WHO: Rae and Rory
WHAT: Girl time. Painting AJ's mural. Also, bad movies.
WHERE: Rory's room, Sing Sing.
WHEN: April 24th, nighttime.
RATING: Low, maybe a low-medium for language?
STATUS: In progress
As a girl who thrived on being feminine, on girl-time, Rae Alghren had been sorely lacking it lately. Her best friend was angry at her for trying to get to the bottom of whatever issues were making her distant from David, Ellie and Lilah were too busy being on Team Science, George was too busy hanging around with Luke... and that left her in sort of a tough spot. After what happened with Bridget, she was understandably hesitant to let many new people into her life. Or, new-old people, as it were. Thankfully, she'd deemed Rory Everett an exception.
The woman was different from the type of people Rae usually surrounded herself with. Generally, she kept company like her. Allie's bubbly personality complimented her own, and Lilah and Ellie were both the right combination of brainy and sweet to get along well with Rae. Bur Rory? The best way Rae could describe her was like a combination of the best parts of herself and Charlie. She had Charlie's quick wit and no-nonsense attitude, but she was nice like Rae. At least, in the experience that Rae had with her.
The opportunity for girl time couldn't have come with a better person, at a better time.
The mural had been fairly quick work, even if it was a little bit painstaking. Rae wasn't really an artist. She could draw, sure. Cute little cartoony things, which was what made this mural all the more special. It was perfect for a child; the silly little drawings of doctor and dancer dinosaurs and their firefighter counterparts fit into the dino-decor part of the room that was obviously AJ's. When she and Rory finished painting the drawings in, Rae took a couple steps back and looked their work over with an amused, pleased smirk.
"Well, if I were a one year old boy, I would totally want to live in this," she said seriously. "We make quite the art team, lady. What do you think?"
