A sense of relief washed over her when she heard and saw Evan. Duh, who else would it be. She scolded herself for thinking it was anything bad. Just one infected couldn’t have made it all this way, just to attack her. She laughed and shook her head, “Course it is. Just jumpy.” She said letting go of her gun and her hands dropping to her side. It wasn’t like the zombies could follow her out of her dreams, otherwise she would have been mauled long before. “Peaceful dreams without terror are hard to come by.” She rubbed her neck and took a few steps towards him.
“I take it you were faced with the same thing?” She was trying not to let her gut instinct take over and bombard him with questions of whether he knew where her brother was. Of course Emily knew he wouldn’t be back the same day he left, and she had no doubt he was safe in a safe house elsewhere. Being separated went against what they had promised though.
Shrugging her shoulders, “I was going to go get something to drink if you wanted to come.” Sleep was not going to happen after this, so she might as well have a bit of company in the time being.
