Who: Geoffrey and Ollie
When: Afternoon
Where: Abandoned apartment complex (near Macy's)
What: More looting
The best part of the world going to shit was people leaving valuables behind as they scrambled about to try and get the hell out of New York. Some were now a part of the survival crew and others...well. They were a bit under the living weather. It was sad, but when it came to looting, Geoffrey couldn't allow himself to feel sorry over something he couldn't change. On the plus side, besides an aggressive exploder, there didn't seem to be very much activity. Phoenix, his dog, usually whimpered when an undead was around and so far, his German Shepard was silent.
That was until he opened the door to the apartment complex. Phoenix's behavior changed drastically. She barked into the dead air and whimpered when she saw a shuffler walk slowly, kicking a few cans of emptied beer as he did so. "You know, you're a shit guard dog," he stated with a rolling of the eyes. He saw Phoenix fierce when he first got her, untamed and angry. Now she acted as if she were a poodle or something of the docile sort.
Geoffrey skipped the second floor on account to a bad feeling in his gut and moved to the third floor, his steps careful when he encountered the first room. He opened the door slowly and hit a bit of a jackpot. Cabinets were left open with non perishable goods remaining. From the fragments of body parts left on the floor, chances were, the couple or person inside didn't make it.
He first gathered the food and a bottle of vodka before he checked the house for any weapons. When he got to the bathroom area, he discovered a jackpot of useful medications. This was also when he heard a creak interrupt the otherwise only slightly tense air. Phoenix did her usual whimpering routine where she eventually just sat down and whined. "Come on," he encouraged before he took out his gun and carefully went into the main area of the flat. Something didn't feel right, but there was otherwise not one single sound. "See? Nothing to worry about." It was almost as if Geoffrey was trying to comfort himself.
