When she repositioned herself, his arms settled easily around her waist keeping her close to him. He would no longer be able to pretend like he didn't know what Geoff meant when he said not to get attached. Drew was attached. That much he knew. He was attached to her and he didn't even mind. Given his job, he really shouldn't be, but not even that bothered him. It was just a job ... which, really should have clued him in. It wasn't just a job, this was what he was meant to do. The fact that he brushed it off as "just a job" should have been a clear insight into just how far he'd gotten himself in.
He grinned when her eyes light up. He'd missed that the most. Sure, he was more than a little addicted to the fell of her beside him, but he liked to watched the way her eyes light up and know it was because of him.
