It had been a little while since David had taken the time to just sit and listen to his iPod. Okay, more than awhile. Since the solar power thing had been re-established, he hadn't even entertained the idea and before that, well… he'd had no way to really do it. So, he figured it was long overdue.
He took the thin, green electronic device from the charger on the wall and turned it on. The screen was foreign to him, almost. Backlit blue with so many pictures of album covers… he smiled wistfully. The thing had been a Christmas present from his parents, the year before everything went to hell. It was relatively state of the art, considering the art was more or less dead now. His thumb trailed along the screen, smiling as the screen tugged to the left side.
He continued rifling through the list, looking for the right song to start with, before he started in on the dozens and dozens of books he'd brought back from the library. He wanted to mess with the underwater camera a little bit more, but he figured that since Elliot had gone through so much trouble to find the thing for him, the least he could do was wait for his brother to get back before he started in on the project.
Finally, he settled on a song to start with and leaned back against the wall casually, pulling out the copy of the Presence and starting to read.
It had been way, way too long since he'd done this.
