive to maintaining any sort of body weight.

When he pulled her up, however, she couldn't help but smile. Fuck. She'd really fucking missed him more than she would have thought. It had only been a fucking week and it felt like...so much longer than that. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him back, more than content to just...stay in his arms for quite a while. "Missed you," she responded with a small smile against his lips before kissing him again. And then she realized what she had said and that was just fucking weird. Not to mention they were supposed to be there for Katie. "But. We are here for Katie and her man problems so..." she trailed off as she pulled back slightly.

Katie stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her bathroom door was ajar and she could hear them murmuring out there. Sometimes, it just didn't seem fair. Ali could be up in arms and confused about Geoff but it was clear he was fond of her. Overly fond if his greeting was any indication. Sighing, Katie looked at her tear-streaked face and the ribs she could see through her shirt. She felt awful. All the time. She hated it. She just wanted to be healthy again. Sighing, Katie turned the water on, splashing the cool liquid on her face. It was perfectly refreshing, thank goodness. Her eyes were still red and her cheeks a bit puffy but she didn't feel as though her heart was displayed quite so openly on her face.

Pushing the door open, she felt her heart drop as she watched them snog but managed to keep it off her face. She liked Ali and Geoff together. They complimented each other well. Geoff was a bit quieter then Alicia and he seemed to genuinely care for her.

"Missed you too," he said, nipping gently at her lip. Pulling back he glanced towards the bathroom where a confused and sad looking Katie Bell stared at them. Merlin. He hated it when any of his girls suffered and Katie had been through the ringer lately but her unfailingly need to be positive about everything had always made everything seem like a small trifle. But this? That sad, stark look she had about her? It was awful. Pulling away from Ali, he raised a brow and sat on the bed, tossing the covers back so Katie could crawl in as she quietly slid under them.

"I have no bloody clue what you want me to say, Katie," he said, leaning back and staring at her ceiling. "Flint's an idiot. He clearly likes you. Not a lot of Slytherin's would brave a boat of Gryffindors to see a Gryfindor girl."

Merlin. Alicia wasn't sure when Geoff had gone from being a good fuck and a close friend to...well, more. But it had certainly happened and she just wanted to spend the rest of the off season with him which was, well, a really fucking scary thought. His lips....and well everything about him was just perfect. But before she had enough time to dwell or freak out about all of the feelings that had randomly come up about him, Katie was coming out of the bathroom and Alicia took another step away from Geoff.

She watched as Geoff tossed back the covers and Katie got into bed. Merlin, she really looked awful. And that was coming from Alicia who was practically the poster child for anorexia. She stayed in her position standing off to the side when Geoff started talking to Katie about Flint being an idiot. Well, she could certainly agree with that. Flint was dumb as fucking shit.

Alicia moved over to the bed, moving everyone so that she could essentially spoon Katie, throwing her arm over her best friend. "You still don't know if he and Lavender are going to try anything, right? So there could still be a chance. You should just...talk to him. He loves you apparently...and you love him...so don't you both owe each other at least that much?"

Katie snuggled closer to Alicia, feeling very much at home and comfortable with her friends. She loved them all so much. She was an affectionate person by nature (as were most Gryffindors) so snuggling up with Ali, George, Drew, Ken, Cormac, Geoff, Ange or any of them was really just second nature to her. Rubbing her nose, Katie listened to Ali talk and nodded. She was right. She should just try to do something about the whole thing but she felt like everything was just trying to keep them apart and maybe she should listen to that. After all, she was pretty much the Gryffindor golden girl and he was everything Slytherin and more. Not to mention the Puddlemere and Falcons rivalry and add to the fact that she was fairly certain none of her friends even liked him and most certainly his didn't like her. It was all just too complicated and so very... Romeo and Juliet. Star-crossed lovers from different houses. Ridiculous. She snorted at the thought.

"I can't compete with a baby," Katie said, flatly. "Not to mention they have history or something and now a baby? I don't even know if I can deal with a baby... The idea of him having a child with someone else is so depressing."

Geoff was staring at Katie's ceiling, listening to the girls. He had no fucking clue what he was doing here. Ali had asked and he'd come running. He didn't particularly like Flint but he didn't hate him or anything. In fact, he was semi-impressed with his displays of affection in regards to Katie but she had a point. A child? He glanced at Alicia, brow furrowed, wondering what he'd do if she ever had someone's kid. Fuck. He didn't even want to think about that. Pushing that thought aside, Geoff moved up the bed lying on his side, facing Katie and Ali. "Can werewolves have babies?" he asked, randomly.

"Who says you have to compete with the baby? Regular couples don't compete with their children for affection from their partner..." Alicia said, a little confused. Though, when Katie said that she wasn't sure she could deal with a baby? Well that certainly made more sense. Alicia didn't think she'd be able to be in a relationship with someone who had had a child with someone else. Too much baggage and all of that shite. "Well...what's more depressing. The child with someone else or not being with him at all?" Honestly, it would probably be easier for Katie in the long run if she just cut Marcus off all together. She'd hopefully get over it eventually and it would just be so much less drama in the long run. But Alicia didn't want to suggest that unless she was sure that that was what Katie really wanted.

Even though Alicia was squarely on Team Katie, always and forever, she couldn't help but feel slightly bad for Lavender as well. She was also having someones kid that she probably didn't want to be with and it couldn't be very easy on her either. Plus she had the prospect of becoming a mom to have to deal with which just sounded...fucking awful. Motherhood seemed like the most horrendous thing to ever have to go through in nature.

When Geoff asked about werewolves having babies, Alicia had to think it over for a minute. "You know...that's a good question. I mean, we all know male werewolves can but.....it's different when it's the female....Huh," she said, thinking it over. She couldn't imagine it would be easy on a fetus to go through that change every month. It was a lot of stress on the body apparently and weren't babies pretty fragile?
