"I'd be more concerned if you weren't jumpy," Evan said with a bit of a halfhearted chuckle as he saw that she released the grip on her weapon. Of all the people in the safehouse for him to have run into on his midnight drink run, he was definitely glad that it was her.
He let out another chuckle when she mentioned peaceful sleep being hard to come by. "It is," he nodded his agreement. "It's hard to believe we're the only ones having that problem, too," he mused. Most people probably didn't feel the need to get up, but Evan knew that the longer he lay there and tried to sleep, the longer it'd take for him to get there. It was half out of respect and half out of not wanting to be bitched at by the other folks in the safehouse for being noisy at night that he kept his tone at a semi-loud whisper.
She asked if he was facing the same thing and he nodded his head. "We've encountered each other like this enough times for you to know the answer to that," he half-smiled and nodded toward the mess hall area. "Let's go see if there's any dinner left over or something, hm?"
