WHO: EVERYONE (No, really. If you know Marcus or know someone who knows Marcus or have a third cousin whose brother once dated a girl that snogged Marcus...you're totally invited.)
WHAT: Impromptu Party
WHERE: Marcus's House
WHEN: Sunday Evening; 3 April 2002
RATING: NC-17 for the comment thread with Marcus. R for everything else.
STATUS: In progress

Marcus wasn't sure why he was having a party. He really didn't like hosting them. Mostly because he didn't like people touching his shit. He was a pretty possessive person and the thought of people he didn't like touching things he did like just drove him absolutely mental. But it had been a while since anyone else had had a worthwhile party so he decided to take the initiative for once. Mostly because he wanted to get drunk and laid and what better way to accomplish both other having a huge party? And plus, his place was big enough that it would comfortable hold an incredibly amount of people. His bedroom was warded off from everyone except for himself and Warrington but the rest of his house was fair game. He figured if anything got destroyed he could replace it later.

He had two full service bars set up, one in the reception room and one in the kitchen, which made a bar available....for every five floors. Not that they were huge floors. And honestly, he was glad there were a lot of stairs in his place. It kept the overly overweight people from bothering to come. Not that he'd let any of them in if he could help it in the first place. He liked to actually enjoy what he looked at. People had started showing up fairly early, most of which he really didn't know personally. He knew Clint would show up eventually. Probably Keeley and Adrian. Possibly the Greengrasses. And he really and truly hoped Bell's loose sounding sister showed. She seemed fun from Clint's description. Of course, it might be a bit rough to get past the whole her being related to Bell thing....but if she was as cute as Clint made her out to be, he had a feeling it wouldn't be that difficult of a task.

Adrian grinned against her skin for a moment before pulling away. Was it wrong of him to hope the bloke suddenly fell off the edge of the planet? No, but thinking about doing it himself probably was. He didn't even know the guy, but given the statement earlier, he was positive she could use a little distraction from the bloke. Of course, that wasn't his decision to make and he'd just leave it at that.

"So why isn't it your decision?" he asked, clearly ignoring what he'd just decided. He was also pretty sure removing his lips from her skin was a bad idea, because his eyes kept dropping back to her lips, acting as the temptation that they were. "I think I'd much prefer it if it was."

How had they gone from an amazing snog session to talking about her shite of an engagement? Couldn't they just go back to snogging or something? That was way more fun. But he'd asked her a question and the least she could do was answer. The engagement hadn't been her decision in the first place, so did she really have a say in ending it? "It's an...arranged sort of thing," she said, trying to sound as casual as possible.

"Carrying out my dearly departed father's wishes for my life. Even though he's not technically dead or anything. But he might as well be," she said with a small shrug. "And I think there's contracts involved or something....so," she sort of trailed off, not really sure where she was going with that. He probably didn't want to hear all about her failure of a life. Though she supposed it wasn't really a failure. She'd always kind of figured she'd get married off to someone her father had picked one day. She just wished he'd picked someone a little nicer.

He would have much preferred to be snogging too, but that usually lead to other things and that was clearly something that needed to be avoided, given the circumstances .. even if he was still thinking about it. "So, if he's all but dead, why worry about it?" he asked, his eyes shifting from her lips to her neck. Hell, she had a really nice neck.

Well, if she was going to stay where she was, he didn't see why he couldn't take advantage of it. It wasn't that he didn't want to hear about her life. He just wasn't impressed with the part of it that interfered with his own desires. As his lips brushed her neck, he murmured, his thoughts drifting slightly from their topic of conversation. "You're of age, right? It's not like you signed the contract." He knew all about arsehole father's, luckily for him, his really was dead.

Honestly, Daphne knew the whole situation was more complicated than it seemed. There were finances involved between both families, but honestly, Daphne didn't know that much about any of it. She just did what was expected of her. Astoria had always disliked that about her....Daphne always did what their father wanted, no questions asked. She made friends with the people he approved of and enemies of the ones he didn't. She went to society events when told to and acted exactly how pureblood women were supposed to act. And when she'd finally finished school, she got engaged exactly as she was told to the person she was instructed to.

She hadn't really ever seriously entertained the thought that she could do what she wanted. That had never seemed like an option to her and she was so used to doing what other people wanted that she wasn't even sure she knew how to act on her own. Even she realized how pathetic she was. Her head fell slightly to the side as his lips brushed it once more, a small moan escaping at the sensation while her fingers gripped his shirt. "You don't want to talk about my engagement. You dont have to be the polite nice guy," she said, unsure why he'd even asked about it in the first place.

He hadn't even really thought about what he'd said. He'd just said what had immediately come to mind. He supposed, he never really had to worry about that sort of thing. Sure, he had expectations but he'd never really bothered with them. His father had been an arse. He knew it. The world knew it. And he hadn't felt bad about ignoring the man. Of course, not everyone had the same mindset and it was foolish to assume other people did.

"What can I say?" he laughed, nipping gently at her neck. "I just like the thought of you letting your hair down a little." Sure, he probably should have just left their little snog fest as it had been, but he was never one to pass up a good thing.

Had she mentioned that her neck was one of her most sensitive spots? Because it definitely was, and he definitely knew just the way to make it feel bloody amazing. Ever graze of his teeth or brush of his lips made her feel like her knees would give out at any second.. Although the thought of him wanting her to let her hair down was amusing. Aside from the very literal definition of that, she was practically incapable of 'letting down' her hair. "Well, I hate to disappoint you, but I'm actually no fun at all. I'm incredibly boring and not very good company," she said honestly.

Daphne was boring. And if she wasn't being boring, she was being a bitch. Adrian had just managed to catch her at an incredibly rare time. And then she just couldn't take it. She needed to either leave or just get shagged already because this teasing crap was frustrating. She placed both hands on either side of his face and maneuvered his head so that their lips met in an almost desperate kiss. After a moment, she pulled away and dropped her hands. "Ugh. I should go. I'm going. This has been....fantastic," she said with a small smile.

"I beg to differ," he responded when she said she was no fun. He'd had fun, even if it was just snogging. As for company, well, he'd definitely had worse. He wasn't, however, going to argue with her.

He was disappointed when she pulled away, but also ridiculously amused. He certainly wasn't complaining about the kiss, even if she did pull away after wards. For having to pretend to be her Fiancee to keep away the freaks, he'd rather enjoyed himself and the night hadn't been a complete loss. He nodded, a smirk on his lips as he said, "Anytime."

Daphne was glad he didn't try to keep her there for longer or try to prolong the kiss or start back up on her neck or anything. Because she wasn't so sure she'd have been able to turn him down another time. She was going to get so much hell for this. She had no doubt that someone would say something and it would eventually get back to her fiancee. Maybe she could convince Clint to lie and say she was there with him. She'd have to ask.

"It was a pleasure, Mr. Pucey. See you around," she said with a small smile, leaning up and giving his cheek a quick kiss before stepping away. She needed to get home before she did something even more stupid. Plus, she had work early in the morning and she was exhausted. Sleep would be good. And a nice hot shower. Or bath.
