If he'd had any doubt whatsoever that he was looking at Rae, the smile confirmed it. It was bright and wonderful and lit up the room with the power of its joy. Or so Elliot liked to think. Having the positive Rae of sunshine (pun intended) talking to him did wonders for rinsing away the sour taste that the Negative Nancies had left behind.
"I should know that by now, shouldn't I?" He asked, munching away on his Twix. As he chewed his mouthful, Elliot couldn't help but shake his head and laugh again. "It looks good. Really good. I can't get over that outfit. How could I not have noticed you until now? You're so... bright."
He blinked as she spoke of a conversation they'd had over a year ago. He could barely recall what exactly had been said, but obviously Rae's memory was better than his. There had been more to that conversation, hadn't there? Something else his memory was failing to remind him.
Interest peaked, Elliot watched as the woman took a glimpse into her matching purse, smirking that mischievous smirk he'd come to know so well. When she pulled out a couple packs of his favorite childhood candy, the man nearly choked on his snack out of shock for what he was seeing. "Pop Rocks?! You actually found some? Oh geeze, I haven't had these things in years." He grinned at her. "Has anyone ever told you that you're the best?"
"Well, it's impressive, I gotta say," he said, admiring the meager yet entirely festive decorations. It was the most celebratory he'd seen in years, at least.
