WHO: Jax and Nick
WHEN: April 24th, 2020 ; the wee hours
WHERE: one of the guard towers
WHAT: the aftermath of nightmares
RATING:: medium
Jax didn't waste any time getting to the guard tower after he'd finished texting with Nick. In some ways, it might have made more sense for him to tell her to come to his cell... but what if her brother noticed she was gone and came looking for her? Despite the fact that it was well before the crack of dawn, somebody might be able to tell him where Jax lived, or he might be able to look it up at the security office. Jax didn't want to take any chances on Jake kicking his ass when he felt super crappy already.
He rarely slept that great anyway, but on the nights he had nightmares, it was nearly impossible for him to sleep again. There was so much Jax pushed down under the surface, not wanting his subconscious crap to dim his enthusiasm for life or his happy-go-lucky personality. Maybe that wasn't such a good thing, but he had no idea what to do about it.
Jax got settled in to wait for Nick, spreading one blanket in a thick layer for them to sit on and wrapping the other one around his shoulders as he leaned against the wall. When she got there, he'd open it up to wrap around both of them. His phone was next to him, and he had a tiny flashlight in one hand. He'd found it the last time he'd gone out looting; it would be great until the batteries in it died. Idly, he flashed a pattern on the wall.
It was nice here tonight, not anywhere near as cold as it had been the night he and Nick had made out here. That was one good thing, at least.
