WHO: Billie and Rae WHAT: Rae is in need of a distraction. Halloween looting shopping! WHEN: October 30th, 2018 WHERE: Macy's at Herald Square RATING: Medium for language? STATUS: In progress.
Often times, Rae found that the best way to distract yourself from a negative situation was to find something to immerse yourself in. Normally, that would mean that she threw herself headlong into her Immune duties, but she couldn't do that. The grief had finally stricken her father when they'd reached Madison Square Garden and he'd pleaded her only to go out when she had to, at least until he felt somewhat recovered. She'd have contested him, but he needed security. He'd just lost the only woman he'd ever loved, and she couldn't imagine the pain he was in. Still… that day, she was beginning to feel stir-crazy.
So, she formulated a plan.
Halloween was tomorrow. Before everything happened and the world went to hell, Rae was a huge Halloween enthusiast. She used to love dressing up and becoming another whole personality for a night. At the club she used to work at, they had themed nights on Halloween, where they chose movies or random, fun things and each girl who danced, danced dressed as a character. The Burlesque theme she'd a couple of years before she'd been bitten was still her favorite.
Even if dressing up for Halloween was a long lost memory, Rae knew of a way to feel somewhat in the Halloween spirit and raise her own spirits in the process. So, here she stood at Macy's, in the storeroom, eyeing various Halloween decorations, and planning to get candy on the way out. She smiled a little bit as she rummaged around in a box, through orange and black garland.
"Feeling a little better already," she thought aloud.
